It did operate the first commercial service for the 777, but wasn’t the first, or even the second 777 to be built. Those honors would go to B-HNL of Cathay Pacific and N774UA of United Airlines respectively. B-HNL was retired in 2018 and is preserved at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Arizona, while N774UA remains in service today with United.

Noted that today, 27 years later, Singapore Airlines livery is still uchanged! I wager that Singapore Airlines will never change their livery, the impact and the idea of it would be just too great, for the airline and the industry!
Ahh memories. I flew from Detroit to Paris in 97 on a Northwest DC-10. The tri motors are almost gone. L1011 was sexy and fast 💨. In America just UPS and Fed Ex still fly MD 10 and MD 11
2:31 This aircraft started with Northwest Orient Airlines in 1973, it then was in Northwest Airlines in October of 1986 eventually the airframe was scrapped.

Only planes I can tell by the sound now a days are triple 7s
back when if a plane was passing you couldn't talk
Remember the video cameras back then weighed 20 lbs. Who ever filmed this, your a hero.
Thank you for this brings back so many memories seeing these plabes
Very welcome!
