Cheers ben. Think they are getting some solid attention already and we have not even got to the racing etc! Good year ahead! Glad ya here to watch it al happen!
Just blows me away how super smooth the bike is , just soaks everthing up , obviously your smooth riding style helps 😉 but God that bikes impressive. That last run was epic .
Been there, done that. Super powerful especially with my Trickstuff Direttissima. I went back to 203 though as my Formula Selva Coil didn't have a PM 7 mount.
Damn mate,Your a speed demon,That bike looks awesome, hope ye get settled and smash the Enduro season.OH aye and my eyeballs have just stopped rattling trying to keep up :p
I clicked the buy button the morning I saw the Druid hit IG. Been on it for about 9 months and it is truly amazing ride. Wanted to get a new bike for this year and nothing stood out to me that could replace it.
Tried the Magura 220mm disc on Friday and Sunday with sintered pads and very wet conditions and it works very well great power but good modulation in the wet conditions.
What got you running the 36 elites this year, is there any point where you’d want to put the step cast gold 36s on? Bike looks sick loving the videos keep em coming 👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥
Mate your speed is unreal !! Good things lye ahead this year for sure lad !!! A seen a few comments have been made on this suspension travel ect... your the pro what's your honest view on it? Will it really matter so much ect? End of day who needs suspension when your flying over everything!! Ha ha 😉🙌🤘 great video as always man and like av said before all the best and genuinely thanks for the insight into how you ride and do things sets ups ect👍
Thanks man. Honestly, I think this video just shows what you can do with the bike and how capable it is even if it is 130mm/150mm travel. It’s an unreal ride & very capable for its travel. EWS events are being won on 140/150mm travel bikes. Bigger travel is nice, but it’s what you do with it etc. Thanks for the nice words dude!
Bike sounds lush...it's all in your set up...not how much travel you have but how you ride it....bet it pedals really well something a bigger travel bike wont. I want to trst ride one. Also what timing was you using?
Excellent vid Lewis! Do you time yourself to see if the amendments to brakes and suspension have helped? Or do you just go off how the bike feels and handles? Looked super fast on last run almost catching dh bike at midpoint.
@@LewisBuchanan one more question dude, u obviously fast rider but do you notice or feel quicker on forbidden say compared to nukeproof mega? Only u were pretty quick on that too.
Yeah I honestly feel more comfy and that the Druid is a better fit size wise for me. The nukeproof was nice for sure but I feel more at home On the bike!
Coil feels amazing. Very supple, does not heat up, rebound stays consistent. Steel spring would be bit heavier but other than that I would say there are a lot of positives to running a coil shock
Great vid, bike looks awesome, you seem well happy with it. Do you normally try and have the compression and rebound pretty similar front to back to keep it balanced, if not what do you prefer??
Just curious, I understand the 29er having greater rotational mass but if you put a big rotor on the rear, you’re surely more likely to lock up the back wheel as your mass is usually directed forwards ? Maybe you mentioned it in the vid, if so, apologies ! Awesome speed, great to watch. Subscribed.
Yeah good point. Honestly I am not that mechanically or engineering smart at all haha. The positives for me was that it was super powerful and I liked the feel. I need to experiment a bit more though! Thankyou for the kind words!
Not sponsored by fox. Just my chosen helmet for now. Smith are a part of my program though yes. They have sickest range of goggles!!! Well happy with them. Thanks for the comment man
Hi Lew ! Great video . In previous video you say something like "i don´t wanna go with a bigger frame frame on a 29er" , can you explain more on that? Do you feel a bigger frame on a 29er is worst than a smaller one or is it just personal preference? Cheers , best of luck this season! keep those videos coming, they´re very interesting
Thanks a lot! Yeah I just was afraid at first to go for a large or xl frame on a 29”. I wanted it to still turn well on the tighter trails etc (switchbacks). I think it’s personal preference. But I ended up going for a large which I am now on and it’s the perfect fit for me. The medium that I am riding in the video was too cramped and short feeling. Thanks a lot for your feedback. I am glad you are enjoying it
Bro….. You were killin it! I have you on my Pinkbike Fantasy Enduro tteam!! No doubt ill be rackin back points becuz of you lol! How did you like the Dissector rear tire?? i heard you say you will switch to the minion for faster rolling?? Are you saying the DHR2 is faster rolling than the Dissector? Awesome vid man, cant wait for next week!
Yo dude thanks so much. Heads up, I won’t be at the first two rounds I’m afraid. But I’ll be at all the others. I love the dissector for fast rolling. The minion DHF in the rear works well also and is fast rolling too. 🙏🏼
Lewis Buchanan yeah they’re like a stick in the he wheel on the front, but I’ve seen Baptiste Pierron was running 246mm ones in a few world cups last season which has to be absolutely nuts!
Mate, you deserve a sponsor like this, your bound to give forbidden the attention they deserve
Cheers ben. Think they are getting some solid attention already and we have not even got to the racing etc! Good year ahead! Glad ya here to watch it al happen!
Wow, You looked to be flying on the run with Jamie at end 😲
Thanks man!
I guess chasing a lad down on a DH bike should answer the question if a 130mm travel bike is enough for an EWS.
I’d say so. Jamie is no slouch and that nukeproof is a 200mm beast. Guys are winning EWS on 140/150mm travel! 🤙🏽
Oh myyyy! 🙈😂 that is frighteningly fast! Such a good watch!
Thanks Ross!!!
It is amazing how Inners is really grippy when it's really really wet. Love it.
Yup! I agree
Holy shit mate! Smooooth rider, bike seems dialed, looks great! Best of luck for the season man!!
Thanks Filipe!!!
That GoPro footage is so so smooth considering how hard your pinning it. Wow.
You always look super smooth and the forbidden already seems to be awesome match. Can't wait untill your season begins, all the best for this year...
Thanks so much. I certainly feel good on it so far!
Just blows me away how super smooth the bike is , just soaks everthing up , obviously your smooth riding style helps 😉 but God that bikes impressive. That last run was epic .
Thanks!
Ripping dude! Happy to see the new program is going well so far.
Thanks Adam! Appreciate it
Just found this chanel, loving the videos . Keep it up.
Thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼
You look so quick crazy on that bike the size of these rotors are crazy .
Looking forward to seeing you race have a great season on the new machine 👍
Cheers ally!!!

