Now I remember why I was so fascinated by toy vehicles of all sorts. I used to pretend i was small enough to fit inside them, and drive them around, and this episode is the exact one that piqued my imagination in that way.
I remember being a little boy, seeing how upset Gumby was when he discovered his train got away. I always felt bad for him. This is the first time I’ve seen this episode in about 15 years, and I immediately remembered how sad that part would make me.
I understand creativity and the artistic mind buh.... ahhhh. I sense the infuence of chemicals. Even when I was a kid the Gumby world was...deeep. Gumby was hands down my favorite. The toys and the colors.
Love the classic Capitol stock music and the vintage toys seen in this episode! At 3:15 is a Marx O-gauge train set, with locomotive 666 up front. The railroad crossing flasher at 7:20 is also from Marx, and the train first seen at 7:24 is an HO-scale HObbyline model train set, pulled by an 0-4-0 "YardBird" steam locomotive and tender. The van at 8:14 is a Tonka Rescue Squad ambulance, complete with the official Civil Defense logo on it. I've always loved how the model trains in the Gumby universe can carry their tracks wherever they want to go.

When Art Clokey died in 2010, I used a screencap of Gumby crying there as a simple tribute.

That rocking horse's eyes looks like something you'd see in a nightmare.
And the scene looked right out of 'The Rocking Horse Winner'. If you've not heard of it, look it up and you'll see what I mean.
