@@manuelreyesjr.8630 hah me too. The only two restoration channels, not counting art, I follow and like the work of. I thought for a long time they belong to the same person :)
For months I follow both (TysyTube and My Mechanics). Both are very good but someone has to say it. My Mechanics has a level of detail and unrivaled perfection. I repeat both are very good but seeing a finished work of My Mechanics always gives a feeling that could not be done better, however when watching a video of TysyTube leaves the feeling that they could polish a little more the small details. Congratulations to both and I am a big follower of both, thanks for such good videos.
My thoughts echo everyone else's here. In addition, I appreciate the real-time snippets of action, not the fast forward that all the others do. You show exactly how you are restoring the piece without having to see all the actions. Thank you for that. And yes, a huge grin appears on my face when you build up to the statement, "I make a new one". My father handy like you and watching you brings him back to me.
Wow my friend, every time I watch your videos, I'm more & more impressed by the beautiful work you do! Your attention to detail is amazing, as are the wonderful restorations that you complete! You bring life back to all these wonderful old items!! Thank you for sharing what you do with us - it's much appreciated!! Greetings from South Africa
Pretty sure that reflector is simply to catch light from other sources (like the "zot-dots" on the highway that will shine red in your face when you're driving down the wrong side of the road (!) )
I can't speak for others, but I prefer when you don't post the finished result in the thumbnail, that way we get to see the grand reveal in the video itself.
Such great work, please take more time showing off. Like the handle on top moving before and after, and the red light. People love admiring your satisfaction with your amazing hard meticulous work and restoration! I love your videos. They surprisingly help me fall asleep too, and when I wake up, I pick up were I left off! Had no idea watching your videos would be so relaxing and satisfying to see antiques being given new life! Thank you!
I follow many of the owners of excellent content who are interested in maintaining old pieces, but you are very special in the precision of your work and your concern for the smallest details, and I think that you are better than my followers in this field, so thank you, and I wish you success, and I am waiting for more of these distinguished clips.
I really like the way your restorations end up looking better than when it was first made. Removing the casting marks, smoothing rough edges, filling in dents and the lovely polishing of parts is great.

I'm running out of superlatives. I have used great, awesome, excellent!, fantastic, terrific and wonderful, 'til I'm blue in the face. Soon I will have no recourse but to use: cool, groovy and ottasight, man. But before I reach those shop-worn phrases, I'll say: tree mend us. Keeping in mind of course, I mean every one of them. Thank you for sharing. Hats off from Kansas, USA.
Wonderfully done restoration, as usual. However, I'm not a big fan of your choice of color. Most of it, the shiny look don't match with the original purpose of this lamp. As you mention in the comments, it was mainly used by railways workers (in french "cheminots"), on construction sites, shipyards and various industrial environments. For such uses, the body's paint was grainy, matching with the grainyness of the cast aluminum. A kind of painting seemingly made to resist to outdoor use and harsh treatment. I've seen (and actually used) several models, including this very "Agral" type, and I don't remember another color than a dark red/brown. The handle was bare iron and even the door knobs and top switch were painted the same color (or maybe it was dirt on the knobs...) I hope you will not blame me for these little historical details, as I will keep on following your amazing work with the greatest attention and pleasure.
Ok, fair point, but consider the context. These restored antiques will never again be used for their original utilitarian function. With my machines first-class restoration, they have become more like an objet d'art, to be displayed and appreciated. Therefore to do proper tribute to their beauty beyond the idea of their original designers, they require colors that make them pop, drawing attention to their original quaint design and form.
I love your videos, you are a very talented man! One thing puzzles me though: why do you remove the cast marks? It feel you're losing some authenticity. If it was me I'd keep them but who am I to say, I couldn't restore anything to the level you are. Keep up the good work!
I was working on my Jeep and lost one of the screws. My first thought wasn't to go buy a new one, it was, "I'll make one." So I found a longer screw than I needed, put it in my lathe, shortened the screw and cleaned up the threads. Curse you My Mechanics, you're rubbing off on me. Now I'm off to fix the shower stall. No, I'll make a new one.
The attention to detail you put into your restorations is mesmerizing. These videos are fascinating. It has me so badly wanting to buy a lathe now lol.
А по мне так это большая глупость убирать всякого рода литейные швы, которые абсолютно не мешают и придают вещи старого шарма! Это тоже самое, что взять старую неровную монету и обточить её до ровного круга! Надписи тоже надо было сровнять!)))

WHAT IF THEY ARE THE SAME GUY?!
I noticed two things about this guy: 1) He doesn't like sharp edges and 2) He just loves to make metal shine.
3) Loves making any new ones.
He even makes the inside of items he restore shine. It doesn’t matter if anyone will ever see the guts.

Who else want to see this man make an identical copy of something. Like a previous restoration(the whole thing) from scratch?
I'm a year late to reply but he did at one point make a copy of a dead blow hammer.
Absolute perfection and a pleasure to watch. I was hoping to see the red bit lit up too, but still 10/10!
