Square Enix wrote an article on their site that goes in great depth anout changes and features. Gerard (or however hes spelt) is in a lot of this trailer, im curious how the forced generation change will be implemented
The Direct was amazing, there were a LOT of fantastic announcements! I was mostly watching to get more news on the Dragon Quest remakes teased last month on DQ Day but the RS2 3D remake stole the show for me. What an incredible surprise, we just got Emerald Beyond and now this is coming in only a few months?! So stoked for this, what a great year for SaGa!
I just picked up the remaster this weekend and got to my first forced Ascension, 250 years into the future.. Really excited to go home and find out how it affects the story and my Kingdom! Really love the idea of generations passing to deal with this threat.
Haven't played re:universe in a long time but when I saw this get announced I had to come and get your take on it. Looking super forward to it, hopefully this is the first step into getting more full remakes!
There is a couple of things I seen in the trailer that I liked, so the weakness boxes are like Octopath Traveler. The Timeline is like Mana Khemia. The Options of what you can do. The Overdrive System reminds me of Re:Universe honestly. The formations look good, and they're one of the hallmarks of the series. Glimmer being confirmed is one of those things the OGs wouldn't need, but it'd always nice to know it's confirmed. The Elemental Layer(?) reminds me of Romancing SaGa 3 when you cast a spell to generate that Elemental Field. I think it was in RS2 first, but I didn't play that game yet. You caught a lot of things Scher.
Oh... Mana Khemia was released after Atelier Iris, but it's same company and was also inspired by Grandia, many are also pointing a similar timeline system on Octopath that I never played. Overdrive here seems to be even stronger than RS since it looks to increase damage by much more. About Elemental Field on RS3 you're right but it wasn't something on all fights, I'll make more videos on this game in the future

By the way, it is well known that the seven heroes who appear as enemies are victims. The story of Romancing Saga 2 is said to be modeled on the Akira Kurosawa movie "Seven Samurai," but the subtitle "Revenge of the Seven" could be taken to mean that the heroes who once saved mankind were sent out as enemies in deformed forms to take revenge for a debt they owed, but were actually victims of the Seven Heroes.
i'm looking forward to this because i have never play RS2. i was bummed no SF2 remaster showed up but we know it is coming so just have to wait longer.
I knew you'd be making a video on this. But man I don't think that anyone expected this remake. Especially when a small development team like the saga team somehow worked on a new game and a big remaster at the same time.
It's a nice surprise, I hope is good. To be honest, I had HIGH expectations in Saga Emerald Beyond. But it felt like a cheap mobile game design, with a nice battle system and music only.
hmmm I believe they spent more time designing the gameplay and structure and it was more about the world than the characters, this one is also more about world building but seems like they want to make Gerard and Leon survive a lot longer
It's been said Yoshiro Ambe is the artist for this and also worked on Trials of Mana so that's where you might see some similarities.

For the record Gerard can do Cumberland scenario even in the original if you time it right

this game seems to be work of another company, the same that helped with Trials of Mana, much like with Star Ocean 2 R
