I wish they had spent more time in the Underworld. It was treated as a pitstop more than anything. Yes, the movie is basically a road(boat?) trip story, but the Underwrold was too in-and-out.
AR Shellnut it would have made the movie the longest Disney movie but the song would have been amazing I don't think they would have bonded to early but Moana may have gained a bit more respect for him
I just have this thought. moana's world is HUGE. the potential is limitless. they can easily make moana 2 with the world they set. just let her save another thing goddess by having to go to the realm of monsters
I'm glad Pua was left out, it avoided the cute sidekick trope and replaced it with the inept idiot sidekick. It adds comic relief and Alan Tudyk voicing a ridiculous rooster is brilliant.
I would have liked to see the scene when toddler Moana almost drowns in the movie because it would give her father more of a reason to keep her away from the ocean.
sarabeth1502 I would love to see the brothers be the damsel in distress people would complain but damn sense when is a man captured it's always the woman
I love the concept of Maui having a goddess as a grandma and that she guards the underworld and I like that Ta Kai's name is different. I'm glad that Moana does not have 9 brothers as she wouldn't meet Maui. Love your videos!
Thanks so much, Cinnamon Coffee! Yes, glad they axed her brothers as well. Would have changed the story a lot, I think, and taken longer to get to her going off on her quest. :-)
I love seeing all these ideas that they had. I really think they made appropriate cuts and the movie is amazing thanks to their good sense of story telling.
Deanna Foster I despised Hay Hay and was originally on board for Moana because the movie teased for her little pig companion. I was disappointed when he got nearly no screen time at all.
tanner lawley I've just had my fill of Becky's and Gerald's man. (finding dory) I'm just.. mehhh. I originally jumped on board because I loved the fact that they were going to include Pua. I am the biggest fans of pigs as well so call me biased but pigs are #1. I can go on and on but just eh.
Thanks for showing these deleted scenes and talking about the different directions the movie could have gone. I loved the final film and would LOVE to have the book!
Moana in general felt very rushed for some reason. It was really good, but the pacing felt odd at a few times. Sometimes they'd take it too slow then suddenly its quickly-moving. Like the beginning was a bit drawn out about her town and her relationships, which is okay, but then her adventures with Maui felt rushed and its like a "quick stop and onto the next stop" kinda thing and that ruined the total rhythm of the movie in my opinion.
I believe a few movies followed by a tv series would do "Moana" justice. From what I have seen, Polynesian culture and it's people, aren't covered in depth in cinema. Wether it be on the big screen or small screen, I haven't seen it. IMO, "Moana" has the material necessary to capture a wide audience and bring exposure to these people and their culture. Like, who doesn't find all of this fascinating?!
yeah i agree that pasifika culture doesn't get alot of representation, but I'd prefer to have Moana as a standalone film, but have other shows or series of the same nature - idk to me it just makes more sense
I find it really interesting that the creators originally wanted Moana to have brothers. Furthermore, it seems like the idea of having Moana have 9 brothers originated from the Chinese folk tale 10 Brothers. Awesome vid, I love Moana so much! (:
Shayla McGregor In reality Polynesian families are big in numbers. Very normal & common to have 6-14+ siblings. Moana is suppose to have alot of siblings especially brothers. But I see why they had to change it. Would've been nice since in real life Polynesian girls are surrounded by bunch of over protected brothers..

