i like that you pointed out the too bright issue. something a lot of people dont grasp is that if its too bright and you are indoors you are just blinding yourself and defeating the purpose.
hey, i appreciate ur vid. I have L3 Illumination L10. Twist on/switch modes/off. It is small in size (1x AA), worked great before it broke (2 months old). Emailed the company for warranty repair, no response! Now I am going back to Fenix flashlights, they are build tough... I still have one over 10 yrs and works fine.
Picked up the Thrunite 1AV3 for Christmas and I have to say that I really like this flashlight. I should note it's my first "modern" flashlight, my older light which is now in my pack was a 2xAA Maglite with an old fashioned bulb.
The Manker E-11 is my new favorite light. Claims to put out 400 lumens with a sanyo eneloop pro. 800 with a good 14500. Its a really bright solid light at only $30. The light hasnt left my pocket since i received it. Great review, awesome lights.
Just the video I've been waiting for. I've been a bit hesitant on picking up a good flashlight, mostly because there's so many out there, ya know? This really helped!
Great EDC lights I use Flashlights everyday for work. Nebo edge 200 has worked well for me at work. I have been playing with the Thrunite lights and working well
Nice comparison video Ben. I carry the eagletac D25C Ti in pocket at work(at a major medical center). I have the D25 A Ti , as back up, in a maxpedition belt pouch with my cell phone, wallet, bullet space pen. I find I prefer the shorter format of the CR 123 battery for pocket carry. Outside of work, of late, I have been carring the olight S1 Baton Ti finish in a neutral white tint. You can twist the pocket clip dirrectly over or just next to the switch to act as a switch guard. I've found it to be very effective in stopping accidental in pocket activation! However, in defense of the twisty, I keep a thrunite Ti3 on my night stand so the click of a switch won't wake up the wife. I also have a solarforce L2P next to the alarm clock for times where creating a disturbance is not a concern!
For my edc needs, which are not very demanding, my Ti3 does the job and it's so easy to carry. I really like having a very low lumen mode in a versatile pocket carry light. And just in case I was to get myself into a situation where I needed extra run time, I carry a spare AAA, in a piece of straw (insulation), in an Altoids smalls tin (with other items). A AAA will fit, tightly, in a milkshake straw.
I have three or four of the L3 Illumination L11C lights, Ben. I like them also because they come in several colors and add to my edc through color coordination. I have the orange from this video along with a blue and a pink. Have a great day, Ben, and greetings from Pittsburgh. Stay Warm! Laura
I love my Thorfire penlight PF04 (2 AAA). Cheap, bright and been through the wash a few times, no problems. I also use the single mode Streamlight Stylus pro, but I had to change the tail switch because you can't turn it on/off with your thumb, you have to use the tip of your finger. Fenix though, makes the toughest, brightest light I have
nice review, i subscribed, very nice lights, many of them cant be found in my country (Romania) and buying from USA is a nightmare. may i suggest Manker E11 as an edc and Manker T01 vs2 as a little thrower? both single AA. E11 is moded with a better dedoomed driver. yet my favorite single aa is S1A Baton, i love that perfect large circle.
I EDC an Eagletac D25A Clicky along with a OLight S1A Baton. Both have worked well for me. I prefer the Tail Switch on the D25A Clicky over all side switches & it's never accidentally turned on in my pocket. If the OLight S1A Baton had a Tail Switch, it would be the Perfect EDC Light IMHO.
Hi, As I work with some chemical products, what torch you suggest? The most important details are: - made in metal - lens in glass - no plastic parts. Thanks in advance and best regards, Pedro
Nice review, I enjoy your channel. Quick FTY, I've spoken with the engineering department at Thrunite and they tell me the Archer will run with 14500, all modes remain the same except for high, which ramps up to 500lmn with the 14500. Thanks again
The ones that support either AA or 14500 are great options to have. I own a FENIX LD 09 & LD 11 & the output in lumens is bumped up considerably on highest mode with a 14500. But using AA is also plenty bright.
I have a Monster Pro Tango T. and a Fenix PD32 UE. I never see anything on these sights about either one. Did they fall out of favor or were they just not very good? I'd appreciate a real answer(advice). Thanks.
