FINALLY….THE TIME HAS COME😈, it was about time the N16 gets put on the map. I got the early model version aka the small light model with the QG16 de. Love this episode guys, awesome job, although I would warn you that the timing chain, cam and crank sensors are an issue with this car after like 170,000km. Hopefully if it gets enough popularity, us QG boyz can get good performance parts👀🙏
@@MattBerrymotorsportAt around that 170,000km mark the timing chain metal is known to expand, elongating the overall timing chain’s length by a couple millimeters, and it would make the engine sound like it misfiring a bit, had this happened to me before. If the engine has been reasonably taken care of and is under 120,000km, you should be fine but just to be safe, try and get an oem replacement if possible, before….you know….timing chain deletes itself💀🥲

Get yourself a isky o-ring tool and oring the block with stainless wire, then run a stock composite head gasket. You'll blow a hole in the block before the head gasket fails. I o-ringed my BMW block at home it's easy as.
Nice love the build guys but I own a 2003 Nissan bluebird syphy and I just changed my fuel pump and the fuel gadage stop working what exactly u think is the issue?
Hahaha fuck me it’s always the slapper builds where you get away with giving zero fucks assembling or checking any clearances , the screw driver for the rings had me crying 😂 , I would never do an oil change on that motor, it’ll let the magic out
Where did the rods come from??? I need to know for my turbo N16. I'm running everything Haltech in mine as well. Been getting quotes from the US about getting custom Carrillo rods and Ross Racing pistons. If I could find some rods that already fit, that would be AWESOME!!!
@xplore7359 Not sure yet man. If all goes well, I'll be ordering them this arvo or tomorrow. I currently got Ross Racing Pistons making me custom forged pistons though so that's working out thus far. 👌
What pistons and rods were used. I know the eods were aftermarket (what brand) and were the pistons stock or custom ? Head studs? Gaskets ? Please teach me !!!
Stock pistons, reused the rings, rods were on eBay. It was very hard to find any listing for qg18 but it turns out the ga16 rods are identical so we got those and they work fine

Great info, we already had problems with the sensors and have replaced them. What can we expect to go wrong with the timing chain?

Straight off eBay to suit ga16 engine
End up having any luck Cody? I know GA16 rods will fit but some require heavy notching of the girdle and block to clearance.

We used the cheapest head gasket on eBay, $50
Re used the stock head bolts