Flicks And The City My favorite Deleted Scene/Concept Was The Scene when Moana Walks out to the ocean during the storm By the way Please do a Q&A if so please do it you never done it
Flicks And The City I really wish I was as clever as the amazing crew behind this film. Because honestly I have no idea if putting some of these scenes into the movie would have made it better or worse. Although I think there as some really smart and funny ideas that were deleted, I loved the film for what it was. But I really would have loved seeing Maui perform CPR on his arm.
+Yvonne Carbo, I thought it was really interesting why they thought about putting that scene in too, Yvonne. Will add Q&A to my list of things to do at some point! :-)
+ Scott Wood, haha, good point, me too, Scott! :-) It'll be intriguing to see what they decide to do with Moana/Maui next, given its popularity - another film or maybe a TV series? :-)
Flicks And The City I'd love another Moana movie, I can imagine by the next one Moana would have traveled the world. But her responsibilities as chief put a stop to her discovery of new lands. But when she hears word that Maui is in trouble she goes on one last adventure across the sea to rescue her old friend from a dangerous new villain. Or something like that haha.
The fact that Disney artists have been thinking about putting the little piggy 🐷 on the boat with Moana makes sense since she is on the boat with Moana and Maui on the official movie poster.
I would have much much preferred a feral chicken. I mean for crying out loud, how often have we seen "dumb side character who may as well not even be there"?
- Pig should have been in it more - Maoi's grandmother really should have made an appearance - Wish they'd included more monsters on the journey to make that little trip to the underworld seem less out of place
for all those who say Hei Hei is dumbass , he actually saved moana , when the heart ( the green rock thing) allmost fell off the edge once , hei hei saved it and he saved the movie .
Kelly Staples me too at the end of the movie he's still on his back and says this to the audience, "if my name was Sebastian with a Jamaican accent you would help me, you know you would!" I think he says something like that.
Anonymous Candle well there's a large range of accents in Britain and habits of how to pronounce words vary. I've heard a lot of people with a British accent kind of add an 'r' sound to words ending in 'a'
zippety zoop An r sound? Cant say I've ever come across that but depending on how i say some words, take Moana for example, i can sort of hear it? Though it's more of a drawn out a, though i can see why some people might mistake it for an r
I love that the creators made a book all about that scenes that were cut and stuff it lets us know where they were going with the original storyline and how it ended up the way it is, and it inspires people that there are multiple ways to do something
Me: Starts playing Hamilton Friend: Can you play anything that's not Hamilton? Me: Starts playing Moana soundtrack Friend: Can you play anything that's not Lin Manuel Miranda
i wanted more exposure for Pua and i think it wouldve been amazing if they tackled more monsters in the realm of the underworld. id love to see more of the colorful bioluminescent underworld 😊
Amazing video! I liked most of those deleted scenes, but I'm rather happy of what they did in the end. Maybe it would have been fun to see more of the pig ;) Like for many movies, I wish they'd made it longer to have a larger adventure and see maybe more monsters that make us dream ^^ but oh well ;)
There was also a rejected plotline where Moana sailed across the sea to rescue a love interest, not save the world. There was also one where Moana and Maui were in love.
I actually think HeiHei the rooster is really funny and I'm glad that he made it into the movie! But it would be cool if Pua the pig got more screen time too
If there should be a sequel, it should point about how Maui became a demigod, and perhaps, Moana will discover that she, is a Goddess or a demigoddess.
Droid PlaysHD I would love that because I got the impression that instead of boyfriend and girlfriend the relationship between Moana and Maui is more like big brother and little sister and Maui reminds me so much of my own brother Scott
well it kinda depended, some parts didn't fit with the main story, and others were cut for time. honestly it depends on the people behind the scenes on what gets put in and what doesn't, and a lot of things need to be taken into consideration.
I LOVED all the ideas of the deleted scenes. I would think that it would make a amazing movie aslwell if they did the deleted scenes. And who else agrees with me that they should make a Moana 2 i would also love if they would have done the baby pig scene that would have been so cute :3
In moana in the credits the shiny crab dude is venting about the fact he isn't like when he says "i bet if I was a red lobster who was called Sebastian you would love me"
When I first watched the movie, i couldnt help but be both distracted and fascinated the entire time by the strangest thing, i dont know why..i just kept thinking about it. Probably because it looked so odd in a disney movie. Moana has flat feet. I noticed it straight away. Then i got thinking, that makes Moana the only disney character who has flat feet, so in doll format, she is the only one who does not wear heels..she is the only one who can stand up on her own two feet...weird huh? anyway that just fascinated me the whole way through, maybe thats why i like her so much. I was also disapointed the pig wasnt in it that much. Also something else has just occured to me, there is hardly any interaction, verbal or non verbal between the grandma and the parents, or any one else in the village. She claimed to be labelled as the village "crazy" lady, but we like..never see her in the village or anyone giving her looks. I found the land of monster place thingy to not be explained enough and i wish it was as well as the crab. And the first song didnt have enough build up and was a bit random. I wish there was more back story on the characters. My favourite part of my film was when the grandma came back as a sting ray and the ocean lights up. Also, the whole "demi god" thing has a lot of potential, a demi god can be given two definitions, one being a half human, half god child. But maui's parents are both human so? unless he doesnt know? although you can become a demi god after you die? so maybe maui drowned in the ocean when he was a baby and the gods brought him back which makes more sense in the imortal aspect. That was really long and confusing but thats just my thoughts on moana, i feel like the ending was also done so in a way so they can make a 2nd movie...who agrees?
