Kryz Reid is an excellent guitarist. I think he has helped Third Eye Blind tremendously. Love his guitar work in “Back to Zero” and “Kids are coming to take you down”

Hi guys... Wilco is on tour now. Im begging you please try and make a new rig rundown with them... But this time all of them!!! (Jeff Tweedy's board is a mystery i wish to solve.. with those 3 volume pedals wtf) Last one you made with Nels Cline is one of my favourite videos on UA-cam and I keep coming back to it like an old movie. Thanks guys for your amazing work.
OK, time for some honesty… when I saw who was gonna do the interview😫, I was ready to flip to another video🤬. However, I was really intrested in this rig rundown so I thought to myself🤔, ok, I'll tough it out. I am very happy that I did because it was a great rig rundown. I got to see players tool boxes, cool, neat, little toys. (I love and use curly cables as well. ) I gained another different perspective of the Kempers and its debate, and best of all, the guy who did the interview did a really great job. He was not all over the interviewee like he's done prior and actually let the people speak and answer the questions themselves. He appeared to have a good handle of the conversation, the interview, getting the information for the viewer, making the interviewees relax and enjoy the interview itself, and, most importantly, himself. I'm now a believer.. Well played, indeed!! 👏👏👏 🍻 👍👍 🤘🤙
What’s with all the haters? Coming to a video of a band they don’t like? That’s amusing. I mean, it’s free content. PG went out of their way and so did the band. So a bunch of bedroom guitarists can be jealous? 😮

Kemper: making the grind of touring a little (a lot?) easier since 2000-whatever. I'd love to see more than Kempers/Fractal/Line 6, but since Rig Rundown focuses on live shows, it's what we get sometimes. I'd love to see something like a studio tour, which would likely include more real amps, and real cool amps and pedals.
The point of a touring act's rig isn't to be interesting or impressive, it's supposed to be effective and professional. Rig Rundowns come after all that. So it may not be interesting to you but it's what the band needs.
yobhsiFehT It’s funny, the folks who made the decision to buy the Kemper/Modeling rigs get so salty when others who prefer tube amps and traditional pedals make comments regarding tone. I am all for getting a “profiling” unit, when I am paid to do so. The fact remains that all the digital units become outdated/obsolete over time.
The PG interviewer sensed something in the 3eb tech that threw him off his game. Couldn't tell what it was but I only noticed it a while after it started and don't care to rewatch. I do the same exact thing in convos occasionally, and never done meth. It's a tough mental place to get out of once you feel behind like that, but that PG dude knows his stuff. Hope it helps hahah.
Rig Rundown should be reserved for groups that use gear . I get why big touring act use a Kemper but I would rather see Rig Rundowns of popular bands in small market cities and even popular tribute bands would be cool . I live close to Columbus , Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio . PG should do a show where they feature a local band that is popular , do a rig rundown and post a live show every week . Be cool to hear a good band in Little Rock, Arkansas and the next episode in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . I would have people summit the shows and a rig rundown with a good host . Have a criteria of sound , volume and charge a $40 entry fee with no refunds so it would influence serious inquiries . No musicians wants to waste $40 lol and if they do that's their fault . It would be great promotion for the bands and PG . If a band can't put together a rig rundown , then they need to put the gear down !!!!
Did that feel weird to anyone but me? It felt like everyone was stepping on each other's sentences, and by the end the interviewer seemed like he didn't want to be there anymore.
To update with some research on the Iceman, the 1989 tour was Paul Stanley's solo tour. After a bit more research, super doubtful that it's real. If it is, it's a customized (new pickups after Paul gave it away) import. Only the import Paul Stanley or production Iceman guitars had the bolt-on neck.
If, and that's a big "if"... Paul gave a tech that guitar, it would have been one of the cheap imports that he smashed during R'n'R All Nite but more importantly... it would have had to have been in 1979 at the latest since KISS didn't tout in the US again until 1982 and Paul was playing Hamer and then BC Rich after that. Paul played Steinbergers on his 1989 solo tour and didn't go back to Icemans until '92, then Washburn then back to Ibanez. I'm a longtime KISS fan who saw Paul several times on that '89 tour and every KISS tour since 1979. I've also owned and played Icemans since the 80's.

Pulling it out going, “this is his #1 Les Paul” and then right back into the rack. It’s a waste of time. Be nice too if the PG made an effort to ask a few questions instead of just trying to be a buddy. 🙄
Those tuners they advertise in the beginning are utter garbage unless you play non-extended range guitars in standard tunings. Good luck getting them to work well otherwise.
This was super boring, just a handful of headstock dates and cliche star wars names. We got crap for specs in each 15 second guitar showcase, 0 tones (smug shits calm down, it doesnt take having played 100 arena shows to assume you might get a chord or 2 here) and kempers....nothing against kemper but in this context there's just nothing interesting about them, it's like "here's my box that looks just his box and everyone else's box that I make sound like an amp I could have just bought to begin with" (smug shits again calm down, I get why kempers are used). Maybe it's just me but I like seeing and hearing the stories behind old amps, pedals and guitars but you're not getting any cool history with a kemper, it'll naver make for an episode like the Peter Frampton one.
