hey man, dont be discouraged by the number of views for your video. your science videos are great. there is no bullshit, you get right to the point, you explain with examples and you are clear. very good videos. (sometimes the accent is a bit hard to understand) but you are great teacher. keep going
You. Are. The. Man!! Videos are very detailed with relevant illustrations to make understanding even deeper. Truthfully your videos are most often all I need to understand the whole concept of a particular topic. Keep up the good work sir!
ITS REALLY HELPFUL MAIGAAADD. I used to not understand or forget what my lecturer said cuz less focus in the class but it's a blessing to have this video to explain what I missed. Thankyou!
Sir, your explanation is spot on! Thank you for educating us. I have to say, I'd rather have the tuition I paid for my Bio teacher to go to you. You have been a great help to us students, especially when many are taking up online classes. From Philippines with love!
i like your explanation and really help me alot! thank you! and it reminds me of my anatomy lab instructor. she is a doctor and pubilied a textbook back in india i heard. just as smart as you! :)
Great explanation Sir Just two questions- 1) Can chromosomes occur in any number of pairs? Like pairs of 4, 5 are also possible? What about humans? 2) Can we produce seedless watermelons by this way? Will it not have seeds due to odd number of total chromosomes?
I think Shomu would do a wonderful job explaining, I just wanted to insert my own general comment on it. Polyploidy, also referred to as WGD (Whole Genome Duplications) occurs in both plant and animals, but seen most frequently in plants. As a plant biology graduate student, one of the areas within my research investigates polyploidization within a particular plant genus. One of the hot research topics discussed regarding evolutionary significance of polyploidy is the correlation between polyploidy and plant diversification, especially amongst one of the most successful plant lineages, the angiosperms (flowering plants). There is a ton of phylogenetic data out there which shows WGD events amongst many angiosperms prior to the divergence of plant families, but it's difficult to pinpoint when ancestral WGDs have taken place. My research will be looking more closely at the potential correlation between WGD and asexual reproduction methods within my plant's genus.
Of the two diploid species, species I has 36 chromosomes and species II has 28 chromosomes. How many chromosomes would be found in an allotriploid individual? sir ,please tell the answer for this question
Sir, I hv one doubt can allopolyploid occur due to non-disjunction of meiosis ? I understood tht it occurs due to mating of different species. Pls help me...... Whereas autopolyploidy is due doubling of the genome. Can autopolyploidy occurs due to mating of 2 same species( meiotic non-disjunction).
I think what you say at 0:38 is wrong. If an organism that has two sets of chromosomes is diploid, then humans are polyploid because we have 23 sets of chromosomes. But we are diploid because despite having 23 sets of chromosomes, each set has two copies of chromosomes.
Thank you for your explaining. So in Allopolyploides we ALWAYS end up with gamte that is STERILE and has uneven number of chromosome or it depends on the species themselves if they are diploid or haploid? becuase if the each of the different species were diploid then they will produce normal gamete? and what about the (autopolyploides)! would you please explain it to me!
haifa alhadyian Hey :) Look I find biology really confusing. But I think the only difference is that auto polypoids include the same species so same set of chrmosones however i dont want to confuse You guide you wrong so I would recommend watching a video on it cheers God bless
Nazmul Hossain Monoploidy means the presence of a single copy of a single genome...It represent by x..It is haploid of diploid chromosome.. where as haploid represent the gametic chromosome no of a species.. and is denoted by n
You are best teacher on UA-cam.
Thank you so much for appreciating my efforts

Glad it helped
I am a biology student, and I find your videos very helpful. Thank you so much.
Glad to hear that you are getting benefit from the lectures
The internet tried to warn me that my studies would be saved by an Indian denizen. Good thing I listened!
Thank you

Thank you a lot sir. You made this complex thing to understand easily while I was struggling to dealt with.
Glad to hear that you're getting benefit from my lectures. Stay tuned for more
Thank you so much for this! I understand these concepts, but I am a visual learner and need them broken down. Thank you!
Thank you
Been reading about this half a day, but still couldn't get it. I understand it now. Thanks for the great explanation.

thank u.that was truly helpful!!but a little gloss and explanation on autopolyploids would have been appreciated! ! however was a good one.
Polyploidy has to be one of my favourite evolutionary subjects.

How does Allopolyploids occur in nature and how can we induce it ?
Pls can u do a tutorial video on autopolyploidy?

Good video but just a bit confused for the first one how is it 2n=6 isnt it three set of chromosone for species one its just confusing at that point
So can the triploid cells only be formed and tentraploids only be formed when alllopoidy occurs
Hi teacher!
Please decription about 4n meiosis?

That Triploid drawing seems more like a 2n=6 than a 3n=6 to me. Shouldn’t it be three lines for each chromosome?
very helpful and informational Thank u very much !

Please rply
yes

what is the difference between haploidy and monoploidy?? on the other hand what is the difference between polyhaploidy and polyploidy??
Nazmul Hossain Monoploidy means the presence of a single copy of a single genome...It represent by x..It is haploid of diploid chromosome..
where as haploid represent the gametic chromosome no of a species.. and is denoted by n
Sir for the allopolyploidy scenario, would the zygote have chromosome sets of 5n?
Thank you

hey buddy thank for dat... was wasting hours behind date thing..
thank u sir....
You're welcome
sir if two species have same no of chromosome then in the hybrid is even then how it can be sterile pls explain
Wat z the example for autoallopolyploid
Sir can u plzz tell me what is supermale and superfemale
