Love these videos! I could not keep up with him! If he gets going straight he is going to go!!! Love how honest you are❤️. Nice job!!! He is such a wonderful mover!!
I can't get enough of these training videos and you're doing such a wonderful job with him. I do hope you're able to keep him and continue his training journey x
Really enjoyed this video. Not having to work at commercial speed is a huge benefit to starting your own horse. Provided of course that is one's skill set. Have decided that I will definitely start my own horse as I don't think a commercial environment or commercial speed will suit him. He's an interesting, problematic, hot horse who has been handled by people who feel frustrated with him.
I love this series and I hope you continue on with it! I have learned a lot of good tips. I was really involved with backing my 5 year old when he was 2 & 3 years old (we had a trainer working with us). I am going to start doing more with my 2 year old this autumn and winter (again we will be with a trainer) but I want to do and learn as much as I can.
Lovely progress again. It's great to see some kind and patient horse training, and I really like the voiceover reminding us all of the horse's perspective which is so important. Will look forward to seeing his hacking adventures when he gets to that stage. Clever boy! :)
Loving these videos! I’ve recently made the jump and rescued a horse, brought him into work and completed our first dressage test yesterday, they really are very rewarding ❤
Hi evie , I addmeryou for trying so hard for sharing all you do. Red has come on so well , I USD to do a pony in about six months , AND I was working full time .at a different yard so I did it in my spare time . I USD to go longing up the drive or round the fields, as it was on a farm . Thank you for sharing all you do, AND take care and all the best both .thank your mum for helping you out. 😊😊👍👍💖💟
Honest question as I have never started a young horse: I’ve seen many trainers do it the way you are doing it, with the reins draped over the length of the body while the horse goes round. What is the benefit of doing it this way instead of adding a device to the surcingle to feed the reins through so it raises them over the withers to mimic the position of the hands? If that makes sense?

Crumbs he has such a long walk/trot stride doesn’t he!!
Fascinating to watch him de-sensitising via repetition and giving him time. Great stuff 👏👏

I was shown how to use the long reins by a former French Olympic team trainer. It was magical what he could do with them.
It’s definitely a skill! I find it so impressive watching more established horses working on them!