Torie Paige I was distracted by her feet too. Not in that way though. >:) But seriously, why the fuck do you care about this chick's feet that much? Her wearing high heals wouldn't make any sense and wearing high heals is hard, it's not a symbol of weakness.
I have flat feet as well and I wear heels o3o But yeah, perhaps a symbolism thing there, but I'm not sure if it was intended or not. I was also saddened the pig was not in the movie as often as the trailers made it out to seem, but at least we got HeiHei right? Yeah? Anyone?! ;-; Moving on, you're right on the lack of evidence the grandmother and the other islanders, but most of Moana's growing up was through a song, where we did not get to see terribly much interaction in the first place. However, it was shown that the grandmother typically spent most, if not all, of her time at the beach dancing or wading in the water. Whereas most of the islanders stayed away from the ocean unless they needed to fish and even then they did not stray too far. I believe that was evidence as the grandmother "isolating" herself from the others, and the others leaving her well enough alone because she was "different" to them. I also wish they focused a bit more on the monsters, it would have been even more interesting of a movie ^^ Late and tired, not gonna reply to everything here (sorry, I mean no disrespect) but I am hoping for a second Moana!
I think I like the direction they ended up taking with the movie. I would have liked to see more of the underworld, but I'm hoping that gets explored in a sequel.
I was dissatisfied when tamatoa was done with in that part of the movie and now I know that he could have been a bigger character I am still dissatisfied but understand
I really like that they changed hei hei but they should make another movie of moana so moana goes back in time they should call the second movie Moana 2 back in time that would be so cool or they should just make another moana movie where her and Maui go on another adventure together
I think they were awesome! It was really cool to see all the deleted scenes! keep up the work on your channel! you've got a new subscriber! Now, the one deleted scenes movie I want is zootopia, unless you already made it
I wish they had spent more time in the Underworld. It was treated as a pitstop more than anything. Yes, the movie is basically a road(boat?) trip story, but the Underwrold was too in-and-out.
AR Shellnut and more Tamatoa screentime
AR Shellnut it would have made the movie the longest Disney movie but the song would have been amazing I don't think they would have bonded to early but Moana may have gained a bit more respect for him
I just have this thought.
moana's world is HUGE. the potential is limitless. they can easily make moana 2 with the world they set.
just let her save another thing goddess by having to go to the realm of monsters
Yeaah I wished that too!
I was a little disappointed that they left so fast and we couldn't get to see some other monsters
I'm glad Pua was left out, it avoided the cute sidekick trope and replaced it with the inept idiot sidekick. It adds comic relief and Alan Tudyk voicing a ridiculous rooster is brilliant.
Yes, Alan Tudyk is hilarious as Heihei, Rick! :-)
Rick Uppal I still would've liked it more if the pig went with them.
I don't like that they deleted 2 songs because I like the singing in moana.
ew regime same
Me to
Guys what do you mean??
Ugh thank god they didn't include NINE brothers
OMG Thats what i was thinking
I would have liked more info in the Moana's mother as she doesn't have much screen time in the film.
I love the idea of her having many siblings
I wish the little maui part was still there!😂
Sherbert Pony101 or in a different scene like maui almost drowns and revives little Maui haha
I have the exclusive movie and it still has the mini- Maui :D
I would love to see a "Moana 2" that includes "Warrior Face" - I love that song!
I would have liked to see the scene when toddler Moana almost drowns in the movie because it would give her father more of a reason to keep her away from the ocean.
I thought the same! I would have bought that reason more than the story that was actually left in the movie about the fathers past. =)
sarabeth1502 yea
but then people would be like
why did the ocean try to kill her if it loves her
but it would have been awesome
Fun Feeling I would just say the ocean was trying to play, but it got too rough with Moana
sarabeth1502 I would love to see the brothers be the damsel in distress people would complain but damn sense when is a man captured it's always the woman
Well that would be a traumatic experience for toddler Moana creating fear for the ocean instead of love
it would've been more intersting if the grandma and moana had more scenes. haha also curious about the rooster story too
Kaylene Ann Cachila vb
I love the concept of Maui having a goddess as a grandma and that she guards the underworld and I like that Ta Kai's name is different. I'm glad that Moana does not have 9 brothers as she wouldn't meet Maui. Love your videos!