that muc-off rain jacket is FIRE
Super nice eh
seriously dude, more stuff like this!! More insight = more bettttteerrrr
Thanks buddy

That is so cool to hear. Stoked to hear you are enjoying it. It is an amazing bike
Bike looks sick, looking forward to watching this season
Thanks rich! Cool to meet ya the other day!
Rapid Lewis , cant wait to watch your results in the new season. Good luck.
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Tried the Magura 220mm disc on Friday and Sunday with sintered pads and very wet conditions and it works very well great power but good modulation in the wet conditions.
Awesome!
Your riding is insane mate. Just subbed because of that
Thanks so much dude!
Bike looks sick lad, you are hauling down them trails 👌
Thanks rich!
I got 254mm rotor with 6 piston brake caliper from hope the mono 6 ti its nuts
Great edit 👊🏴
Thanks Jamie 🙏🏼🤙🏽
looking pinned and you've only just got the bike, plenty more to come.
Thanks a Bunch. Stoked for this year
Fcking he'll u was on full send bro the speed u was going on them trails woahhh keep sending dude
Thanks man!
Content is precise 🤘🏾
Thanks 🤙🏽
Is that 223 front and rear? Im considering trying that out just not sure what adapter id need for the rear.
Would a 223mm/220mm rotor be too powerful for the rear wheel? For 29" wheels?
Wow! How fast have you made that bike look?? Great footage.
Thanks!!!
What got you running the 36 elites this year, is there any point where you’d want to put the step cast gold 36s on? Bike looks sick loving the videos keep em coming 👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥
Yo, it’s just what I got given. Will not be on the elites when I am racing though shortly! Thanks for the comment and nice words dude

