- We were lucky enough to be booked on the First Ever Alton Towers VIP Iconic House and Garden Tour and what a tour it was.
After many years of being closed due to the increasing wear and tear as well as intentional damage, the Alton Towers Ruins are now open to guests as part of a VIP tour of the house and gardens.
This 2 hour tour contains a weath of information as well as access to restricted areas of the park for a true behind the scenes experience.

okay I am a pass holder and OBV don't pay for the entry and agree £10 is not to bad price however for a none pass holder it takes 2 hours of your day that many people have also paid £50+ to get in. Also people who don't like rides/have a park tickets should be able to pay the £10 and be collected from out side the resort to come in do the tour and then be taken back out at the end like Chessington offer with the tours they do. Glad you enjoyed it though ... will try it soon :~P - Just a quick add on - you mentioned that £10 is going to help with the "none graffiti aspect" ---- just because they are adding a tour does not mean they can not stop people going in to it so that COULD still happen" also the £ 10 you mentioned will "Just cover the staff wages" so wont go to the restoring of the vandalism unfortunately.
100% agree this should be available without a park ticket. I assume that the extra cost in managing and organise that have put a stop to that idea though 👍🏻
