This was my fav Foo era. They still felt like kinda grungy
Agreed. The first three albums were perfect. After that I lost interest. But I still love revisiting these old live videos.
@@codeblue8922 i lost interest too after the 3rd album… I feel they lost a bit of edge
@@Rgdonaire_07 I wonder what happend to rock? Why don't good songs get made like this anymore?
First album is the only decent one.
@@JohnyX333x you need to get your ears checked.
R.I.P. Taylor. Man, I can't believe it.
Believe it, brah. He’s pushin’ up daisies.
Don't use drugs man
@@Jbb6782you’re a nice human, brah!
This was my first ever festival concert as a 16 year old. Awesome memories. Thank you so much Taylor Hawkins! RIP Brother!
Nice choice for a first concert! I was there too - mainly for Foo Fighters and Limp Bizkit
Since you were there, as a cameraman I just gotta ask, How did that long ass cablecam work? Was there a guy on there or could you see how they controlled the spin? Do you remember? If not, noworries! Just curious!
Foo Fighters were my first ever concert in Boston for the Wasted Light tour. I was 15 :)
2016 and he's still chewing that gum.
+SurfingOnBrainwaves how it feels to chew 5 gum
Long may he chew
Taking that gum to the gra.... I don't even want to think about that... Dave's going to live forever.
SurfingOnBrainwaves Stride; the ridiculously long lasting gum.
2017 same gum....
48:43 Dave *Growl*.
"Make my way back home whe- AAAAAAAAAAAA." 6:11
LOL
This live version of I’ll Stick Around is the best version of it. Such an underrated song. Dave’s energy and performance is other worldly in this
This is right!👍
It was great till the end when he doesn't sing all the last part as in the album, which is the best part of the song actually
Underrated??? Wthf, how young are you that you don't know what a huge hit this was when it came out? lol
everlong is the perfect sunset song for any festival. Colorful clouds above you, that magnificent intro part kicks in and you become the most chill person in the planet.
This setlist is absolutely insane. What I wouldn't do to be able to go back and see this for myself!
same bro 😔
You just went🙃
@@Tony-fx9ky yeah just went through the computer 😄 but we need a time machine though
I saw them open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers around this same time and they were amazing! It made me a fan again of the foos.
59:20 "What do you do when all your enemies are french" XDDDD
slick
HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOO! HERE WE GO!! HERE WE GO!!
*whistle*
young dave so handsome :D
+blubberblahh he is ugly!!!
Gay.
Madera Paulice Dornpartment ClassicalH may be a girl. And even if he/she was gay would there be something wrong in your opinion
@@vilimbubas1302 you are incorrect.
God damn it this comment reply section is cancer
That "Stacked Actors" song was killer. Love the energy of this show; the crowd definitely got their money's worth.
I love the chemistry. Usually when they stop right before they kick into breakout the crowd will sing it. But since they didn’t sing it they knew to play the full chorus
As epic and amazing as they have become, literally nothing touches that first album - every song is gold
The color and the shape is at least 2% better but Lord they’re both so good.😭🤟
Chris looks so damn happy!
That drone footage is priceless !thankyou filmers 🤟🏾🤎✌🏾🥁🦅💘
I'll Stick Around is one of my top fav's of all time. The ending verse section is killer.
39:16 love the Slayer reference. Dave is such a metal head (notice the No Remorse riff at 33:15)
I love how many songs they play from their first album here. Their most underrated work
it's their best album, as far as i'm concerned. check out their show fr Brixton Academy in London 11/15/1995, mostly all self titled album with Colour & The Shape, few b-sides, and covers sprinkled into the set. and they are absolutely *CRUSHIN* it

