Great zip tie fix on that pedal and really like those little pliers you have (keep meaning to get something like that). Really good run through the tools and reasons for including what you have. The pick ... can't think of any reason you'd have that beyond obviously meeting the devil at some dusty crossroads and having to trade guitar licks! 😉

@@onemorecyclist I got the little pliers from a cheap DIY store. The pick remains a mystery!!

Zip ties have to get the award for bringing out the Heath Robinson in cyclists. Great nod to your musical background, Dunlop is one of my go to picks but if I was backpacking, I could see me staching one somewhere. Good for removing thorns, splinters and bee stings.

Great video JP. All very useful advice. My tool kit is pretty much identical. Cheers

Good plan to keep taking the plectrum - there was probably a REALLY good reason to have it with you, even if you can't remember it now!

@@GuyGoesGreen Lol 🙂 I hope I remember at some point though because otherwise it will be a permanent inclusion in my toolkit for now good reason!

I always carry a multi-tool, patch kit, tire levers and spare tube. I met a fellow walking on our new cycle path with a flat tire. I couldn't help as the tube was not patchable and he did not have a spare. Lesson learned. Unfortunately, I didn't have a tube even close to his size. Thankfully, his walk home was only two miles. As you suggested, I now carry two vinyl gloves. Keeps hands clean when working on the bike, especially the chain.

@@whatsupwithrichard That tool carry is exactly what I take for a day ride when I am not running my bike with the tubeless tyres 👍

Good stuff Jay! Also, if applicable, don't forget your etap charger as I recently did. One gear is not enough 😂
