Tommy Robinson is the co-founder and former spokesman and leader of the English Defence League (EDL) "street protest" movement, and also founded the European Defence League. For a short time in 2012 Robinson was joint Party Vice Chairman of the British Freedom Party. He led the EDL from 2009 until 8 October 2013, when he was persuaded to quit the organisation and to discuss alternative ways of tackling extremism with the think tank Quilliam.

@Mick Langley I don't believe that the way to combat extremist views is through violence and intimidation, I think that just drives those individuals more into their ideology, whether they be extremist muslims or extremist EDL/BNP, I think that the only way to combat the extremist views is to attack the source of the views, which is ultimately ignorance, and the only wayy to fight ignorance is through education and reform
@Mick Langley Fair point, maybe I misspoke, I mean that, throughout history, the undesirable traits shared by cultures which we know to be morally wrong by todays standards; racial superiority, disparity of the sexes, caste systems etc, have been phased out through history due to continual education and reformation of ones beliefs due to multiculturalism. If a person to say that X race is bad, and were to find positive exchanges with that race due to close proximity because of multiculturalism, then they would have to reform their own beliefs or live in isolation. I think the basic maxim that all should strive towards, and I think that we are as humans, is that a people or act are/is fine as long as it does not interfere forcefully with the activities of another

No, because religion makes seemingly normal, functional people, do horrid and wicked things, and is extremely powerful in doing so. It breeds this sort of behavior. It teaches to never question or think rationally about the negatives of said religion. Religions are based on wishful thinking, and accepting what you have been told, without the need for evidence. It has a lot to do with ego psychology (i.e ego defence mechanisms, superego, phallic developmental changes within the brain etc) But that would make this comment too long.

I listened to a teacher from Rotherham on radio 4 who tried continually warn of the sexual abuse against young girls because he could see the warning signs in pupil's. The council sacked the man rather than investigate. That situation was a cover up and totally shamefull.

Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world today, and the vast majority of that persecution takes place in Muslim countries at the hands of Muslims. Tommy was right to point out that Christians don't react in the same way to persecution as Muslims do. It probably helps that the primary figure of Christianity was a man of peace whose message was love, and not an imperialist warlord whose message was submission.

I am not a muslim but I do work with a very switched on, REAL muslim. Sharia Law applies only to Mulsims so in the event sharia law is implimented (which it never will in a western country) it only applies to Muslims anyway, non mulsims wouldnt be tried by sharia law. but the point of me saying that is that its the little details like this that people miss out, please find a real muslim and just talk with them, i have learnt so much about islam and even though i will always be an athiest I see that real muslims are not a problem it is a culture similar to football hooligans ie the minority that cause trouble and do not correctly follow the religions rules/morals. Muslim countries do not differentiate between people of different religions, because the religious law is implemented into state law, one of the key differences between western culture and Islamic culture is separation or lack thereof church and state. In this case any law which came into being based on Islamic teaching would indeed apply to everyone. Unless you think the Christian who was whipped for selling alcohol asked for it, which is not a problem for a Christian but Islam sure doesn't like it.
Additionally 23% of Muslims in the UK wanting Sharia law, 78% of Muslims disagree with our schooling and some laws in the, 44% of Muslims in the UK condone the stoning of adulterers. The list of terrifying percentages goes on so i disagree entirely that it is a small enough minority to simply ignore and pass of as a few clueless radicals. Moreover even if it did only apply to Muslims if implemented in the UK it would be illegal by most UK laws and the laws of some barbaric religion will not override the laws of the nation. Period.
I know Sharia law will never be implemented in Western countries unless something goes terrifyingly apocalyptically wrong but I have my own reasons for disliking Islam and Muslims, which i details in my prev post. To sum it up for you though it has nothing to do with what they believe really, although it is fucking stupid and barbaric, it has everything to do with this idea they have in their heads that somehow their violent backwards religious teachings somehow override the laws of the country they moved too because Islamic countries are generally shit holes and they didn't want to live there anymore. See the protests against books they don't like and schools teaching a curriculum they don't like as perfect examples. I have no problem if they want to practice Islamic barbarism in their own country but when they go to another country (again because Islamic countries are all shit) with a different culture, don't integrate and begin making demands that we change our culture or laws to accommodate them that's when i have a problem with them. You hit the nail on the end with the situation. Even though not all Muslims are radical, the percentages that are radical are extraordinarily high, high enough for this to be a big problem in the next few decades. People tend to think 99% of Muslims have western-aligned ideals coated with religious elements and that it is the remaining 1% that are radicalised when truth be told that isn’t the case. A very small % will commit terrorism, but hundreds of millions support the Sharia Worldwide but haven’t got the stones to act on their beliefs unless they have monumental backup.
As a response to this argument I have heard plenty of times ‘if that many Muslims were radicalised you would see war right now’. And no we wouldn’t. Predominantly non-Islamic militaries would steamroll even if outnumbered 10-1. They know if they started a war it would be suicide, that’s why you see the corrupt elitists smuggling them into countries via the back door de-stabilise the population and swing the ratio heavily in their favour.
The biggest victims in all this are the Muslims who are smart enough to not follow the radical elements. They are persecuted by their extremist brethren because they would assimilate should they have to.
