Here in northern Ohio, we are finally starting to get some decent weather. Heading out to Lake Erie tomorrow for some walleye jigging but can't wait to get out to some local ponds, lakes, and reservoirs for some active largemouth. All great baits for April, Mike. I might add that a shaky head is my first bait to find fish. It's always tied on one of my rods. I always look forward to your monthly recommendations!

@mikeiaconellifishing . Good info ! Central Illinois here and you are spot on. April 2, 2023 1/2oz. lipless purple and white color caught a 6lb. 4oz. largemouth . April 6, 2022 natural bream color medium diving jerk bait caught a 5lb 15oz largemouth. March so far this year has belonged to the lipless and spinner baits . Thanks for what you do and come bank fishing with me if you ever get up this way.

I kicked ass on a Vision 110 jr fishing a pond in northern NJ still cold water 40s we’ve gotten a lot of rain fish aren’t up on banks mid column moving towards the banks from deep water deepest part of pond is only 8-10 ft max,these fish were in 3-5 ft

Same here in MD. They started to bite a few weeks ago then shut down after that week of 30 and below nights. It’s like starting all over again coming out of winter. This week is supposed to be warm though.
Mike just got back from Santee Cooper. I’m on the NB Susky aApril to December and i feel i never want to fish south of Wilkes-Barre again. I handicapped that lake for months. And got 1 keeper. Crazy. Locals were having it tuff also. But I’ll Never Give Up! It was a bucket list lake for me. Gonna try north end of Champlain in fall. Should set up like Black lake NY I’m hoping, because that’s a place I’m familiar with.
