Kimura Sweep from Half Guard | BJJ Technique

After an awesome rolling session, I show a high percentage half guard sweep that I have been using for the last few years while using a Kimura grip and the "knee lever" to get them over.

This is a great question! One thing I didn’t explain well is that I shoulder walk up some so my opponent is on my hips more. This makes it so when I hip in for the sweep it kills that post if they post out. Now if I’m lazy with that and they do post out strong, I have a couple off moves I can go to from there with the Kimura grip.

First sweep was a knee lever. The most under utilized sweep of all time. Lovely.

Great move, I'm going to drill it some on Sat open mat. I get stuck here from Z guard at times and have to let the Kimura go. I love how the BJJ community is always sharing and giving back. Thanks Bro.

You’re welcome sir! Let me know how it goes. The biggest thing that I struggled with on this is the timing and making sure I use the knee lever. After you get that down it’s easy.
