Stunning vehicle. Well done Hyundai/Kia showing the European brands (and Land Rover) how to do it.
Jaysus. I love that. The back and all.
Nice touch with the letter H lights. Looks very like a Kia EV9 with a sprinkle of Range Rover.
I would love to see how this will compare to Mazda CX 80.
Impressive looking machine great video Mark
Loved it right up to you said 70grand
@@dennisj100 better than the 100k audi👍
Too much for a Hyundai
Great review Mark. I like the front and inside of it but the rear is horrendous. I know it’s practical but still couldn’t live with it 😂
Horrible rear end!!
Great review! For some reason it reminded me of the silver Fiat Tempra estate my friend's mother had back in the 90s 😂. Nice yoke though, even if a little ott on size for most families
Forgot about them...
Great video again Nobby. The design looks great from the front and side but a bit hideous from the rear. Looks like a good package all round. I think if your spending that money on a car you should be getting a sliding panoramic roof as standard. Considering it's a 7 seater it's probably competitively priced. If I didn't need the 7 seats I'd still be buying the Toyota Rav4 plug-in hybrid in GR spec for 10k less and bags more power. Keep the vids coming
Great review as always. A land rover product with reliability. That rear end though !!
i dont quite get the need for a glass roof for our market as it seldom stops raining. The shape and size remind me of its "cousin" the Kia EV9
It’s about light not sun
Wish we got the phev in Australia
Great review Nobby back reminds me of an old Ssangyong Rodius Horrible
A very split reaction
The back kinda reminds me of a later VW Transporter T3
Thanks for the great overview. Would love to know your thoughts as to which is the better driver’s car, this new Sante Fe or the new Kodiaq?
Kodiaq 190bhp has more urgency to it for sure
Its growing more on me. PHEV will be in UK as can configure on website.i have itbas a company car option.....will depend on the elec range for me as lower tax the higher the range
A friend got it in US, was only forced to return it back to the dealership. Transmission was noisy and jerky! They replaced it! But then after a month it cane back! Eventually dealership had to take it back
70k for a Hyundai 😅😂🎉
@@thug3m I read that in some countries they had suspended sales because of this issue 👍
It's a known issue, but I don't think they have suspended sales! That would be to responsible of them.
PHEV uses different transmission to the DCT
@@onslimited it happened to a u tuber in the states, Hyundai bought the car back!!
These cars are practical up to the point where you try and park them in a standard parking spot or in a multistorey. kerrunch!
The back end is awful, up there with the back end of the new Kona.
Good review tks.
Thinking Volvo estates in the 70s, 80s maybe 90s design-wise. Good XL family all rounder. Pity the Palisade is not an option in this market. Having said that this represents a very decent large SUV with loads of tech. at this price point when compared with rivals. Worth a ponder if you need 7 seats.
The sizes and prices are ridiculous.💀
I SPY something beginning with ''H''...It's fine to run with a theme, but the ''H'' thing is wayyy overdone, that is until you get to the Hyundai logo!, now I could probably get the joke if your car initials were *BJ*, And if Range Rover did this sort of thing no doubt they would be sued by Royce.
In short, the only car to come with a sharps disposal unit.
Looks like a box from back side of a car but looks good
Why do Hyudai put the indicators in the rear bumper of all their cars. Hate them.
Rear end of a bus , ps for 70k better be real leather , or that be pealing in no time , redesigned SsangYong
This was designed by a range rover fan🎉 but hopefully more reliable. 70 k is actually the good for this size of vehicle, does it have the 5 year warrenty? I am aware of early gearbox / transmission issues on thus model....
5 year unlimited mileage
Do you know if there is a diesel engine version coming out soon?
There is a diesel but may not be coming to Ireland
Modern day ssangyong rodius
Yeah, the back is VERY plain. There is a very big indication from the side that they have parked the Land Rover Defender outside the design office when designing it. Still think there needs to be a Diesel engine in the range.
Good chance it’ll appear here I think
Afternoon mate it's not that nice at the back I agree
Does it have DC charging like new Kodiaq?
@@Milan-p5n no
Annoyed they don't do a 5 seater version of it, yes I know you can fold down the 3rd row of seats but the 3rd row of seats evern folded down takes up cargo space under the floor which could be used for storage. I have a 5 seater X-Trail and we use that storage space when taking the dogs away. Also I've heard the 1.6 litre engine is not very good for towing, and it is darn expensive for a Hyundai. Apart from that, not a bad looking car.
Genuinely looks like a Range Rover from the front
100%
Not sure about the car but the Phoenix Park looks wonderful in the sunshine.
This one of those “Oh Sh$t” cars. Good looking front and sides, practical, well built, well priced, great trim… and than you get to the back and go “Oh SH$T!”. Honestly, it is bad enough for me to completely discard it. A real shame.
The rear is my favorite part of the car, but I guess it depends on how nostalgic one is for early 90s designs.
70k for a Hyundai. World's going mad.
Am I the only 1 to think it looks horrible from every angle? It looks like a plastic cheap toy enlarged and as pretty as a Sssangyong Rodius! But he Ssangyong Rodius didn't cost 70 grand!
mixed reaction, some loving it some hating it!
It’s derivative, but it will be more reliable than the Range Rover alternative.
If ye want 7 seats is a VW Multivan a more practical option 🤷♂️
Yes but with a 1.4 litre engine for 7 passengers?
True, but struggling to see how these seven seat SUV things are a practical solution for a family of 6 or more @@columcreaven8860
I like everything but the price. So expensive it is.
Not cheap.
16-60..😂
All cars are way overpriced after the covid excuse. A feather would chip the paint on a Hyundai/Kia.
"A family were found trapped in their car today. Garda explained to their right was parked a Kia EV9 and to their left a Hyundai Sante Fe".
I jest........but only sorta. 😮😂
Two words, good grief!
🤣
The new Peugeot 5008 is better looking and is way Cheaper
Doesn’t have the same space inside
Looks a lovely car. Shame it's crap! The battery is good for circa 50km and it will take about 3.5 hours to charge it. When fully charged , about 7 mins on the M50 and it's basically gone! And then your just carrying dead weight.
The bings and bongs will put you in a mental home!
And then there is the widely reported transmission failures already!
Seems to be OK, for town or city driving but really to big for just that and at €70k plus with sunroof, a tad expensive for just town/city driving.
Other than the above, I like the looks of it.
For anyone that does any kind of serious driving though, stay away from it!
The M50 is 45km end to end, so your statements here are just nonsense. However, 72900 for a Hyundai, is absolutely laughable.
@r1cha4d driving at 100km to 120km per hour will drain the battery quicker than driving at 50km per hour.
I purchased a 2023 Santa Fe phev on last year. I kept it for 59 days and was very lucky to off load it. I speak from experience. Do you ?
Too big, too slow, not enough bhp, too expensive. Nice enough t though, can’t see anyone buying it with new model BMW X3 which is big enough for anyone also starting at 70k
7 seats in the X3?
…street price around 50k€. X1 is the real competitor here - price-wise! So I’d say: BMW is a lot smaller, less comfortable and for sure less fancy….🤷🏻♂️
And you are getting the Santa Fe fully loaded for
The worst rear design in the world 🌎
Colour doesn’t help, I’ve seen it in darker colours and it’s a bit better. A bit.
Good God, its hideous