Gotcha, I have the titan plus and love it. Easy to twist with one hand. But I do sometimes wish it were a tail click. Great video. Also, I ordered the sun jack power bank light you reviewed, it came a day before the floods here in Baton Rouge, was a godsend!
good video Ben....you really need to try out the Jetbeam Jet AA....the twisty switch is smooth and easy done with one hand...and for under $13....worth a look...
yes it did and it showed the silver on the amazon page but got black. asked them and it came direct from eagletac. might be the nichia builds get the black or just that particular run.
Morning Ben, you do a great job producing videos! Much more informing and entertaining than most of the German or European youtubers. I think that in the end it's up to personal preference and I chose the Olight S15R Baton. So far I'm really satisfied with it. Greetings from Germany
D25C 219 is fantastic. I just wish the moonlight was much lower, close to the L3's. It heats up quickly on turbo, but there's a reason why these Eagtacs are more expensive. Eagtac is top of the line and they place their LEDs deeper than most, giving you good throw for the size/diameter. Almost Zebralight standard, but slimmer, lighter and better throwing.
Love my D25c! Have you tried the eagtac D25AAA? Awesome little light, 10440 compatible, deep carry pocket clip, no clicky but has a smooth twist head. As usual great video! Thanks Ben
i actually had a problem with my k18. i dont know why, but if i use it or not it drains my batteries within 2 days. alkaline, li ion, nimh all of them. even if i unscrew the head it seemed to happen. i was going to return it to going gear but my friend wanted it. he hasnt had that problem with his k18 but it killed his batteries too LOL. his problem now! really strange though. the button wasnt jammed or anything because it wasnt even on. i liked that light A LOT too.
hey Ben, I have 2 of the Olight s30r baton flashlights. one won't go above the .5 lumen setting after I dropped it. I love this light. I just bought 2 of the olight strikers for Christmas presents. what is a good 1100 lumen or better EDC flashlight that is the same size as the S30r or smaller? thanks as always for your help. Drew.
dude...help! I'm looking for a flashlight with a good battery life on medium mode. insane lumens aren't that important to me but would like at least 100+ I suppose. I want a pack light that will last like 12 hours on medium mode if needed and ipx-8...suggestions?
I was wondering if you can help me I have 3 small flashlight that it takes 3 aaa batteries the one's come with case to package into the flashlight and I want to look for the rechargeable battery that fit my lights
you mean the small cheap lights they sell everywhere? that has the 3 aaa that go into the small plastic cage then slide into the light? I do not think you can replace it with a single battery, it will not hold up to any kind of lithium rechargable, but you should be able to purchase NiMh aaa batteries to put in it.
Nice video. You should try Silkhunt DS-16 (my current favourite single 14500/AA size flashlight), it can use both 14500 and AA (Alc or Ni-MH), with max lumen of 500. It have low battery indicator and is IPX8. It looks something like Olight S1A, but with cooling fins, which I believe will be far cooler to handle for prolong use. It has a removable magnet below. I bought it from fast tech for around US$32. I recommend that you give it a try. But, if you don't want to risk spending your money or time on it as you may not like it, you can see a reviews of it first. Which I had done a review of it, on my channel some times back or you can see the review of it on other people's channel.
Thanks for replying about my comments! Raise your hand if you think there's way to many review on UA-cam about knives and flashlights?!! :-). they al work quite well for about 20, haha. I wanna see more videos on other cool survival stuff
Every time I try carrying a small flashlight that is a side switch activated light, it invariably ends up turned on in my pocket, or clipped to my pocket. I don't know what it is, but apparently my pocket is a sexy place to be if you are a side switch flashlight. So I'm glad to find out about the L3 Illumination L11C. That has a deep pocket clip and no side switch. Something I may have to order. Thanks!
Living Survival in case of SHTF scenario, and my rifles light is inoperable for what ever reason ..just looking to know if any of these will suffice ...but if you are not sure about..thats ok.
Living Survival plus..i like the idea they're double (A)battery powered...in SHTF...most solar powered pathway lamps are rechargeable AA therefore providing a long term source of power to the light
Living Survival ...wow...i found an inexpensive Amazon light ..called ULTRAFIRE that cosy me $5.99 for 2 lights..its bright..and most of all it can stand up to AK rifle shooting..got it mounted on my AK on a offset rail....this cheap but good flashlight goes by many other names...same light dozens of names.
One flashlight wasn't AA it was cr123. There are many other cr123 lights better than your choices. Olight being my favorites. S1 baton at 500 lm, and my personal s10r baton 2. Rechargeable with a charging base. Costs about the same as your pick. 5 year repair or replace warranty. Can't beat that.
