Hello, thanks for the video about Patras! Regarding the beach located to the North of the city, it is actually a bit further than where you got and it is quite nice in that at one point it faces South and a bit further it faces North. So, depending on the wind direction, we can choose a calm side.
You want to look at my Video on Nafpaktos which is neighbouring (20 mins) if you want a little about the Battle of Lepanto. I also have a video on Corinth and show where St Paul was preaching in Ancient Corinth. only about 2 hours from Patras, if you are on a tour
00:50 Hi, I think the closest airport is Patras Araxos Airport, it is to the southwest of Patras, in a suburb quite far outside the city, about 40 minutes' drive to the city of Patras. If I'm not mistaken, there are also shuttle buses. The less popularity of this airport is probably due to the small number of flights and pricey tickets. Also, tourists who visit Ionian islands usually fly directly there. Kalamata airport is similar, but because of the location advantage, as far as southern airports on mainland Greece are concerned, apart from Athens, more tourists tend to fly for kalamata, where the airport is much closer to the city, just 20 minutes by bus, and people could explore the south coast, three fingers, Monemvasia and so on more conveniently.
You are of course right, but the airports as you mention are small, and generally only serviced in the summer, I would guess the time to Kalamata is similar to Athens. Kalamata is well serviced in the summer by charter flights, I am not sure about Patras Airport.
I think the highlight of Patras is the combination of the unique Mycenean Park of Vounteni (about 5km outside the city limits) and then a stop at the beautiful archaelogical museum (around 3 km away from the Park), you see all the history of the Bronze, Ancient and Roman ages of Greece if you later visit the locations you mention in the city center
Hi there. I enjoyed your video about Patras. I visited last year and agree with much of what you said. I do think you should have made more of the archaeological museum and made it No 10 rather than just mentioning it briefly in the bit about the castle. I was really surprised about the scale and the quality of the museum and we were just about the only people there the morning we visited.
Hi ! Been watching your Greek videos Kalamata we will be going (God willing ) you should check out Philippines as you would get a lot of subscribers from there. Seems like what most UA-camr travel videographers do. ) We want to buy property in Greece for golden visa and to be able to live in Greece . What would be your short list of great locations to live there ?
I lived in Vietnam for 10 years and wish I had started doing this when I was there. I have been to the Philippines, Manila and Cebu, plus Clarke Airforce Base but maybe 20? 25? years ago, beautiful country. I am planning to do a vid along the lines of, 'Where would I retire to (and NOT) in Greece' but that would be late August or early September I think. It will align with the Golden Visa Idea, but I may do a separate one on the visa because I think my suggestions would differ slightly.

Thank you for the local information!! and pleased you enjoyed the video.
, I'm a pilgrim and St. Andrew Church info is helpful. I was expecting the view where the Battle of Lepanto has happened though. thanks for the video!

You are right about the museum, the only reason I didn't feature it more prominently is because it is kind of the wrong side of town if you get me.
It is great advice you give though, Thank you
