    I randomly ran across your content last week & I've been binge watching ever since. You have 1 of the best channels on UA-cam. You're a big part of my childhood but I dont think it's nostalgia that draws me in. I believe it's your transparency, you're really great at what you do. Keep up the great work, I feel like I've subscribed to something special.

    This is why you're an inspiration. You see the struggle and trauma that the people around you have gone through and rather than pick them apart like the rest of the world does, you build them up and paint them in a different light. Your awareness, kindness, and sense of morality will take you far. We need more women like you in the world.

    I love this. Because honestly I think most of us had our wild teen years and twenties but people weren’t actively rooting for us to fail or taking up skirt photos of us. We got away with it because there wasn’t a camera, or when there was we had control over those photos like we do for the most part now with our phones and social media. I watched friends do drugs, I saw them get arrested, go to rehab and sadly lost some of them to drunk driving accidents or drug overdoses. It’s still happening but I can only hope with everything in me that there will never be a time where millions of people are literally watching someone spiral and instead of helping or seeing if they’re okay, they offer them something stronger, take a photo or video and basically set their life on fire. As for Paris, Britney and Lindsey, I’m proud of them. The strength it’s taken to be in that world and make it out alive is impressive, to thrive in it is a while other level.

    I watched an episode of Lindsay’s reality show once and loved what I saw in regards to her personality. I knew she’d be completely ok when I saw how she handled herself. She was amazingly eloquent and professional with an employee who was giving her nasty attitude. Lindsay knew what she wanted in terms of organization and calmly stated how she expected it to be handled without (rightfully) yelling or being nasty back. It was very reminiscent to the way Beyoncé carries herself when she’s leading at work. She can certainly act and sing. Love her. Her troubles never swayed me.

    It's very interesting (and important) to note that it's almost always women that are villainized for this sort of thing too. You very rarely hear about the guys "going wild" or "going off the rails". If the media does happen to mention anything at all, men are much more easily forgiven than women. Probably due (at least in part) to the whole "boys will be boys" mentality. And I think, because it's so villainized by the media, it sticks with us as consumers longer. Truthfully, I can admit I still find myself going "yikes" when I hear about these sort of things and find myself judging other women too quickly. I'm working on being more mindful of that. It's very rare that we know the whole story and, even if we do, people are allowed to make mistakes or live their lives for themselves. They're allowed to live, learn, and grow, and they should be given the space to do so. Thanks for the important reminder!

    • @HaleyMary
      @HaleyMary 2 роки тому +2

      That is so true! We don't see the male musicians and actors being scrutinized like the magazines scrutinize women in the music and acting industry. I think it's important to remember that they are human and make mistakes just like any of us do. The difference is they are thrust into the limelight from a young age and their lives are scrutinized over every little thing. I think having to live that way would make anyone go crazy.

    As someone who also got influenced by this “bad is good” mentality and tried to have an edge when I was younger by rebelling, your words gave me a lot of comfort. Obviously I’m not famous and the impact of my actions is very localized compared to Britney, Paris, Lindsey and others, but I do feel judged and regretful when I look back at past events. You are so wise and empathetic and understanding, and truly a champion for women. Thank you for sharing your story and your experiences of surviving in a world (entertainment industry) that is so harsh and unprotective of young women.

    I have nothing but love for Britney and Lindsay. I understood as a little kid at the time when this was happening to them that they were just living their lives and being crazy partying young adults, which is just what I just expected of people of that age at the time. Paris Hilton did some actual damage tho. She created this persona/character and stereotype that damaged young women and led to the creation of the evolution of the character which became Kim Kardashian and later the entire Kardashian/Jenner family, and Paris herself admitted recently that she created a monster, so I don’t know if I can ever forgive her for that, but I am very happy and grateful and do recognize the important and reparatory work that she’s been doing in DC to help kids and teens in crisis, so I do thank her for at least doing that. Maybe this is the beginning of her reparations to the younger members of her society that she wronged, but I haven’t forgotten that there was a team of people behind the persona/character that will never be held accountable, in addition to the older members of society who only wanted to see her fail and ultimate downfall.

      @@alextroy9202 I’m going to ignore the fact that you just called me stupid. Paris knew what she was doing on her end and admitted to it years after the fact. I also clarified that she wasn’t the only one at fault, that there was a whole team of publicists, managers and agents that helped her come up with it, and they need to be held accountable too, but you and I both know they never will. I also admitted that it was shitty of the older members of society to be criticizing Paris as much as they did. Read before you reply.

    I absolutely love these videos. It’s great to hear someone else’s take that isn’t trying to push an agenda. I was still pretty young (by that I mean late teens) when Britney was struggling so at the time I didn’t really understand what it meant. Now that I’m in my early 30s I can’t help but ache knowing how awful so many people were to all 3 of them but especially Britney. People got joy out of her pain and struggles. Other celebs even aided in her struggles and hard times and i so wish we could just hug her and tel her she has so much to give and share and she deserves to live the life she wants!

    Wasn’t Lindsey harassing people on the street in Dubai? That gave me a bad taste in my mouth.

      When people on the street asked her to leave them alone after she tried to take their son, it can be considered harassing

      she sounded like she wasn't in her senses in that video so I'm not sure if she could really be at fault. what's sad though is that she's probably still dealing with addiction but it's just not open

    • @CarlyO1092
      @CarlyO1092 2 роки тому

      That definitely happened due to some sort of drug or alcohol binge. It was way unhinged. I think she has struggled pretty severely with addiction and I hope she has or will continue fighting the good fight. Nobody acts that way/says the things she did sober. Just doesn’t happen

      @@jadedheartsz Alex Jones didn’t approach a Muslim family in a foreign country, sobbing, and try to take their kids away from them. It seemed to me that she had good intentions, but was totally out of her mind and not present in reality.

    I love these ladies and you. Paris is iconic and I loved her Netflix show. I need to watch Lindsay's new movie and I hope Britney gets back out there with her career but if she doesn't or it takes awhile that's OK too. I'm rooting for all these women that I grew up watching.

    • @rikocribbs9334

      Would be great to see Britney's career metamorphosis if she chooses to pick it back up and run her own show for a change. But in several interviews over the years she's sounded so deeply hopeful to live a "normal" life and "just be a mom." Her boys are pretty grown now, and prob not in need of that kind of close mothering she wanted to give them so badly when they were small - to put performing on the back burner and focus on them.
      I'm looking forward to seeing her embrace whatever lifestyle she chooses for herself going forward tho. Maybe have another baby and get to be that fully devoted mom? Or write and release a new album, stripped of the pop polish...free to be as raw and honest as she wants, finally? Both? Neither? Very exciting and encouraging to know she can choose her own happiness now. As it should be for all of them, and all of us.
      Rooting for her (and them) too 💪

    Omg this video was life for me! I remember the day that photo was blown way out of proportion!
    They are amazing in each their own right.
    Now they can look back and say....Look what we did. Look how far we've come.
    Love these powerful women.
    Britney is free and she will get what she deserves for such a long time!
    Paris was always misunderstood because she had to create an image.
    Lindsay went through hell and back! Yet she's putting out the Christmas movie on Netflix soon!!!!
    Boss Women!!!! Love them! ❤
    Thank you for this video Christy!!!

    They were young and stupid in that picture. As many that age are. I am 23 now and pictures of me and my friends would not paint us in the best light either. People love to act all high and mighty to bring people they don't like down. I'm glad people are realizing how wrong all of that scrutiny was.
