    I love your vlogs, you are honest with us, but more so you are honest with yourself, and theres no point beating yourself up about issues, theres always another day. Donut and Maggie are looking amazing and doing so well, I feel especially Donut, his dressage was amazing to watch, he looks so relaxed during it, and is trying so hard. It was awesome to see. You will get where you want to be, I know it, good things take time, and your a amazing person, I love everything in your vlogs especially how you are with your horses, please don't be hard on yourself, i know it will come together for you. 😊

    Thank you for sharing this true to life vlog ❤️ you are such an inspiration to me, an adult amateur who is coming back into eventing after 20 years ❤️ not every day nor event will be perfect, and we will always have room to improve. You ALWAYS put your horses first and in that way you will ALWAYS win. Sending love from the USA 🇺🇸

    Don't be too hard on yourself. Remember you are riding injured. I love your brutal honestly and attitude to life and it is important to show all the highs and difficult times of owning and competing with horse's. It's important to show that life with horses is not all about galloping around the countryside and winning pretty ribbons ❤

      With so much running in your life with job and studying, alongside horse life maintenance, and shows, you can be totally human and have some reactive vibes on horseback,especially 2 horses at such a qualifier level! We love following your riding expertise and expressive training methods ! All good going

    Oh bless you - the mind is such a powerful thing and your horses will pick up on vibes, sure that was what happened with Donut. Maggie has indeed done so well to get to where she is - you perhaps need to cut yourself a little slack, just as you would your beloved horses. Life is not linear and so long as you are all sound, learn from the experience, onward and upward!!! Some times we do everything we can and nothing goes right, other times we hardly bother and it all goes right - that is life! Been there, done that, got many many t shirts. Take care.

    Love your vlogs and how your share the good and the bad! I also love how calm you are during everything! Stress doesn't help that is for sure.. Horses are so humbling and you do so well with all of yours. You will get there! Nice job thinking of your horses first! Climbing up is so very hard and so many horse people seem to need support while going through it. You are not alone💕

    I was listening to a pod cast with simon grieve and he was saying so much of eventing is the Riders Mindset. So it does happen to uou all at sometime but having a good support network certainly helps.
    Glad your next event went better for you ❤

    You’re amazing. Pay attention to What you say in your head, cut any negative thought. Just block it as you feel it arrive. Replace with anything positive you can think of in that moment, then be grateful for all the goodness, of which you have plenty. You will get to that picture in your mind of the positive future, focus, be kind to your self and always enjoy the ride.

    Thanks for sharing Evie! This is why I love your vlogs! You're so honest! I can't even pluck up the courage to do a dressage test and when I do I feel my nerves get in the way and I let my boy down, so knowing that better more experience ruders feel the same gives me hope xxx

    Aww Evie sending big hugs to you. Donut had a lovely dressage test and jumps these days fall down with the slightest of touches. Maggie is just getting her mojo back as are you. You have been through so much recently and I know it will all come good for you going forward as your horses are so lovely and You have such a great rapport with your horses. Just remember to give yourself some me time ❤❤❤❤

    I don't know why I think this but Donut looked particularly 'grown up' for his dressage :D Thank you for being so open about the tricky bits and sharing your reflections on mindset. I am facing a similar frustration of 'I used to do this, I can do this, so why am I getting all nervous and acting like I can't?!' albeit I'm working at the level of going for a walk and trot hack not a BE event! That said, I do try to take from your example of not letting the emotions get in the way of reflecting, learning, and having a plan to keep working on it.

    • @ELSEventing
      @ELSEventing  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes I agree, he’s really starting to look more comfortable in the dressage arena.
      We’re all in it together with the mindset work, I think it’s important to create some discussion about it to make it more normal ♥️

    I love your vlogs, Evie. Donut jumped beautifully & bravely. Be kind to yourself. You're an amazing equestrian and person. I hope you are healing well from your injuries. I did wonder if you were still a bit physically unbalanced from your injuries, which would be perfectly understandable. Enjoy your horses & ease up on the self-criticism. I am sure you will be achieving great things. Enjoy the journey. Your followers will thoroughly enjoy being taken along with you❤

    I didn’t have a great run at Frickley either and don’t seem to have a good track record there either 🤦‍♀️! Fell off at the fence at the other side to where Donut stopped (in the 90 ) so it’s not just you. I was super disappointed too after a good dressage and showjumping but you can’t win them all. That’s what I tell myself anyway. I can definitely understand waiting to give yourself time to reflect. I agree with your points on Maggie I’ve seen you both do better tests but Donut looked brilliant in his dressage and they were both jumping brilliantly just one of those days. You have a brilliant partnership with both of them onwards and upwards 😊

    I'm not surprised you was a little bit nervous going out in to the unknown especially after that big fall you had not so long ago, i just hope that with time you will overcome all of this and your confidence back, every day can't be a good day, but you went and tried your best! but on that day it wasn't good enough, please don't be so hard on yourself! It's going to take time to get that fall out of your mind all together! As that will be the first thing that comes to mind when you getting tacked up!

    I've always wondered if horses can smell the fear of a previous horse at a fence. We used to call them bougie fences.

    • @ELSEventing
      @ELSEventing  2 місяці тому

      Possibly although I’m not sure that having 2 to ride was the struggle, I think it was more of a mindset / distraction issue ♥️

    Just out of curiosity, when you have two horses competing at the same event, do they use the same dressage ring.

    • @ELSEventing
      @ELSEventing  2 місяці тому

      Not unless they are in the same section. They were in a different sections this day so had different judges x