Flicks And The City Yeah, also I entered your competition and the extra entry's :)

I wish they left the pig in the movie and left the deleted songs in they sound very interesting
You can still find the songs on spotify and youtube, in case you want to listen to them!
Deanna Foster I despised Hay Hay and was originally on board for Moana because the movie teased for her little pig companion. I was disappointed when he got nearly no screen time at all.
I also hoped Pua would have more screen time, but I don't mind Hei Hei that much. It provided some comic relief in an otherwise heavy setting.
Meep Lover what's so bad about Hei Hei?
tanner lawley I've just had my fill of Becky's and Gerald's man. (finding dory) I'm just.. mehhh. I originally jumped on board because I loved the fact that they were going to include Pua. I am the biggest fans of pigs as well so call me biased but pigs are #1. I can go on and on but just eh.
I'm happy they didn't stick with the time travel. That would have been WAY too confusing.
Life is confusing.

You're very welcome, Ann; glad you enjoyed it! :-)
how did u know da deleted scene
GamingBoy UA-cam It's all in the book she mentioned in he beginning.

micanikko yeah, one minute they're just sailing, then a giant lava monster comes out of nowhere
I believe a few movies followed by a tv series would do "Moana" justice. From what I have seen, Polynesian culture and it's people, aren't covered in depth in cinema. Wether it be on the big screen or small screen, I haven't seen it.

Do you think the girl volcano in the pixar short "lava" somehow is a lot like te fiti (if that's how you spell it)
Luke Arters i dont to spoiler but she is tefiti
Luke Arters it's tefiti
Shwupdado Op she's not. The two volcanoes together make up the island where Moana lives in the start.
Jennifer almengor what the hell? That's not what im fucking talking about dumbass
Actually, it's Te whiti, take it from a Polynesian girl :P

in the movie I saw Sven from Frozen when Maui is changing after he gets his hook back
Anime Hamilton Didn't we all..
Omg really
Everyone did
Lol i did too. Great easter egg😂
I saw also saw flounder when Maui was singing your welcome, and wreck it Ralph at the end of the credits. Did you guys see them too?
I think the movie would've been a classic Disney movie if it had some of these scenes n stuff
I agree. Some of these scenes would have made it into an epic adventure. The movie is fine as it is.... but not all that exciting.
Summer Latimer yea i mean it's pretty good but it would've been more memorable
The fact that Disney artists have been thinking about putting the little piggy 🐷 on the boat with Moana makes sense since she is on the boat with Moana and Maui on the official movie poster.

The book is for sale on the Philippines.

I mean for crying out loud, how often have we seen "dumb side character who may as well not even be there"?
I don't know, I like Heihei. (and no, I'm not a toddler)
- Pig should have been in it more
- Maoi's grandmother really should have made an appearance
- Wish they'd included more monsters on the journey to make that little trip to the underworld seem less out of place
I wish the deleted scenes made it in the movie
A very long movie tho

I love how everyone pronounces Moana's name differently. Beautiful film though.😊
Not gonna lie, I think Pua would have been a much better sidekick than Hei Hei. Even having both on the boat would have been fun!
Chelsea Alsum same
Chelsea Alsum they removed him from the journey, because he make her journey easier.
j marine but how Hei Hei is so dumb and is close to death everyday, and Mona had to watch over him
gamer girl exactly the point. the pig was 2 useful.
for all those who say Hei Hei is dumbass , he actually saved moana , when the heart ( the green rock thing)
allmost fell off the edge once , hei hei saved it and he saved the movie .
wow there were so many changes! But i'm happy they changed Hei Hei, He's my second favorite character after moana.
My fave character is the crab tamatoa (probably spelt that wrong ) i just think he's relatable
Kimberly Gomez Ikr?I'd rather have funny moments with Hei Hei than cute moments with Pua the pig.
Kelly Staples me too at the end of the movie he's still on his back and says this to the audience, "if my name was Sebastian with a Jamaican accent you would help me, you know you would!" I think he says something like that.
I thought his antics were a little much after a while, but it was a nice change from the usual "helpful animal side kick" that we usually see
Kimberly Gomez idk