Let me start off by saying I enjoy your channel. I do however question your decision to call this video Top 5 EDC Flashlights (AA). Maybe you should have called it Top 4 AA EDC Flashlights and My Favorite "AA sized" Flashlight. I know you put a lot of work into your channel and I appreciate it but I felt your decision to include a light that didn't fit the AA category and then declare it your favorite (which of course your right) was a little misleading. That being said, keep putting quality content and I'll keep watching and supporting the channel.
the one that isn't AA is still sized like a AA unlike the S1 by Olight that is a little bigger than a CR123A. Size was how I compared these like my last video with keychain lights. Not all were AAA but in the same size category.
I EDC the Thrunite T-10 (2016) with the xpl v6 led. Reverse click switch. 3 modes. moonlight, low and high. 250 lumens with cool white led. I've got the neutral white which is closer to 200 lumens. Single AA. Very deep carry pocket clip. Small and lightweight. Got mine for $23.95 on Amazon. Also has reversible pocket clip. Check it out. Take Care and Be Aware.
smallest AA/14500 flashlight I knew is the Jetbeam JET - I MK good and very affordable EDC flashlight runs with AA 150 lumens or 14500 480 lumens with heat protection got current dim no flicker from pwm, AR coated front glas with new account and newsletter points on gerarbest I got for 10.96€ price
Would have liked to have seen a D25A in there, instead of the D25C. It would have been a better comparison. One thing I try to stress to people when choosing an EDC light is to go with AA or AAA. The common battery type is more practical in both terms of availability and cost. If you want the li-ion performance you go with a light that can handle a 14500. I have plenty of 123 and 18650 lights, and I love them. They perform better in almost every way. However, my main light for true EVERYDAY carry is an AA light, because the common battery type will make it easier for you to acquire batteries in an emergency, especially if you are away from your stockpile of batteries at home. I learned this the hard way, twice!
Dunno anybody who uses a lanyard. Am looking for a side switch light with a hole for a split ring in the tail cap so I can carry it in my key chain, don't like too much stuff in my pockets and I have too much crud on my belt already. Leaning towards an Olight.
I have had a Fenix PD25 for years and it is just about perfect. For some reason, I thought I would try the Olight S1A and I absolutely HATE the fucking thing. It has a few more features but ends up just being gimmicky. The interface is super clumsy and clunky and for the $800 or whatever it was I paid for it, it just sits in my bag as a backup.
I'd personally swap the Archer for the T10. Easier to use, just as nice fit and finish, and a lot more budget-friendly at 25 bucks. But then, I guess you didn't receive it for review.
i had the t10t but i gave it to my sister. went with the neutral tint. i like that it was only 3 modes. wish it had the same ui as the eagletac so i could always get it to turn on in high first. i also wish it could run 14500's so i could get it brighter. the price is good and its an attractive light. mine came with the diffuser which i really liked. it carried well, especially with the nice low ride pocket clip. the performance with eneloops was average. i did like the neutral tint over the cool tint on my 1a v3. my sister needed a light and she liked it more than the 1a v3. the diffuser and tint really sold her so i gave it to her. i actually liked that it was a little longer than my d25a ti and similar shape, but the tailcap switch was a little awkward depending on how you grabbed it. it could tailstand though, but that made it harder to access the switch for me. it was less than half the price of my d25a ti so i HAD to try it.
i bash the archer 1a v3 every chance i get and praised the tn12 for years LOL. its the baby tn12! i didnt know it could run 14500's until yesterday and that made it a lot better. DAMMIT i wish someone would make a deeper carry pocket clip for this light. without the 14500 i dont like the tint. i really like the tint on nichia 219b's so much. i really like that l11c. the pocket clip looks great! i need to give that another look actually and pick one up. 14500 thoughhhhh! interestingly the pocket clip from the 1a v3 fits on the mi7 and will carry nice and low! i saw it on another channel man, try it out. it may win you over. i think im going to pick it up actually and get some more 14500's. ive had good luck with the fenix 14500 button top. im not the wildest about my s10r so i never got the s1a. i do like the magnetic tailcap but it annoys me in my pocket also. i had a few accidental activations with my s10r so i loosen the tailcap and have to double click after tightening it...carrying it like that is pretty annoying so it lives on the microwave or the fridge. ill grab it if i go in the yard or go under a car or something. ohhhh the eagletac d25c ti with nichia 219b is my love. i love it so much i bought the d25a ti but the nichia 219 was sold out so i settled for the xpl. ive had a few accidental activations but not many and i always carry one or the other. favorite lights lately. the ti models do get hot very fast...cuz i leave them on turbo haha. i do step it down when it gets warm though. FAVORITE ui. i. need. mode memory. id rather switch it myself. of course im a turbo first guy. really glad you made this video. i was going through the single aaa kick when you were doing that series and i got my collection to my satisfaction. been on the single aa kick ever since. problem is i keep finding myself chasing brightness so instead of using all these eneloops i love so much im throwing 14500's and 10440's in everything and then they get hot so i need to step it down or pull out another light. the d25c is fine for that though! ill be back to 18650's when it gets cold out haha. i still grab an 18650 light when i know ill need long runtimes. my tn12 is in my fleece right now with 2 back up panasonic 18650s d25c with the nichia 219 is GREAT. i think its my overall favorite.
