My name is Eric and I travel with my cats, “Tara” & “Opie” in a 24ft 2002 Ford Bigfoot Class C and tow either a 2014 lifted Smart Car named “Tater Tot” or my 2012 Harley Softail Slim named “Black Betty” in a 6x10 trailer. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010.

Would a timer help? Have it turn on the hot tub about 3hrs before sun rise and turn it off (?) at midnight (?) so it doesn’t completely drain your system.
Worth a shot! I've never used the timer function. I'll mess around with it.

It would be nice here right now today got to 12.C but a few more days and I see a 20 pity it didn't stay like that but its now just gone winter here.
About 10% or less humidity cools down fast after dark when you would use it.
800Ah @ what Voltage? Even @ 12V that would mean 9.6kWh. So down to 17% would mean you used approx. 8kWh? Some losses in the inverter would still mean 7.5kWh in heat energy. How many hours did the batteries support the heater? Rather than using Ah, which mean nothing without the voltage, try to use Wh, or kWh, then things become much more clear.
Everyone knows hot tubs are cool for a few weeks or use every now and then but soon get old quickly. Too much focus on it seems very juvenile.

In this scenario I would go with a heat-pump, should give 1:3 at least, AND a rocket stove design if more power is required. However: Is it worth it? All needs to come down when freezing...
I believe there is a rechargeable power pack that is rated for 3500 watt hrs that can run the hot tub..hear they make a 5000 one to..Blue Eddie? Solar rechargeable. Just an idea 💡 😉 😏
You should try butterflying your chicken drumsticks next time. They cook faster and flavor is even better when grilled.
What if you built an insulated box from lightweight foam insulation sheets which you could place over the tub at night? Like a giant DIY cooler, but in this case, holding in heat like a thermos.

Ive seen some firewood stoves with copper coiled inside that you could pump the hottub water through to heat it. For those cloudy rainy days where it would lose temp, plus you could roast some hotdogs or burgers over the fire that way 😂

How to heat a pool or hot tub, dont try to use solar cel to electric. use a solar hot water heater to heat the water way more efficent then converting to electric to operate heater..make your own solar hot water heater.. UA-cam can show you how..

I have a weird idea , how about one of those off grid showers that are for campers that run on propane , put the intake into the pool and just run the hot water back into the hot tub

How about a fire box and run the pipes through that to warm the water? Burn some of that wood you got piled up over there.
Brother, I lived in my RV for almost 7 years until recently and I'm in northern Az. I was living in an RV park and only had a 25 ft White water hose to the RV. The first 30 seconds or so of water would come out Scalding hot until the tankless water heater took over. I think if you got one of those spiral jobs or the other one you showed you could store the water over night and give it a good blast around noon. Just a thought.
Other are suggesting using fire, but you need it for night time. Who is going to man a fire all night? Just saying.
I use a Hot splash heat pump on my hot tub 600watts of power for 3.75kw of heat, what I do is overheat it in the day and it's still hot enough for the morning, works great in the UK with lower temps than what you have, I'm sure running at 600 watts with more output will sort your power usage out

I guess I'm confused here. You have 800 Amp Hours of Battery, which equals around 9600 watt hours, right? So you are pulling 1400 watts with the tub heater, shouldn't the batteries run the heater for about 6.85 hours ?
i love a hotter hot tub (like you do) but the hubby likes it too cool so we always fuss with each other if we go somewhere that has one, lol.
Have you considered a rocket stove with a water heater coil plumbed into the tub’s water pump? Seems like you could run it at night with no issues… Keep the sweet videos rolling! Love our hot tub too!

Just run the generator when you want to use the hot tub. You’re only going to use it every now and then.

Just invest in more batteries. Figure out how much you use and get more.

Just a thought how about enclosing under the solar panels and some insulation with lights and a sound system would be perfect for that small space

Kept 4 person 102 in minus 5 temps. That cover isn't insulated. You had cover blowing in wind. Which meant air getting underneath. You need to put a additional tarp insulating blanket on top. I finally built a small wood structure around mine. Fully insulated. I'd pump that water through just like a old still. You can also get same unit 2 person. That's lot of water keep that warm.
Be cool to create a wood burning heater for the tub

How much Wh do these power banks have? 700-1000? So one fully charged could run the heater roughly 20-30 minutes?
With this setup I don't see a reason for power banks. Rather increase battery capacity from the main system.
Eric, can you incorporate Trailer Swift into your system and increase your capacity and backup.

Used to have a solar water heater (with a storage tank) on the roof of a place that we used to be renting. It supplied the whole house with HOT water. Yeah it was HOT: panel was about the size of ONE of your electric panels. The thermostat stopped working, and it actually started BOILING the water - and shooting out of the safety valve. So yeah... they CAN get very hot.
A small woodstove with a manifold , a good stove will stay hot almost all night , a very small pump will circulate the v water .. water coming out is so hot you can't touch it, I heated a whole house with it

First, Happy Birthday, Eric. Have you considered an LP powered hot tub heater? Or how about running a generator just long enough to get it hot? Regardless, even with the way it is now, it is well worth having IMO.
