I get why you're not necessarily recommending Dream of Cenarius, it doesnt have a lot of value in keys below +25, and it's hard to use for players looking to pick up Bear, who you are likely making this guide for. But it is one of the reasons why Bear is so broken in the highest level of keys atm. Damage is very spiky at the moment, and DoC instantly heals up one of your allies after they took a damage spike. It can literally save multiple lives each run, and generally helps your healer immensely. With DoC, in the class tree, I'd put the 3rd point into Incessant Tempest. A bit of CDR on your AoE stop never hurts. :P Innervate is usually only good when you are in voice with your healer anyways, and it's even lass value at the moment as healers hardly run out of mana with evokers in groups anyways. If you don't want to drop Ursoc's Endurance, another point you can try dropping is Berserk: Ravage. That means you cant Mangle-Raze constantly in Incarn, but using Thrash and/or a 2nd Raze before your next Mangle doesn't hurt your damage that much. It just feels not quite as awesome to play, so generally i prefer to pick Ravage over Ursoc's Endurance, but its definitely a preference thing ;)
Thorns of Iron is a huge DPS increase, roughly 6-8% of your total damage in M+. It's definitely too good to give up. Brambles is around 5-6% of your total damage, too, so sacrificing either of those really isn't worth the tradeoff. Ursoc's Endurance is great defensively, and it adds a bit of damage through Thorns of Iron, but it's the most justifiable loss if you want to use DoC.
Hey @WoWatNight, Dorky (I think) said that Protector of the Pack isn't as good as people think because it is a flat value and doesn't gain the bonus from Dream of Cenarius. Is this true?
Yeah, it's true. PotP is a separate heal that is also applied to the target of your Regrowth cast. Because you can't cast Regrowth while tanking without DoC, PotP is a capstone talent that is reliant on a talent in the other tree to be usable at all. This is an extremely bad design. That being said, it is an extra 50-70k heal tacked onto your Regrowths, so it's a useful healing increase if you're going with that setup. Not great, definitely not close to good enough for its position in the tree and opportunity cost, but usable.
@WoWatNight sry dude I thought that's tell me when addon but it was your weak aura. I downloaded it. It's awesome! Actually the most gorgeous weakaura I've ever seen. Wished you make more of that weakaura for other classes. BTW your contents are 👌.
I personally find my NoCarn build much nicer. I kept MF and still Raze my butt off. I lose the 2minute big CD Incarn pulls, but I'm stronger overall. I also find, since I pug ALOT, that Incarn loses a ton of value if you aren't in a coordinated group. The amount of damage Incarn gives is actually quite pathetic, it just gives you more HP to buffer yourself for a big pull. If you have dps that can maximize that big pull and knock out multiple packs then it works..... however in pugs, what is more likely is that you are going to Incarn, pull multiple packs, have 1-3 people in your party die to avoidable.... and unavoidable.... damage and spend just as much time getting the party back up and moving as you saved. My NoCarn build makes me tankier and gives ME more damage than Incarn can ever do, but it forces smaller pulls because I never have those big windows.Ironically, because I still have GG, I Raze more than your average Incarn build because my rage gain is higher.
Hey there! I like the logic behind that reasoning and I'm in a very similar situation pugging 90% of my time. Can you share that build or mention the important talent changes? Cheers!
I would also like this build if you can link it. I used a nocarn build prior to 10.1.5 but I replaced it like a numpty. The build I have feels clunky and just boring to play.

What about dropping thorns for dream? Trade dmg for self heals? Also got my mage tower tank bear in 9 try’s thanks to your guide

Yes. It is a flat value that is not multiplied by Dream..... sadly

The big downside is that mean s your group is also doing less damage. Big aoe from big pulls is what make bear sexy

I've tried multiple times to reply to this, but I'm seeing none of them. Lets see if this works.@@casebast
