I love sweets so I love desert, but I will agree that most of the time they're very simple and lack complex flavours and textures. However when done right, it is just spectacular. I will never forget this asian fusion restaurant that I would drive an hour to go to. Unfortunately it went out of business. They made a desert where it was the guts of an apple pie (cinnamon, apples, syrup, etc) wrapped in thick dumpling wrapper deep-fried so sits just slightly crispy and a touch salty, with raspberry and chocolate sauce drizzled and course sugar sprinkled on top and more berries and chocolate on the sides. As it entered my mount it was sweet and sour, berries and cocoa, transitioning to a hint of salty crispy dough, followed up by the burst of apple pie juicy goodness as you bite through the wrapping, and ending off with a slightly snappy bite of the Granny Smith apples. It was heavenly. I will never forget my first bite. It deserves a damn Nobel prize
The word entrée entered the French culinary lexicon by way of music. An entrée is a term used to speak of an opening act in a musical or opera. So, it follows, an entrée was a beginning course for a traditional, French multi-course meal. By 1759, entrée is widely accepted as a culinary term in France.
Hors d'oeuvres are just appetizer-like finger foods (so not salad or soup, etc) that are typically prepared/cooked (as opposed to cheese trays or raw fruit/veggie trays). Most restaurants will just call that type of thing appetizers, but parties, gatherings, etc will typically have an assortment of hors d'oeurves on various plates/platters. In the States it's pronounced "orr durvs" -- not sure of how accurate that is relative to real McCoy French though.
Has anyone noticed that when something shockingly funny comes up, Skin just drops like he's going limp but Leigh perks up as if he's going to jump off his seat? Very obvious at 24:50 lol
Wait I'm going back through episodes I haven't watched I thought it was girl I am getting to know but in this episode 10 months earlier it's girlfriend Leigh which is ir?
