when slam hit the radio, i had a friend who went into Onyx HARD. he shaved his head and began wearing big, black, baggy clothes. the main issue, it was the summer.
ONYX is the best hip hop group of their time! We see Sticky Fingaz and Fredro Starr in acting than anything else that we know of. Both of them are still acting. Slam is still a classic song today! Thank goodness they didn’t became sellouts like some of their hip hop peers!
Solid info. A couple of things to note: Not only was Strapped the first movie that Fredro and Sticky were in, but several tracks from Bacdafucup were used for the movie's soundtrack. Also, in recent years, Fredro battled Keith Murray on the mic. It wasn't the greatest, but it was entertaining. On a better note, Onyx did collab with British rap group D.O.D. on several tracks, including "XXX" in 2020. And when Onyx did "Last Dayz pt. II" with Dead Prez, they featured Sonny Seeza's voice on there as a shout out to him. So even though he isn't active with Onyx, Fredro and Sticky still make sure to show love To Sonny.
Theses east coast katz brought a hard originality to hip hop and I like how some members found success outside of music. Slammin' piece here. Gonna do 1 on digital underground??
Rest in peace jam master Jay, 50, Cent said it best, despite getting famous, he was the only one who didn’t leave his hood. he ended up getting caught in some sucker shit.
Sometimes it’s like you read my mind with these videos. I was literally just Googling Sticky Fingaz’s fine ssa😍 after seeing him on an episode of The Parkers 2 days ago lol. Then I look at latest videos of UA-cam channels I subscribe to and what do I see…..😊 Yo,you really did the knowledge !
They had mad NY swag and it was authentic; unlike their predecessors from NY who came out flashy and flossy, which was less authentic when representing the masses from your communities.
So many east coast rappers tried to copy Onyx's style in 93 that it contributed to the staleness that existed (in east coast hip-hop) until 'Enter the Wu-Tang' dropped. That wasn't Onyx's fault, but history shows that when a hot gimmick appears in hip-hop, everyone jumps on it to make a quick buck.

Onyx was one of my favorite Hip Hop groups as a kid! Bacccdafuccup album was dope!

Even Fredro Starr made an appearance on an episode of the 2008 short-lived sitcom Under One Roof with Flavor Flav

Me and my friends shaved our heads bald because of onyx
Onyx helped create the prison system extremely profitable in the early 90's.
No they didn't. Criminals made the prison system extremely profitable
"I remember pacifically..."
Herbal refreshment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:23 onyx, nice 👍🙂 rap group.
2:02 the song slam, is banging.
Back in the day, everyone took mean face pics, for what? I think it's a reaction to the feminine pics of the 80's artists took.
Rage rap legends!