Describe dave grohl in 3 words
"HERE WE GO"
Still in shock. RIP Taylor.
Yeah man it fucking sucks shine on Taylor
What a great performance from a great band. One thing I love about Dave is he's so funny. If I stood face to face with him, I'd probably fall to the ground laughing.
This is honestly my fave lineup! Ben, Taylor + Chris backing Dave without all the extra players. Lean and ferocious. And they made better albums back then, too.
Ben?
You mean Nate i guess.. my fav lineup too though
One of their best performances that I've seen.
This is the Foo Fighters, the addition of Pat and Rami where great but without any one of these four guys it’s no longer Foo Fighters…thanks for posting this show..it really brought me back to when playing music really excited me…I’m in my late ‘50’s now and having a pain free day and taking a good poop is what makes me happy now.#gettingoldsucks
a good poop is always a highlight of my day.
24:17 hahaha wtf Dave
I remember 2002 I seen them in Melbourne big day out... was a a stary night and they played times like these.. I said to my self , ill never forget this moment in my life..march 2022 I seen them in Geelong and they opened with times like these and It brang back soo much memorys...RIP oliver Taylor hawkins , love you brother!!
Rip Taylor thanks for all these years
Seeing these kind of shows remember me when I dress like Dave and wear converse shoes when I was a teenager. Damn, we’re old.
The amazing energy they ( and us) had .... now I realize and preciate .....i miss taylor, this is too sad
I have a big fat crush on 90s and early 2000s Dave Grohl
Fun fact!: before Chris joined foo he was in a very well known punk band by the name of No use for a name and they played two times at bizarre he was one of the best punk guitarists of you listen to Making friends you can hear his true talent foo just dulls him down
¡Tremendo set-list! Ya eran grandes los Fufos en ese entonces, los recuerdo con mucho cariño y los sigo hasta el día de hoy.
¡Gracias Fighters por acompañarme "sin querer" en cada etapa de mi vida con sus canciones! 💯💫🍷
Chris is such a good guitar player, very very very underrated
Yes, I saw him in No Use for a Name and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes band
i love his motion of guitar playing...

Fue elegido "Mejor baterista de rock" en 2005 por la revista de percusión Rhythm del Reino Unido.
What a banger of a concert, so much energy, these guys always give 100%!!!!!!!!!
33:16 NO REMORSE!
No repent!

LOL Nate doing backing vocals!!
He screws up at first and shakes his head in disbelief
And he was never given a microphone again...

9:27 ah yes, dave grohl’s favorite song “seasons in the sun”
Lol that’s nit seasons of the sun that’s my hero

