- Henry and his wife Debbie are looking forward to enjoying brunch at one of their favorite restaurants. Hoping to secure a table by the window, Debbie drops Henry off at the front and then goes to park the car. When she gets to the lot all the spaces are taken, forcing her to use the valet. After their meal, Henry attempts to retrieve their vehicle, but the valet denies him, refusing to return his car.

I posted above that when he had the nerve to try to get a tip instead of just being glad that he did not lose his job she should have told him that them driving away and NOT complaining to his boss and getting him fired is the most generous tip he has ever received.

Hang on! I do nightclub security and I would have done exactly the same but I would have handled it differently. I would have said "I can only release the vehicle to the person who gave me the ticket and that is company policy unless you can give me proof that the vehicle is yours." Given that he smelled of alcohol means he has a legal obligation NOT to release the vehicle to that man. In the UK it is ILLEGAL to release a vehicle to someone who smells of alcohol.

I used to do valet and your trained to only give the car back to the person who was given the ticket because there have been inccidents where people have stolen cars like this. No im not taking this guys side his tone was unneceptable but its how they are trained the only time ive given it to a different person is when they have shown proof of owner ship or atleast partial ownership.
I think for me its the way he said it though I worked as a valet and the common phrase we used at our place was we can only return the car to the person we originally gave the ticket to.
You're Right this man was in the wrong for his attitude more than anything he was rude and said racist remarks if he said "I'm sorry only the person who left the car can claim it's our policy" and applied that policy to all of his customers he would be right but racists usually use Policy to people of color but not to white customers
Are valets trained to be racist? This valet drivers nothing more than racist had the husband been a white man he wouldn't have treated him the same way.
The valet drivers should have taken a better tone and talking to this man and explaining why he can't give the car to him but instead he was violent and very disrespectful in his speech.
Common courtesy goes a long ways. And then this despicable person have the nerve to ask for a tip. He should have gotten the tip all right the tip of that man's shoe.

This situation would have been an honest mistake, the racial overtones from the valet were 'you people are all the same. It would have been irresponsible for the valet to give the car keys to someone other than the person he gave the ticket to. Some of these videos are not racial they are bad judgment, every disagreement between black and white people isn't always racial.

As someone with experience in security I'd say he had the right idea but the wrong attitude. Being America I guess handing out a car to the wrong person would leave you in a world of problems, but he should have explained his problem in a polite and friendly way.
