Will your DSP settings stay on the mic if you switch to another computer? My work PC won't allow the software to be installed, so it would be great if I could set it up on one PC and have the settings saved in the mic to the work PC.
Yes! The DSP settings are retained in the mic so you can set it up on a personal device and then connect it to your work device. I have the same issue with my day job and it worked no problem for me.
No one of the other options can compete with the shure mv7+ and mv7. The Shure microphones simply make the most natural sound as opposed to the artificially exaggerated sound of the cheaper options. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the sound quality of the microphones increases with the price. So, the winner is the smb7 followed by the mv7+ and mv7.
the sm7b is not recommended for casual use since you need an audio interface and a way to increase gain the mv7+ is much simpler as its usb and does the job for almost all uses except for recording vocals (at least on a professional level) from podcasting to talking to friends online, to zoom calls, streaming, recording videos and much more

But if you don't want customization, the SM7B is the answer, with more bang for your buck. with additional equipment and difficulties in portable use, such as connecting to a mobile phone for live broadcasting, etc.
For personal use, the Fifine AM8 works alright. For a bit mor pro use, the Rode is becoming a very attractive option. The MV7+ is way overprized in this category and, as you said, there's more competition now.
Great review! Also great selection for comparisons too. Love the Podmic USB out of them all, even tho it leans a tiny bit bright. The MV7 + is a great mic, but that price...

also WAY more expensive since you need a preamp and interface ON TOP of the mic cost. so yea its obv going to sound better. the mv7 is is entry level as far as podcasting mics go since you can always convert to XLR later down the line for better sound quality.
I bought one just now, receiving it tomorrow. I used a at 2020 and I felt like upgrading a bit without having to shovel out too much for a shire mic (I wanted the one everyone wants lol) but I think I might like this one a bit. Seems better than the at, but I’ll see

its honeslty an amazing mic for anyone watching this video or reading the comments. i purchased the mv7+ few days ago instead of the regular mv7 just because of the usb C update and i can plug usb C and XLR and use them both at the same time. Yes its nearly $100+ more but in my opinion its worth it if you dont mind saving up a bit more or if you have the money already. Love my purchase, felt like the sm7b is to much forr what i want to do and the mv7+ is in the middle and i personally think it is perfect for what i use it for
The MV7+'s software is very well made, allowing us to create a wide variety of sounds. It might not be as good as the SM7B, but if it's tailored to you, it's worth it. Guaranteed to be another interesting microphone.

The rode nt1 5th gen is really the only real competition in the usb space. Tho that's also a condenser mic.

Hmm, on my KRK Rokit 6 G3's I prefer the sound of the Podmic vs the Shure with no DSP on this video