Thrunite Archer V2 is the only light that has just quit working without any damage or water immersion . Won't buy them again . Sellers weren't interested .
All these high tech flashlights are nice but good ol' USA made led maglites are more than sufficient. Both the aa and 3 dcell options are bullet proof. Mine have fallen off of roofs and been run over by trucks and other equipment. I do not think these high tech flashlights can stand up to that.
Living Survival I've gotten my maglites pretty darn wet and they keep on working. For whatever its worth my edc consists of a 6" colt trooper in a shoulder holster, a buck 110, a supertool 300, leather work gloves, a klein 6in1 driver, aa mini maglite, benchmade 940, a zippo, my wallet, keys with a maglite solitaire and a little victorinox on them, a watch and my cellphone. However my job and lifestyle is different than most.
+Living Survival No they're not, Ben, you're very much right. They're IPX-4 at best. If the OP wants to stick to inferior equipment because 'murica, sad but it's his choice.
Looking at the Nichia on the white wall, they are yellow as hell, NOT neutral. "Daylight", depending on who you talk to, is either 5000K or 5500K. THAT is Neutral. 30yrs as a professional photographer and 15 years as a color print specialist gives me more than a little insight on the matter. The problem is, these reviews are almost invariably done by men...and most men are at least a little color blind. Consequently what YOU see as "neutral" is probably just compensating for your eyes. Want to really know what light looks neutral, ask your wife or girlfriend. Only 1% or so of women show any degree of color blindness. Don't believe me, look it up!
so as a photographer then you would know that the lens sees a different picture than your eyes unless your settings are compensating. i'm not a camera expert unfortunately.
My list..Finex ld 10, "Not 14500 compatible" Trustfire z2 "14500 compatible" Olight s15r baton "14500 compatible"Thrunite archer 1a v2"14500 compatible"Jetbeam Jet-1 MK "14500 compatible"Nitecore SRT3 Defender "14500 compatible"BTW your Olight S1A, DO NOT HAVE A LOCKOUT!....ironically .Olight s15r yes, do have a lockout...just to take out "misinformation"
the s1a certainly does have a lockout. give the tail cap a 1/8 turn and you are locked out. i actually prefer that method rather than an electronic lock like the mi7.
Not again, lockout was invented to prevent unscrewing the cap in the first place. Unscrewing, basically it's an old technique used before the lockout was invented.
i like that you pointed out the too bright issue. something a lot of people dont grasp is that if its too bright and you are indoors you are just blinding yourself and defeating the purpose.
yep.
hey, i appreciate ur vid.
It's by no means a small flashlight but I'm still rockin' the Klarus XT11S. Clipped in my pocket whenever I leave the house! Nice lineup and vid!
The Manker E-11 is my new favorite light.
Claims to put out 400 lumens with a sanyo eneloop pro. 800 with a good 14500.
Its a really bright solid light at only $30.
The light hasnt left my pocket since i received it.
Great review, awesome lights.
oh wow that light seems to be a deal! nice recommendation!
The Manker E-11 is one of my favorites as well. I have one in cool white tint, and another in natural white tint.
Just the video I've been waiting for. I've been a bit hesitant on picking up a good flashlight, mostly because there's so many out there, ya know? This really helped!
thanks for watching Ben.
Great EDC lights I use Flashlights everyday for work. Nebo edge 200 has worked well for me at work. I have been playing with the Thrunite lights and working well

nice, thanks for the comment.
