Great video! Just a small tip with regard to leaves. I couldn't see what you were clipping off well but as a rule you actually don't want to remove leaves unless they are truely brown and dead in which case they should detach easily from the plant. Otherwise, the plant leaves can actually yellow as the plant is drawing nutrients from the leaves.
Thanks man . I found 3 plants on the side of the road and didn't even know what it was. Now they are doing real well . Didn't know when to harvest them
Not all cucumbers are pickling cucumbers though. Some will go all mooshy, need to buy specific pickling varieties. I mean you can technically pickle them all if you don’t mind mooshy pickles lol
Paid 1-2 dollars USD for the seeds and just planted in the ground. Just hard to maintain them as they spread so much. Same with my 3 watermelon plants. With all three they are 35 feet long and 20 foot wide🥺 jubilee watermelons.
Just started my first garden since we bought our house. I’ve noticed little bulbs and yellow flowers. Do the cucumbers come from the small bulbs or flowers?
The small bulbs is where the cucumbers will form. They are the female flowers. The flowers with skinny stems are the males. They won't fruit. Hope this is clear for you.
No they won't drop. They'll be a nice dark green. The pickling cucumbers will get to be about 4 inches, regular cucumbers will be 6-8 inches. You don't want to let them get much bigger than that because they can get tough and bitter.
I think you can pickle any cucumber or other fruits and vegetables, it's just these types are smaller and easier to pickle whole without cutting them up.
can't remember exactly, but there are quite a few varieties that are labeld as pickling cucumbers and frommy experience they all do about the same when growing because you can let them grow as big or as little as you want. You just cut them off when you think they are the right size.
I actually just bought some good quality soil from the Home Center. Cukes are reallt easy to grow. I would just use some nice organic compost. I dont use any poop though. That stuff is gross and attracs flies.
Great presentation! Professional hosting. It's so nice to watch a video that is so full of information! Thank you!

Can you please make a video on your pickle recipe? Thank you! :)
Great I learned a lot
Glad to hear it
How do you actually jar them for pickling?
Good information
great vid!
Good info 👍🏼. That weight and xtra moisture isn't good for the deck tho, be careful
How u know when it's ready? Do they drop after they are ready

You basucally decide when they are big enough and then pick them, if they drop on their own, that is typically not a good thing.
Thank you
Can you plz make more videos please
Im currently working on a scientific review of pickles, and my question, beginning with the presentation, is, why cant you pickle normal cucumbers?
I think you can pickle any cucumber or other fruits and vegetables, it's just these types are smaller and easier to pickle whole without cutting them up.
Thank you for sharing 🙏
I have them growing and wanted to hear someone’s method of when to harvest the cucumber. Got it!! 💯🦅
Did it work?
@@markeden5193
I didn’t pickle them.
But we ate them!!!
It was fun.
We have a loofah plant growing now.
🙌🦅🦅🦅🙌
Where u cut it, will it grow back another pickel
No. It just more nutrients available for another cuke to grow further down the vine.
What kind of cucumber plant is this? Thanks!

But what kind soil

If you let them get too big The plant thinks it's done its job And stops producing
Pickliiiiiinnggg
dont grow small garden always go big
