They can give us useful information that is for use. From what I have seen in videos I think the Harbo is probably more useful information long term while the wash is snap shot information. I think if we want the clearer picture we probably have to do the full gambit of the tests we have available to us. Harbo, Wash, Stick-board(drop count) and so on. Thanks for sharing James, Blessed Days...
The different types of Hygienic behaviors can freak you out as a new beekeeper when they are first seeing it. Thanks James, Cory, everyone. Keep up the Great Work.👍
True. But that's in part due to education surrounding the 'what'. If you don't start with the "fear factor" then there's no hurdles to overcome! So we must keep educating!
Some..i have hygenic bees been breeding since 2016..BUT the key isn't zero mites or sterile mites...the key is co existing WITH the mites..i don't think people will learn until $ is taken outta the equation..too much money fighting mites😂😂😂 meanwhile my bees getting zero treatment and better and better ..not for faint of heart and there HAS to be losses and losses before it gets better and better.no pain no gain ..the bees have to go through it man can't do it for them and although ive had smr/vsh/mauling for a decade its not enough, they have to fall and come back..your system will fall too i betcha even though thats what youre all sooo afraid of..with all due respect, this is what ive learned to be true ..
I was 100% no treatments for 4 years. The bees struggled with this concept of "tolerance" - but that doesn't mean it is not possible elsewhere. Viral loads play a major role in how the honey bees are going to *tolerate viruses. But if you have low mites or no mites in the colony based on breeding for resistance, the viruses are reduced to a non-factor. I'm not afraid of the crash - but if it makes you feel better to "not be afraid" - sweet!

I've been wondering, do you know if Cory is able to send queens to Canada? If he can, I think I'm going to have to get on the list lol
Unaware, but I believe it is something he has considered.
Life is to short for hot hives.
