Some great shots. Unfortunately "tramspotting" might have been a more appropriate title, however there were two real trains near the end of the video. The 22k sets are noisy and uncomfortable compared to the CAF Mk4 coach sets which are ultra quiet and smooth running. Not a fan of the DMU trams

sorry to say this but I'm afraid that 1,600mm track [full gauge] is NOT light rail 🙄

Sure. It’s just those dmu’s they replaced the mk3 stock with are so noisy and uncomfortable akin to the LUAS on 5’3”. Preferred the diesel motive power up front or at the back rather than under the floor.

@@oceanfroggie Sometimes you have to look under the bonnet - the Mark 3s had corrosion issues, poor toilets and especially were not very accessible for those with disabilities (same story with the Mark 2s and Cravens). At least with the current stock of today you can charge your phone, use the onboard wifi and use wheelchair-friendly toilets.

@@IrishRailFan201 Yes I hear you. As a passenger we don't book trains to cork unless they are CAF mk4 sets. We just won't travel on the 22k sets. BTW, the 22k set loos are disgusting and not accessible unless they have one of the 1st class intermediate elements with the large rotary doors for wheel chair access. Nearly all the WCs in 22k sets are narrow doors to a disgusting smelly mess inside. Perhaps the problem with WCs is the pimeavil ape clients who use them rather than the design, but you have to design for the medium type of user. I get the business case, less staff, no shunting, no runarounds, less track work needed, less loops, faster turnarounds, but at the expense of passenger comfort on long trips. That vibrating endless hum under the floor is awful as well as the dickensian WCs
