One of the favourite songs we sing at Christmas. We usually pair it with ‘Child Of The Poor’, and sing them both, dividing the choir into 2 parts. Such a lovely way to enjoy.

Beautiful ❤️ but teary since this makes me bawled in 😭 tears of both pain and relieved when I embraced my news anchor family friend: Ryan Gamboa when I saw him stretching outside of his porch ready for jogging 👟 he hugged me tightly and petted my head softly and said " It's okay, I'm here now for you" we're no longer in quarantine isolation. When I heard this song playing inside the church, this gives me a feeling of relief after isolated the whole day at home due to the COVID-19 quarantine restrictions last summer of February 2020.

Most versions of this song leave out the stanzas that ask why is Jesus in a stable if he's a king? Because he humbled himself to save us. This sweet little baby will soon suffer and die for the sins of the world. "Why lies he in such mean estate where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian fear for sinners here the silent Word is pleading. Nails, spear, shall pierce him through the cross he'll bear for me for you. HAIL hail the Word made flesh the babe the Son of Mary.
This song tells the full gospel message! But most versions are leaving out these crucial hymn stanzas which is a shame.
Oh, I'm notice the melody of wild roses ist stolen by this origin song..
