Hi Abbie, I've been a subscriber for a while now and not liked or commented on the videos as much as I probably should have. I've struggled with my mental health over the past year and have had thoughts that I hope never enter my mind again. I've enjoyed the outdoors for a number of years now and have spent a lot of time in the hills in the past. However, due to injury and other health issues, I gained weight and have never been fit enough to face my previous challenges. I'm really glad that you have made a video about easier walks for someone like me that doesn't obsess about summits or being over 3000ft. Just enjoying the space around you. Thank you.
Every walk counts my friend, it's about getting out and being open to the journey that is life. You've got this 100%
Your comment about how the lack of our connection to nature affects our mental state was very interesting. My hubby suffers from ADHD. As a child he was on meds for it. He went back to school a few years ago, and didn't want to have to go back on the meds. Through research we discovered some schools in EU were taking kids out into nature on a daily basis, and found a dramatic drop in the effects of ADHD, and many kids no longer needing meds. I got my husband into nature / wildlife photography. The regular trips out actually made it that he no longer needed meds. In fact, in times of bad weather when he was stuck inside for a few days in a row, I could see a change in his mood. Namely his ability to focus, and mood swings. I'm dealing with Menopause myself, and notice my trips into nature, even for short walks help with the symptoms. The sounds, the colors, the feel of the wind and the sun on your face. It makes a huge difference.
YOU definately have a knack at making great films and your narrative skills are top notch - you should have your programme on BBC - the crap they put out is terrible - keep up the great work Abbie - I am from Hawes originally but I am working and living in Asia for the last 20 years and watch your channel or others like your channel on a daily basis :)
Nah, UA-cam is the new TV. The old channels were horribly formulaic, restrictive and supressed talent, apart from those of the chosen few. The internet and YT have democratised broadcasting by promoting an explosion of talent, such as Abbie's.
You can't beat a walk in the Lake District! I agree wholeheartedly with you about the forest walking and the general disconnect from nature that seems so prevalent at the moment. Spending time outside and in nature is so rewarding and I find it a great way to still my mind and rejuvenate my soul.
Ahhh. We love Coniston, we stay every year for our anniversary week in October and have been to Tarn How’s many times. Never as a destination though, it’s always a leg of the journey. If you go again may I suggest a small add on. Black Crag isn’t far from there and it offers marvellous views. Thanks for this vid, really enjoyed it.
You certainly have to walk prepared!
Thanks for a beautiful ,gentle walk. Pleased it kept reasonably fine fo you

Aother cool video. Keep up the pushing harder !
Love your videos Abbie. I really respect your outlook on things and the benefits of the outdoors on mental and physical health. I really liked what you were saying whilst in the woodland bit.
Absolutely class 👍🏻
Beautiful, I love old estate trees and fauna and flora, like the Acer and Rhododendrons.
There are a couple of scenes that would make beautiful paintings/sketches. You have wisdom far beyond your youth Abbie. I'm very happy I discovered your Channel. Thank you, and cheers from Canada.
Another beautiful walk. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic, you inspire me soo much.I suffer with bad mental health issues at65.
Love it! Totally agree with you on labelling everything
funny how you took boots and socks off to cross the stream, I just walk through and hope my feet dry out... not sure which is best, sometimes it works 🤔
That’s funny because I did my dissertation based in this area
Isn`t Haze Outdoors also in that area right now? Would be interesting if you two met.
Worth joining the National Trust, as you quickly recoup the subscription fee with free parking at their car parks that are quite pricey for non members. Throw in all their sites to visit, not just in the Lakes, and its money well spent.
Hi Abbie.. Im just going to ask where in lake district is the easiest place to get to to wild camp low level and covered during the cold weather... Im asking because im actualy having to wild camp to survive at present