I switch between the Mi7 and the S1a pretty regularly, both with 14500s. I still can't pick a favorite between them!
i prefer the clicky tail over the side switch. to me, locking out is a pain...
+Living Survival agreed when it comes to a tactical light. On these it's not as big a deal for me.
Does the S1a also tend to engage in the pocket?
I have three or four of the L3 Illumination L11C lights, Ben. I like them also because they come in several colors and add to my edc through color coordination. I have the orange from this video along with a blue and a pink. Have a great day, Ben, and greetings from Pittsburgh. Stay Warm! Laura

So I'm torn, I'm debating between the S1A and the S1R Turbo... Which do you think is better in terms of the lumens, battery options, and run times?
I EDC an Eagletac D25A Clicky along with a OLight S1A Baton. Both have worked well for me. I prefer the Tail Switch on the D25A Clicky over all side switches & it's never accidentally turned on in my pocket. If the OLight S1A Baton had a Tail Switch, it would be the Perfect EDC Light IMHO.
Is that a Archer 1A V3 in your pocket? Or are you just exited?
Great vid I think now I just need to choose which I like the most
Have you ever tested that L3 l11c anymore. I like the look of it but read a lot about the reliability of it ???
Hi,
As I work with some chemical products, what torch you suggest?
The most important details are:
- made in metal
- lens in glass
- no plastic parts.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Pedro
Have you used the LA Police Gear LP1, or LP2 pocket flashlights? Would love to see you review either, or both of those.
Nice review, I enjoy your channel. Quick FTY, I've spoken with the engineering department at Thrunite and they tell me the Archer will run with 14500, all modes remain the same except for high, which ramps up to 500lmn with the 14500. Thanks again

right on.
I have a Monster Pro Tango T. and a Fenix PD32 UE. I never see anything on these sights about either one. Did they fall out of favor or were they just not very good? I'd appreciate a real answer(advice). Thanks.
PD32 is a great light if you ware looking for 18650. I don't EDC a 18650 light.
Because of the ease of getting the batteries? What about the Monster? What's your take on the brand?
never heard of them.
Nice roundup man!
You need the Surefire Titan Plus in that group. Great video.
too expensive IMO and i prefer the tail clicky over twist.
Gotcha, I have the titan plus and love it. Easy to twist with one hand. But I do sometimes wish it were a tail click. Great video. Also, I ordered the sun jack power bank light you reviewed, it came a day before the floods here in Baton Rouge, was a godsend!
Which is the smaller of the two lights klarus or olight?
good video Ben....you really need to try out the Jetbeam Jet AA....the twisty switch is smooth and easy done with one hand...and for under $13....worth a look...
Just bought one on Amazon based on your recommendation. For that price with those specs I just couldn't pass it up.
looks like a great light. not a big fan of twisty heads though which is why i dont like the thrunite ti3.
did your Eagletac D25C come with the black clip? Seems like they all come with silver now.
yes it did and it showed the silver on the amazon page but got black. asked them and it came direct from eagletac. might be the nichia builds get the black or just that particular run.
Morning Ben, you do a great job producing videos! Much more informing and entertaining than most of the German or European youtubers.
I think that in the end it's up to personal preference and I chose the Olight S15R Baton. So far I'm really satisfied with it.
Greetings from Germany
thanks for the comment.
Enjoyed the vid, glad you get to do this full time!
D25C 219 is fantastic. I just wish the moonlight was much lower, close to the L3's. It heats up quickly on turbo, but there's a reason why these Eagtacs are more expensive. i agree, everything from eagletac has been amazing.
So.. Why is Zebra Light not even considered in ANY of your reviews?
Love my D25c! Have you tried the eagtac D25AAA? Awesome little light, 10440 compatible, deep carry pocket clip, no clicky but has a smooth twist head. As usual great video! Thanks Ben
i prefer the clicky.
Favorite EDC light... Convoy HP1... one AA... On and Off clicky... no Turbo, High, Lo or Moonlight... then No light.. simply light when you need it!
Good video.I like Ultratac K18,Jetbeam jet AA,Eagletac D25A,Olight S1,Zebralight sc51.
i actually had a problem with my k18. i dont know why, but if i use it or not it drains my batteries within 2 days. alkaline, li ion, nimh all of them. even if i unscrew the head it seemed to happen. i was going to return it to going gear but my friend wanted it. he hasnt had that problem with his k18 but it killed his batteries too LOL. his problem now!
really strange though. the button wasnt jammed or anything because it wasnt even on. i liked that light A LOT too.
