Saw Tommy for the second time this year. My wife surprised me with the "meet and greet" before the show. I will admit, I was kind of star struck, but he is one of the most gracious individuals on the planet. Truly a hero to me, and he just amplified that with his warmth and generosity of time. He is the reason I pick my guitar up every day.
I always am in awe of Tommy's playing! And if you get the chance to see him live... DON'T MISS IT! He will always be my favorite CGP!
I had a chance to see him live, but the tickets were $300 each. I can't pay that much to sit 50-75 feet away when I can watch him at a distance of 3 feet online for free.
I completely understand!@@truthseekerKJV I was fortunate enough to be at a small venue for a much more manageable price. But agreed - it's nice to see his music as much as I want on UA-cam!
Guitar still obeys him in his older years as it did when he was young. What a legend!
Saw Tommy for the first time at a very small venue in the San Joaquin Valley at the Orange Blossom Junction many years ago. We’ve seen and met him multiple times over the past 15 or so years. He never disappoints, and as my husband says, “ listening to Tommy turns any day into a better one.”

That reminds me of the Ukulele Kids Club, another worthy organization. They’ve given over 11,000 ukes to sick kids in hospitals. (Guitars were tried first, but were too big)
Seen Tommy many times over the years from early Roxy cafe Sydney days to Goldrush band as a teenager duos with brother Phil over the years and my 30th birthday highlight seated a metre away right in front of him. Tommy is the gun! An amazing genourous man.Loving his sound on the Larivee fuller and rounder than the Maton. Fantastic production here🤙
as a Larrivee owner...I am biased, but I think this sounds way better.
Saw Tommy live the first time in 2005, and a bunch of times over the years - most recently about 10 days ago. He is more on fire than ever! It’s hard to believe!

Never seen Tommy Emmanuel play with a flat picking technique. I’ve seen Tommy do all this with his regular thumbpicking style. Very cool video. Thanks for sharing. A master.
There are many songs that TE plays with flatpick, just to say a few, angelina, wide ocean, blood brother, timberland etc..
@@anish_99 Oh I didn’t know that. And I’m a big fan of Tommy. What I’ve watched of him he always used the thumbpick. I guess I’m more in awe of watching Tommy as a whole and not trying to play his stuff especially his ability to play blazing fast solos by gripping his thumbpick. His technique is just too incredible for a wannabe like to try a copy any of it. Thanks for the comment.

Always amazes me. I never saw Tommy play with a regular pick. I wonder why he didn't use a thumb pick.

I was hoping to hear some of Tommy's thoughts on the ATMOS technology. I can understand that the nuts and bolts and those implications were outside the scope of that show, but I would've been interested to hear Tommy's take.

@@mikhailbakurkov2762 последний раз он был в России в 2017 году. Не знаю, почему за все 5 лет до февраля 2022 года ни разу не приехал. Возможно, дело не только в политике, но и в организации концертов, финансах, переездах и т.д. Что-то не устраивало, значит...

He does play electric guitar and does it quite well. Search UA-cam for Tommy and Joe Satriani for one example.

@@guitareveryoneя не знал, что у него был брат.. у меня тоже.. был.. Я нашёл видео, где маэстро Томми играет на электрогитаре.. там был маэстро Джо Сатриани и ещё один великолепный музыкант.. я живу, когда слушаю такое.. спасибо этим людям! 😍
Томми начинал свою карьеру, играя на электрогитаре в группе, добавляя пару-тройку композиций на акустической гитаре. Потом полностью перешёл на акустику и сольное исполнение, но иногда по старой памяти играет на Фендере Телекастере.
