My mother had dementia for seven years but on a Sunday morning she became so clear and said “look at the beautiful woman” looking at the ceiling and then in my arms she died. We sang this at her funeral. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
This was my beloved Dad’s favorite hymn, as soon as he heard it he knew he wanted it played at his funeral. He went Home on December 29, 2019, indeed they played it at his funeral. I love you Daddy, miss you so much.
Amy, My deepest condolences. While we rejoice for our loved ones who have gone to their reward, we ache for the loss of them. Our beautiful mother passed this past September 3rd at the age of ninety six and I miss her beautiful countenance dearly. This was one hymn that I insisted be sung at her funeral as well. Although it is sung to Our Blessed Mother, our dear mother had such beautiful attributes like the Blessed Mother and this hymn reminds me so much of her. It soothes my heart.

My dad loved our blessed Virgin Mother he prayed to her and he would ask her to bless his children and grandchildren because at the age of 5 his mother died and was brought up by his dad ,older sister and older brother and I feel that’s why he prayed to our Blessed Mother Amen 🙏

While I knelt down before our Holy Mother Mary and made my promise to her all I could feel at that present moment was our Mother herself with her hand on my shoulder and this beautiful hymn was playing in the back ground. My wife and I two weeks ago at our Parish St. Maria Goretti San Jose , Ca were both commissioned as Legionnaires of Legion of Mary . While I knelt down before our Holy Mother Mary and made my promise to her all I could feel at that present moment was our Mother herself with her hand on my shoulder and this beautiful hymn was playing in the back ground. My holy mother forgive me of all my sins and thank you for allowing me to serve you. Amen
