Atlantic puffins live in the cool waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. After spending months at sea, they form vast island colonies for the annual breeding season. From April to September, the rocky real estate becomes home to thousands of underground burrows, each protecting a single egg.
It can be tough to survive in these conditions, especially with gulls on patrol. We ventured into a puffin burrow to learn how these seabirds raise their young - from incubating eggs to feeding hungry pufflings.

when we went to puffin Island in Iceland I was really suprised how small these birds actually are. Like they are so freaking tiny but look pretty average in size on pictures and videos
Puffin Island is a great place, right?
And true that, they really look bigger on camera than off camera.
I've started watching Puffin Rock with my little one and I'm obsessed with these birds now!

Charming birds! It's awful how much the heavy metals and dioxins in the fish are bioaccumulating in these poor birds.
Yes, it really is! And sea birds like puffins are also on the climate change frontline..overfishing, higher sea temperatures and so on are really making their life though.
Amazing video! This also highlights the importance of not intruding on wildlife territory as they too have colonies just like us and they too like us dont like to take in intruders.

Remarkable footage through and through. I had a dog, a golden retriever, who had the most innocent sort of eyes a lot like that seen in the puffin. Deceased. Dogs' all too short lives.

Ik people really like the atlantic puffin but like cmon theres also the horned puffin and the even more beautiful crested puffin!
The horned Puffin is also great, and the crested is truly beautiful! We hope that we can film many more puffin species in the future.

how do they catch all that fish without dropping any? it's amazing, since they've only got one beak. i imagine it'd be hard to hunt and not lose your earlier catch, unless they catch that many at a go, which is also impressive.

I officially hate gulls now, ive always had a distast for them but after watching multiple videos about Puffins.. i wish we could somehow remove them from that area for good.
