What a great album this is, and "In the Tradition" too. My favourite era of these lads.

Recommend Alina Gingertail's version of this excellent jig, she's a wee, talented, elven bard

I must have forgot to look for a while. Can't believe it's been up for 11 years.

    Is this speeded up?

No. The first tune was written in E major, as played here with the composer in the band!

@@Jemtheflute And it works really really well in E major -- the finger feel is completely different than the now-apparently-more-common D major version. If your band is up to it, play it twice in D and then "kick it up" to E.

@@AllanCWechslerWell I haven't been in a band for many, many years, but if I bump into it getting played in the original E in a session I can play it there. It's definitely a bit more awkward on a flute or whistle there, though, because of the G#s - not great on a keyed flute and pretty irritating on a keyless D instrument. On the plus side, it's a typically Scottish hexatonic tune - the 7th of the scale is omitted, so in E there are no D#s to play (gapped on C# in D). Although in E major, for practical playing purposes it's only in three sharps, not four.