Rad video man! At 5"10 would you recommend medium or large?? What size stem length you running? 🤘
I would recommend a large to be honest. But depends if you like a shorter feeling bike. Stem length 40mm! Thanks
Boy if you powder coated that spring purple, it would look mintttttt
🔥
Mesmerising 🤟 🤟🤟
🙏🏼🙏🏼
i wonder where he runs the go pro. Great angle
On my chin of my full face helmet
These trails look like a lot of fun, do you know the names?
Yup this is at Innerleithen in scotland. Trails are cresta run and IXS.
You should try organize a demo day at innerleithen
Maybe In the future 🙏🏼
Bike sounds lush...it's all in your set up...not how much travel you have but how you ride it....bet it pedals really well something a bigger travel bike wont. I want to trst ride one. Also what timing was you using?
Thanks! I think you would enjoy it. We used freelap. But it was kinda difficult to figure out to be honest
I'm curious, when you add preload to a coil shock, does it decrease the travel?
No it doesn't. It only stiffens the spring but total travel is still there, just more force to bottom out.
Ian said it right! 👌🏽
Excellent vid Lewis! Do you time yourself to see if the amendments to brakes and suspension have helped? Or do you just go off how the bike feels and handles? Looked super fast on last run almost catching dh bike at midpoint.
We began timing but it wasn’t working too well. Usually I am pretty good at feeling and knowing if a change is better/faster etc. Thanks a lot man
@@LewisBuchanan one more question dude, u obviously fast rider but do you notice or feel quicker on forbidden say compared to nukeproof mega? Only u were pretty quick on that too.
Yeah I honestly feel more comfy and that the Druid is a better fit size wise for me. The nukeproof was nice for sure but I feel more at home On the bike!
How’d the coil feel? I’ve been thinking about trying for a bit now just not sure if I want to spend the money just to try it out.
Coil feels amazing. Very supple, does not heat up, rebound stays consistent. Steel spring would be bit heavier but other than that I would say there are a lot of positives to running a coil shock
I'd go on a demo day but its a bit pointless when I'm on a £40 a week paper round. One day I'll get one
Great vid, bike looks awesome, you seem well happy with it. Do you normally try and have the compression and rebound pretty similar front to back to keep it balanced, if not what do you prefer??
Thanks Alan. Yeah I like a balanced front and rear end if I can get it🤙🏽
Just curious, I understand the 29er having greater rotational mass but if you put a big rotor on the rear, you’re surely more likely to lock up the back wheel as your mass is usually directed forwards ? Maybe you mentioned it in the vid, if so, apologies !

Is 150 travel enough for ews??
Who knows 👀🤷🏼♂️
130mm at the rear, but I'm sure it will cope, wouldn't be surprised if forbidden are working on a big enduro bike
Are you sponsored by fox and smith as well sick vids love them so much can't wait for the next one🔥🤘💪
Not sponsored by fox. Just my chosen helmet for now. Smith are a part of my program though yes. They have sickest range of goggles!!! Well happy with them. Thanks for the comment man
Lewis Buchanan also what are you doing with all of your POC helmets and goggles
Lewis Buchanan I want to buy youre zebra goggles but I don’t find them in the official page, they are a pro rider special edition or something?
They are here in this link. www.smithoptics.com/us/Root/Men%27s/Goggles/Off-Road/Squad-MTB/p/M0084100799MP
I have a 130mm trail bike and my riding buddy rides on a 200mm scaracen myst I cope just fine
Sick! Yup such capable bikes!
@@LewisBuchanan 👊
How much travel has the bike? And how does a trail bike feel on the downhills? Do you enjoy it?
It has 130mm rear and 150mm front. It feels amazing. Handles well and stable also. I enjoy it very much!
Mint !
What's the new mucoff jacket like?
Amazing. Does the job!

what front tire do you run
Maxxis Assegai
I’ve been running 225mm hopes myself and they’re mint!
they’re probably more effective with the way I ride, as I use them a lot more than you do!😂
Wow 225! Yup they sure are powerful haha
Lewis Buchanan yeah they’re like a stick in the he wheel on the front, but I’ve seen Baptiste Pierron was running 246mm ones in a few world cups last season which has to be absolutely nuts!
Really that big. That is insane!!!
Maciej Jan Długosz
I’d rather not.
Put it to 0.5x playback speed and see how I would ride that trail.
Love you form korea!
Great inspiring watch as always Lewis!
I think you could flatter any bike but you've def got that 130mm ripping it!
Thanks a lot!!! 🙏🏼
This bike is so quiet
Hell yeah!
Recon you could do just fine with 160MM rotors, you dont fkin use em anyways.. Flyyyying!
Hahaha
another class video, gonna kill this year
Thanks dude
Bruh, "Scottish velcro patch" Ebay.
🔥🔥🔥
🤙🏽
How does he speak so calmly whilst going soo fast
Haha it can be difficult. But getting better and better at it! 🙏🏼
The accents eh!
Riding looked very good, but sounded awful because you added music. Leave it raw, so we can hear the riding too.
Thanks man. Yeah sometimes raw is good and also with some music is cool too. Just mixing it up. Thanks for the feedback though
I hallenge you not to brake while on the descends
Haha hell no! Got to use them brakes 😂
Am I the only one who's suspicious about the higher pitch of his voice on the riding footage?
this film has been artificially sped up, i can tell
