Some of those "small" fish he shot are the most delicious...Those species dont get too big anyway. Im assuming you are referring to the kumu (whitesaddle goatfish) /moana kali (blue goatfish).

When I lived on the Big Island "Hilo side" There were so much fish and Spiny Rock lobsters. We took what We could eat and that was it.
That's how I was doing when I lived there. If you look at the timeline, these were all of the fish taken by myself over the course of a year.
