What to know about Sen. Menendez's corruption case as jury selection begins

Jury selection began Monday in the corruption trial of Sen. Bob Menendez. The New Jersey Democrat is accused of taking bribes from three businessmen in the form of cash, gold bars and a Mercedes-Benz in exchange for political favors. They have never broken the law. Menendez has done these things and it was ignored like all the other Democrats, but he started voicing opposition to Biden, and bam, the Dems brought down the ax. Same thing with Henry Cuellar. He was doing corrupt things and it was fine with the Dems until he got vocal about illegal immigration, and now he gets charged. How else do people think that Democrat representatives and senators speak with one mouth and vote with one brain in lockstep? They must vote as they are told, or they will be charged with a crime.
