You're documenting live history with these films. It's an important thing, and you're probably the only reason the world get to see these classic mining operations. Not long into the future they will collapse and the history will be nothing but tales, movies and pictures. No one will ever see it live again. For that, you truly deserve a big thank you.
Well that has to be a 9 out of 10 for perilous mines, all the stulls looked so decayed that the slightest touch and they would just crumble. I guess it wouldn’t have been a Frank explore without you having to make your way through some tight spaces and wading a stretch of water. I know the drone is a great tool for helping you discover adits but it also shows us some of that stunning scenery. Thank you for this week’s phenomenal show, look forward to seeing part 2. Take care and stay safe.
I would not go in there... looks very soft and unstable. Sometimes I worry about your safety. Dont go overboard on the risk factor we would rather you stay alive. Cheers
great vid frank. i cant handle wet boots on a long hike out so i always take extra socks in my pack and some construction type thick garbage bags slip them over your dry socks or if you start to get cold feet can warm up easy thumbs up
I think your the one person in mine exploring that has bigger balls than me, I would never do that solo, and some places you go, I'd unlikely go with other people. There again, you do have more experience than me. One thing you are missing though is exploring in a shale environment, always entertaining :o)
At 17:11 when you threw that rock down the open stope, did you notice that the Big rock hit that middle Stull and broke it out of it's position? That's exactly why you don't trust those old stulls, they're rotten and will fall out of their position with the slightest jossling! As always Frank, Keep up the GREAT filming! I live Vicariously through your videos!
I wish there was evidence left of how they stoped out those area's...I just don't understand the process. Did they go up and build platforms to work on,? Where are the platforms? Did they go down? how did they get back up? Just huge caverns with stulls left behind...very curious.
That was the dodgiest mine I think I have seen you in. Those rotten stulls and false floors gave me the horrors. The Australian mines I am used to use nice Eucalyptus hardwood. Even in areas where they have stoped orebodies out to the surface have beautiful timbers from 150 years ago.
youre a brave man Frank!..them collapsed ore shutes look so unstable...i really wish you'd atleast take someone with you in mines like that...i know thats not so easy when youre out exploring by yourself...but you can always come back later...cant come back if it collapses ontop of ya and noone knows where you are..
Sir, you seemed to be knocking into things that you said to never touch in an earlier video. I understand your zeal to get past the entrance but please sir, caution.
There is absolutely positively no way I would go into these mines. Way to sketchy. I love your videos man but sometimes one has to ask himself is it worth it?
With all the cave-ins it doesn't look like these mines will be accessible much longer. Glad you were able to explore them a bit before they're gone. -- From your description text, what is "scarn gold"? All I can find on scarn is it's an archaic alternative to scorn, or obsolete British for dung.
Try Skarn................The Second Relief mine is located in a mountain valley 20 kilometres northwest of Salmo. The deposit was brought into production in 1902, was mined until 1919, resumed in 1928 and produced until 1941. This is the third largest gold-enriched skarn producer in the province. The main vein has been opened on 11 levels.
These must have been the very early (1908-1919) portions of the mine? There's so many collapses. Or maybe it was decayed so much due to low elevation conditions...regardless, thanks for providing another side for the types of mines here. Thanks EAM.
@@stevetreloar6602 That very well could be. It's really hard to say without actually being there. At 10:15 the back is looking kind of soft and the timbers have seen better times. ;- ) Low air flow, I'm assuming, it all adds up.
Hey Frank, great video! Are you still exploring in the salmo area? I live close by and I have also been checking out old sites and would like to find many more. Look me up if you want to go out and find more abandoned places. Im always up for an adventure. Cheers......
If they drive heavy logging machines over that mine it will probably collapse. Looks like the back is on or just below surface. In the video the ore looked to be far less solid than the fault containing it.
I keep waiting for the cavein but don’t guess that happened cause it’s on UA-cam guess the one we don’t see will be the one your buried in, places you go I would never go.
That stope is called a shrinkage stope that work of the muck and take out what thay need to drill off to blast. Some peapel that never saw that thay mai wonder how thay can go up that hy

I agree......some of the junior mining companies think I am a pain!
It is so beautiful up there. I am so happy to see these videos. Thanks Frank!

"you better not come over here, or ill introduce you to my boot" lol quote of the day 🤣🤣
Frank you totally remind me if this super kind Canadian Dead Head I met at a Grateful Dead show in the early 90's!
Love the drone. Cool mine.
Sarah Gold The drone does an awesome job!
This dude is fearless. Just nonchalantly wandering through some extreamly hazardous shit!
Frank you are one crazy dude, going in there!
Can’t wait for part 2. Explore a cave with Frank is now on my bucket list.
Next Thursday at 6 am!
Like the new experimental camera angles!
HI Frank Another great video.Rats don't bug me I pick it up get it out your way. Can't wait for part two.Good luck .
Don't pick them up..........they bite hard!

I would prefer that as well!
Not to mention those rusted nails sticking from the boards. That's just asking for tetanus.
If you get injured and trapped in a mine I will come rescue you 😉
I almost had a heart attack at 6:21 the timbers look like someone leaning over the edge looking down at you haha
I'd love to get out to these areas great videos as always maybe I'll find my way out one day
another great vid Frank.....love the drone shots....good shot of the Stulls....nothing like a boot full of water to get you going huh....
Lol how would you know Jeff....your mine is in the lovely dry desert :D the only thing that fills your boot is your own sweat :P
I think I have webbed feet by now!
Thanks for sharing your adventures Frank, That's some beautiful country up there.
Best of the best Frank hip waders man
They are awkward to carry and get damaged easy. They don't last very long either.
Always 5 star videos Frank ... Be safe and keep them videos coming !
Nice. Notification of awesome show. Can't wait to get off work to watch. Lol
"The Main Vein" LOL, But seriously that is one tough mine to access.
So happy to see this pop up in my subs. I need a good mine video to relax this week.
Hello and good day from Tim again you sure have a big set of balls to go in there. Thanks Tim SEAL team three 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing your exploration. Enjoyed watching. Take care and be safe.

We have alot of rats here in Washington too, most are holding public office.
yeah the species of rats are democ
Damnit those damn rope fairies taking your rope. Just leaves more to explore right? Bit sketchy frank but thats not new, keep em coming

holy shit you are brave sir .... this place looks deadly with all that broken logging .... looks like its about to colapse any time :S

The condition of the back and walls give me the impression that they were pretty over enthusiastic with the explosives in most places.

Most of the mine is in solid rock far underground it wouldn't hurt it.
FRANK, THE WATER I COULD DEAL WITH, BUT IT'S THE RATS THAT WOULD MAKE BE TURN AROUND!!!!!

That's not what I'd call a real safe mine, eh?
the dwarves delved too greedily and too deep and there in the darkness woke a nameless fear
LOTR AND FRANK. I love this fandom.
That mine is a nightmare. You should not take such risks. Ridiculous.
I could spend my life on the couch playing video games and eating chips............

Or we could go retro and play manic miner lol

Me too!
OMG. Love your videos but catch myself holding my breath till your safe outside. Hope you have a GPS with you. Thanks again.
GPS won't work in a mine. It needs a clear view of the sky.
That rat, was not a rat, the tail was all wrong... It looked like a chinchilla

Kind of
surprised you went in this mine. Very bad shape.
Hey you slacker, you are just going to have to get up earlier in the morning. Then you will have daylight to get home.😆