Theyre like athletes. OMG, SO much energy!
I was about to say cocaine makes anyone feel like an athlete, but upon checking and realising Dave has apparently never even tried it, I'm inclined to agree with you
15:00 - 15:10 a touch of touretts?
😂
Love you Dave!
A true rock Legend.
Wow so this was the era when they used to get really fucking drunk before playing? hahaha funny as hell I love it :D
they still do
Yeah lmao. I fucking love how funny they all are
@@youtubr5360 No, they don't, and never have.
@@justinecamp7922 they definitely have
@@justinecamp7922 wasn’t Dave chugging a beer when he broke his leg or am I not remembering correctly.
THAT WAS F$%KING AWESOME.. Dave and the gang have seemed to have run out of steam.. granted 20 years... EVERLONG... classic. the most powerful message ever "If everything could ever be this real forever... If anything could ever be this good again"
I seen them on the MTV tour with the Chili Peppers in Little Rock Arkansas. Respect was given from I that night, they were intense. God bless them. Losing Taylor is such a huge loss. Dave's been through this loss before. I hate this! Love each other. Be thankful for one another! We only have now. Now passes really fast.✌
did somebody noticed that in 33:14 dave starts playing no remorse by metallica???
Aurora - what a tune
29:00 Dave is easily one of theeee all time coolest rock stars. he didn't deserve yet another tragedy like this. RIP Taylor
No one deserves tragedy but we all experience it, no?
@@tomh6588 We all experience it, but i'm willing to argue that there are plenty of fuckers out there who deserve tragedy ten fold.
@@tomh6588 think people look you who pick apart a sympathetic comment deserve it more than others to be honest.
@@updownleftrightish Just food for thought, an innocent question
@@tomh6588 stop being a douche
Dave's voice sounds so melodic and pretty at times~
My god. I was there. It was beautiful
Breaking a string always pisses me off.
But really ticks me off if it breaks during the first song!!!
It helps when you have multiple guitars, and techs there to put the hurr'up on the sitch !!
He rocks to hard YA know. You can't blame him lol
I said to myself it's the first time Dave Grohl sing with no guitar but I realize a while that string on his guitar broke. His voice really amazing!!
@@jamesmunkey3017 There was another concert on MTV back in the days when Dave used the acrylic guitar and poured water all over himself and the guitar, and it stopped working. He sung This is a call without a guitar, basically in the front row of the audience. Just killer!
The energy as a four piece back in the 90s and early 2000s was pure and I miss that too. But, granted that I am not the same person as back in the 90s, I can't blame them for changing. I mean, it would be ridiculous if they would be the same. Back then it was an era of post grunge / alternative rock music all over the place. In the charts as well as in TV, festivals, radio.
With Coldplay, the Foo Fighters are the last geants.
50:13 very favorite of the Foo Fighters catalog.
They are like The Rolling Stones, every song they have is a hit.
All there concerts ! Were brilliant ! All there songs ! Amazing band. They kick butts ! Lol
Too much adrenaline.. LOL. He's just awesome!
Back when wearing your guitar on your knees was cool. Glad Pat Smear is keeping it alive
How he hasn’t choked on his gum to this day, blows my mind!
This is the best set list I’ve seen from early foo fighters
RIP Taylor. We miss you!
Stunning!
one of the best shows i ever saw in my life!! (in video)
Taylor beating those goddamn drums like there’s no tomorrow!
Jeezus, Dave That is the best concert intro ive ever seen
Ha Ha I was there too, at a disused air field near Weeze a small town near the German/Dutch border. It was a three-day festival with the usual field of dome tents and portable toilets and piles of rubbish at the end. The Foos were pretty much the headline act, or at least I thought so, being from Seattle originally and a big Nirvana fan from the early days. Saw the Foos many times in a few different countries, but this was one of the best. I nearly got to the stage but my German girlfriend at the time was too scared, hehe. Nice memories. And now sadness about Taylor, RIP dude.
its crazy how shorter hair and a gotee made dave look 40 something 3 years from this show lol
5:33 EMO dave grohl hahaha
Dbudhsudhsudushduw omg
Haha
😆😆😆😆
😂😂😂😂
I love that extra rock riff in MonkeyWrench Live
How impressive their songs were barely known so people still didnt sing along.
They need to put Next Year back into their set, They could do it so great now, with Rami on keys and three guitars. It's one of my favorite songs by them. I doubt they will though.. ugh.
dave has the most badass scream ever.
He cracks me up when he doesn't sing the end of a lyric but screams instead. God bless the brilliant man who lost his best friend and his mom in just a matter of months. That's a tough couple of pills to swallow
😢💔🖤
I Think this is my fav Foo`s Era.
Just wow!!! ❤
Aaaah -- 2000 -- what a great year. Just before the start of the slow decline,.........but I digress. Early Foos,...so good. Skinny Dave -- mass positive energy,..... RIP Taylor.
amazing set list. 2001 was peak live foos.
I would say they have been the best live act every year since then.nobody can touch them
Super rare to see Dave not playing the guitar
I just realized that Nate has a contract and wouldn't quit and thats why he's there to this day. Smart guy.
Nate with the back vocals haha
+Joel Mota When? :O Dude it was Chris not Nate.
+SonicR2000 Cool. Hadn't noticed that LOL
+Davy Grolton its both of em singing backup vocals
Damn. What an awesome show
Am I the only fans who enjoyed things l>ke Weenie Beenie and Floaty and such?
HERE WE GO!
Awesome gig ❤️🤘
He looks cool playing that Gibson Explorer. I might buy one.
When I get the money.
Here's to 25 years of Fighting Foo
a quarter century was a good run
Foo Fighters at the best in the way i like.
dave grohl what a legend i mean he can play perfect drums and guitar and singing and entertainement..
Seasons in the Sun was Cobains favorite song
Great energy, but we can see how his live vocals have improved hugely. As long as he didn't blow out his voice.
Estuve!!!tantos recuerdos
Most bands after playing the same songs a gillion times tend to play them way sped up live. This set almost seems slowed down a tad. That is really respectful to the audience.