Maybe has a leek, and drains batteries.
hmm maybe! its a shame though cuz its a great keychain or pocket light. took my button top and flat top 10440's as well as eneloops
Great Vid!! keep up good work, AA sized lights have a long way since MAGLITE .
I'm kinda confused..I thought you were Realy stoked about the ea11??...maybe it should have been #5 instead of the eagtac.
nice flashlights all of them.
hey Ben, I have 2 of the Olight s30r baton flashlights. one won't go above the .5 lumen setting after I dropped it. I love this light. I just bought 2 of the olight strikers for Christmas presents. what is a good 1100 lumen or better EDC flashlight that is the same size as the S30r or smaller? thanks as always for your help.
Drew.
Congratulations on video, my friend!
I have the Ti version of the Eagtac - it's a pretty fantastic EDC.
Hey Ben i been looking for a AA flashlight thanks man! Good vid
thanks, hope it helps.
Si ma dove si comprano ???
great video!
dude...help! I'm looking for a flashlight with a good battery life on medium mode. insane lumens aren't that important to me but would like at least 100+ I suppose. I want a pack light that will last like 12 hours on medium mode if needed and ipx-8...suggestions?
pretty much all of these will last at least 12 hours on medium.
+Living Survival thanks man
L3 is very slim and light, although it's build quality seems a little lower than others in your video.
l3 is a great light.
I was wondering if you can help me I have 3 small flashlight that it takes 3 aaa batteries the one's come with case to package into the flashlight and I want to look for the rechargeable battery that fit my lights
18650 rechargable Lithium available on Ebay or Amazon is what I use.
you mean the small cheap lights they sell everywhere? that has the 3 aaa that go into the small plastic cage then slide into the light?
I do not think you can replace it with a single battery, it will not hold up to any kind of lithium rechargable, but you should be able to purchase NiMh aaa batteries to put in it.
You forgot to mention the Clarus has a neat battery level function buy flash counts!! Also has strobe and sos
it sure does ;)
Nice video.
You should try Silkhunt DS-16 (my current favourite single 14500/AA size flashlight), it can use both 14500 and AA (Alc or Ni-MH), with max lumen of 500. It have low battery indicator and is IPX8. I recommend that you give it a try. But, if you don't want to risk spending your money or time on it as you may not like it, you can see a reviews of it first. Which I had done a review of it, on my channel some times back or you can see the review of it on other people's channel.
Very good comparison:) enjoyed it.
thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed your weekend.
I liked this run ,,,nice to see :)
Hola Ben... I did enjoy the video...
thanks my friend.
Maybe the Fenix RC05 would be a great option too
Nice Job!!!
I recently purchased the sofirn sf14, takes a 14500 battery, highest output of 600 lumens, has 3 settings starts off on low, only 14 dollars
Thanks for replying about my comments! Raise your hand if you think there's way to many review on UA-cam about knives and flashlights?!! :-). they al work quite well for about 20, haha. I wanna see more videos on other cool survival stuff
I got 2 knives that have a built in lights and removable lower power flashlight!
i try to stick to only the ones I like best. i agree way too many knives and flashlights.
Thanks!
price is right ;)
Any of these AA battery lights stand up to AR Rifle recoil?
why would you put one of these on a AR?
Living Survival it can survive 60 rounds of 7.62x39 rifle fire ..I know it can survive 5.56 or .223 AR rifle recoil.
parabéns, gosto muito dos seus vídeos ... gostaria de poder comprar alguns produtos,

Can't beat that.
yep one was but it is AA size unlike the S1 which is too small IMO. The S1A is better all day long.
I just got the s1r. 900 lumens! love it for edc.
You should try skilhunt DS-16.
Sell all of those and buy the Olight S1R. I'm done buying edc flashlights. Expensive but the best edc on the Market, and I prefer magnetic butts.
Johannes Blub I got the s30r II, rocking it for about a years now, is perfect for almost everything, only con is that little too big...
+Living Survival I appreciate the clarification.
Nice review Ben....
Take Care and Be Aware.
smallest AA/14500 flashlight I knew is the Jetbeam JET - I MK
good and very affordable EDC flashlight
runs with AA 150 lumens or 14500 480 lumens with heat protection
got current dim no flicker from pwm, AR coated front glas
with new account and newsletter points on gerarbest I got for 10.96€ price
eagletac currently unavailable via link
Still unavaialble 30 days later
I learned this the hard way, twice!
d25a is a nice light but i am on a nicha kick. wish they made it with that.
