This was great. I have strong Excel skill but done some of this stuff I have rarely used in a couple decades and I was able to click around and fill in the things lost!
Very late to this, but at 6:23 you start to talk about restricting the view for users with help of VBA, is there a video of this? Thanks. This will be very helpful with a dashboard / tool I am trying to build
Thanks. Nice example. One small trick I use.. for the input cells, if you add an upper and left cell border that is say 2 grades darker than your grey background and use a line style of the thickest or next to thickest option possible, then your fields will have that "sunken" look of a data entry field vs. just the flat look of a cell. It makes users comfortable and familiar with the input area, as it matches that of a dialog box or typical sunken input fields that they encounter in other software. Hope someone finds this useful. Thanks for the videos, tips, techniques and code examples. Thumbs up!! PS - You can use the same technique to the right and bottom of the entire greyed out range to make it look raised up which some find appealing :))
That is an very nice and easy-to-use trick! You are so very right about small formatting changes making it easier for people to follow. I love it when something simple finally pops up in Excel haha! Thanks for sharing the tip Wayne! :)
I re-verified my macro multiple times but the "get the next empty row is flaging on me and not allowing to macro to not work as intended. Any recommendations?
This is excellent. I need your help. How can I make data Base form that can allow me to enter marks of different subjects, and find position average, total, and prepare parents report cards automatic?
Hi I want to understand how to I make a form in Excel that can be sent to users as a link for data collection. Due to data security I can't use Microsoft or Google forms
Do you have this same example but instead of the inputs going into cells on another sheet, the inputs go into a table. I did this but I can't get the values into a table.
Nice, but why did TeachExcel not show how the MACRO was recorded? I have an alergic reaction to VBA and simply showing how the Macro is recorded would explain how the table is populated when you press SAVE.

Great tutorial!
Very useful for less advanced users who have to enter data in a form. Thank you!!!
Thanks Ivan! Yea, I kind of got a little obsessed with doing form based tutorials lol.
Wow, I have been looking for the cell tabbing method for a long time. You make it so simple with no coding.. Thanks a lot for sharing this knowledge

Thank you. Does it work the same for an Excel Table?
All are very good..but after entering the information, pressing the enter button on the keyboard and running the macro yourself would be better.

Hi
I want to understand how to I make a form in Excel that can be sent to users as a link for data collection. Due to data security I can't use Microsoft or Google forms
Thanks it helped me a lot !!!!!!!!
Well it looks nice and simple enough but I can't get the VBA to work it keeps debugging, Maybe MS disabled VBA or something by now.
Do you have this same example but instead of the inputs going into cells on another sheet, the inputs go into a table. I did this but I can't get the values into a table.
Go to the "Data" sheet and click anywhere in the data. Then click insert table.
Nice, but why did TeachExcel not show how the MACRO was recorded? I have an alergic reaction to VBA and simply showing how the Macro is recorded would explain how the table is populated when you press SAVE.
same here, i stopped at the store_data macro part 😢
Lot of missing information such as how do we link two sheets
It did not work for me
😊😊😊😊
