- A half hour catch up with Tim who has always has a new book out and loads of other content whizzing around, podcasts, radio shows and what have you. This one seemed to zero in on the the insights of Brian Eno.
Just found this comedian and am super impressed. It's a crime I did not know of him sooner.
Simon, any chance you might be coming to the United States anytime soon? Specifically Southern California? There are plenty of folks here who stand a slight chance of understanding proper English and I have no doubt you'd be welcomed. If nothing more, it'd be quite a holiday. Thoughts? (Also, nice to see so many books behind you in your video. What are some of your favorites/must-reads?)
Hi, thanks for the comment, I would love to visit southern California and see how my comedy went down. I suspect that is going to be even harder than usual for a while but one of these days... My bookshelves meanwhile are probably deceptive! I buy far more than I read sadly, I would love to have a parallel life where I just sit down and read all day, without ever getting tired or finding it hard to concentrate. I like reading popular science books - Bill Bryson level, ideally - and wordy fiction. My favourite read with my Book Group in recent time was Ben Lerner. And I just bought Antkind, Charlie Kaufman's debut novel, which looks very promising. Cheers!
@@oneinasquillion I believe you'd find a fantastic audience here in Orange County, as we overwhelmingly tend to be what you might call... literate. (Although if you troll around for any length of time, it would hardly be challenging to find folks who have never left their driveways, think that "Hemingway" is a type of bird and believe the Earth is flat)
Thank you for sharing your reading suggestions. As an audio book addict (and I won't ever consider treating that condition), I should indeed expand my usual non-fiction palate to include some more adventurous outings, so I thank you for your insight.

Al Murray pointed out that the “Not even the best drummer in the Beatles” line is from a Jasper Carrot sketch. Which was very funny, but most drummers agree, not true.