I'm debating on getting the UltraTac A1. It can handle alkaline and Ni-MH AAs. It can also take button top and flat top Li-ion cells as well.
I like your hair!
Thanks bro!
Someone stole my Clarus so I got for 10$ less a manker e11. Up to 800 lumen slightly longer and comes with a really nice adjustable strap!
It comes With aa neutral or cool white option the manker e11
looks like a nice light. i may pick one up.
Dunno anybody who uses a lanyard. Am looking for a side switch light with a hole for a split ring in the tail cap so I can carry it in my key chain, don't like too much stuff in my pockets and I have too much crud on my belt already. Leaning towards an Olight.
there are many lights from nitecore, olight, thrunite, ultratac that have split rings that come with them.
PD 35 Fenix 960 lumen is small package love mine👍
Ben you are forgetting the best and least expensive AA EDC - The Thrunight T10!!!!! and bring back Kristen will ya!
not a big fan of the t10!
But then, I guess you didn't receive it for review.
very true, I forgot about that one. I would carry that over the 1av3 as well. thanks!!!
no thrunite t10?
nope.
+Living Survival why? 😊
i had the t10t but i gave it to my sister. went with the neutral tint. i like that it was only 3 modes. wish it had the same ui as the eagletac so i could always get it to turn on in high first.
i also wish it could run 14500's so i could get it brighter. the price is good and its an attractive light. mine came with the diffuser which i really liked. it carried well, especially with the nice low ride pocket clip.
the performance with eneloops was average. i did like the neutral tint over the cool tint on my 1a v3. my sister needed a light and she liked it more than the 1a v3. the diffuser and tint really sold her so i gave it to her.
i actually liked that it was a little longer than my d25a ti and similar shape, but the tailcap switch was a little awkward depending on how you grabbed it. it could tailstand though, but that made it harder to access the switch for me.
it was less than half the price of my d25a ti so i HAD to try it.
i bash the archer 1a v3 every chance i get and praised the tn12 for years LOL. its the baby tn12! i didnt know it could run 14500's until yesterday and that made it a lot better.
FAVORITE ui.
i. need. mode memory. id rather switch it myself. of course im a turbo first guy.
really glad you made this video. i was going through the single aaa kick when you were doing that series and i got my collection to my satisfaction. been on the single aa kick ever since. problem is i keep finding myself chasing brightness so instead of using all these eneloops i love so much im throwing 14500's and 10440's in everything and then they get hot so i need to step it down or pull out another light. the d25c is fine for that though!
ill be back to 18650's when it gets cold out haha. i still grab an 18650 light when i know ill need long runtimes. my tn12 is in my fleece right now with 2 back up panasonic 18650s
d25c with the nichia 219 is GREAT. i think its my overall favorite.
thanks for the comment!
I liked your video on the Nitecore MH20GT better.
Let there be light
Thrunite Archer V2 is the only light that has just quit working without any damage or water immersion . Won't buy them again . Sellers weren't interested .
I like the Orange one because, la de da.
L11C is my choice.
( still in my coppery phase )
you are cool
Prefer Klarus myself
EDC = every day carry
I rather use my Quest pocket flashlight with one AA battery.
thrunite t10
Ahh, I got it.. Amazon..
All these high tech flashlights are nice but good ol' USA made led maglites are more than sufficient. Both the aa and 3 dcell options are bullet proof. Mine have fallen off of roofs and been run over by trucks and other equipment. I do not think these high tech flashlights can stand up to that.
these are just as bulletproof and also IPX-8 waterproof which to my knowledge maglites are not.
+Living Survival
No they're not, Ben, you're very much right.
Living Survival That my friend is an Excuse Not a Lockout
it is for sure a lockout and like i said i prefer it. some lights wont do that without unscrewing the cap all the way. the s1a does.
Not again, lockout was invented to prevent unscrewing the cap in the first place. Unscrewing, basically it's an old technique used before the lockout was invented.
you just didn't want to lose...
im fourth comment yeahhhh
those baby flashlight will not do the job, buy a 30-40 amp 18650 and a 18V CREE, stop buying the names they sold out yrs ago. you got ripped off!!
First
M20 warrior, yours no match for it.
Just picked up the Nitecore EA11. I am shocked to not see it here in this line up!
i have it, the head is a little big for me to pocket carry.
