The Panzerkampfwagen 38(t), was a Czechoslovak-designed light tank used mainly by Germany during World War II. In Czechoslovak service, it had the formal designation Lehký tank vzor 38 or LT vz. 38 / LT-38. A total of 1,400 were built by Czechoslovakia, and saw service during the early years of World War II until 1942 when the production stopped because it's main armament was deemed inadequate, the chassis of the Pz. 38(t) continued to be produced for the Marder III, and newly designed chassis was used for the Jagdpanzer 38, which used some of the Pz. 38 components. The letter (t) stands for Tschechisch the German word for Czech, the Germans would do this for all captured tanks and vehicles.
Do you also have a comment on the polish vultures who denied to help but occupied Těšínsko just after Nazis arrived to Sudets after the Munich betrayal?
@PAWEL 0sa Did you know why? Beacuse England and France gave us to Germany. Our nation was ready to fight but our president didn't want to. I dont know if it would be better if we were fighting. Well there would 50 mil. less deaths but... And Poland was also one of the nations that occupied our territory
@Jan Krynicky I am pretty sure that USSR was serious. They asked Poland if they can send their troops through their territory to help us. Poland didn't allow them to do so. Now I am sure that there was not any better choice then to give up. Imagine how would our nation end up, like for example Poland. However those sad 1,5 milion Czechoslovak men who had to leave the forts made me cry. I will never forgive this to France and England.
Actually the Panzer 38T was most plentiful to the German tank arm during Operation Barbarossa. Inside the Polish and French country invasion, the Panzer 38T only made up less than 1% in Poland, and 9% in France. They made up 23% in 1941, and were thrown almost entirely out of service by 1943, to include most Panzer III models that were later converted into either Ausf.Ns in very limited numbers, or STuGs.