Yeeeeeeeeeeesss hay hay is a terrible character
you all need to chill about how she pronounced Moana, it's her accent
Thank you, I didn't think it was that different to be honest. I've heard people pronounce Moana dozens of different ways!
Flicks And The City I'm British and it's hard to say taco, Anna moana, quorn and bro ._.
I'm British and I don't get how you find those hard? I say them like so:
Tah-co
Ah-na Mo-ah-na
K-worn
b-row (Say row as in rowing a boat but with a b)
Anonymous Candle well there's a large range of accents in Britain and habits of how to pronounce words vary. I've heard a lot of people with a British accent kind of add an 'r' sound to words ending in 'a'
zippety zoop
An r sound? Cant say I've ever come across that but depending on how i say some words, take Moana for example, i can sort of hear it? Though it's more of a drawn out a, though i can see why some people might mistake it for an r
I would have loved to see the time traveling Moana
I love all the rejected songs "Unstoppable" is beautiful but "More" and its reprise makes me cry it's so good! Lin is amazing
He absolutely is! :-)
I love that the creators made a book all about that scenes that were cut and stuff it lets us know where they were going with the original storyline and how it ended up the way it is, and it inspires people that there are multiple ways to do something

The baby scene with the water was one of my favorites it would have been so different if they changed it from a happy one to her almost drowning
I wish the 🐷 was in the entire movie.
Jackie Gonzalez Ikr the pig is adorable
Jackie Gonzalez I hope there will be more moments with him in the sequel if there is any!
Jackie Gonzalez Yeah, but you got to admit the chicken was hilariously cute in the movie 😂😂😂

Flicks And The City ikr THEY FREAKIN SELL PUA SLIPPERS IN THE DISNEY SHOP AND HES ON THE STUPID SCREEN FOR TEN SECONDS OUT OF NEARLY TWO FRIKIN HOURS

Amazing video!
I liked most of those deleted scenes, but I'm rather happy of what they did in the end. Maybe it would have been fun to see more of the pig ;)
Like for many movies, I wish they'd made it longer to have a larger adventure and see maybe more monsters that make us dream ^^ but oh well ;)
Hai Hai was like a big highlight to the movie. I loved him.

I would of like to hear the deleted songs
There was also a rejected plotline where Moana sailed across the sea to rescue a love interest, not save the world. There was also one where Moana and Maui were in love.
I actually think HeiHei the rooster is really funny and I'm glad that he made it into the movie! But it would be cool if Pua the pig got more screen time too
If they make a sequel, they should include some of the original concepts.

why did they get rid of these. Some of them are good
I would love to have heard the lost Maui song 😭

I can't believe Moana was going to have 9 or 6 brother's and that there are so many deleted scenes

Manjula Karanth yes yes I did he’s a great singer
it would have been funny to have Maui doing mouth to mouth on mini Maui in the real movie
Wow... Time traveling Moana? Very interesting! It was interesting how they cut Pua... that shouldn't have been so :/
Yes, that certainly would have been a whole different spin on things! :-)
Would have loved to see more of Pua!
Jade Ayla YEAAAAA
wow I didnt know any of this
I love your channel!
This is one of my favorite movie ever!!
Love it too, Abigail! :-)
Abigail Smith do u know Hannah?
Hannah Fidelholtz what? Lol. I guess i should say who?
But seriously, why the fuck do you care about this chick's feet that much? Her wearing high heals wouldn't make any sense and wearing high heals is hard, it's not a symbol of weakness.
Torie Paige pokahuntass has flat feet to so it isn't only moana
I also wish they focused a bit more on the monsters, it would have been even more interesting of a movie ^^
Late and tired, not gonna reply to everything here (sorry, I mean no disrespect) but I am hoping for a second Moana!
I'm fine with the first movie. Adding a sequel would not only be unecessary, but wouldn't be that good as far as storytelling goes
Torie Paige agreed
At 9:25 you can spot Baymax well just the face.
DreamKiller 33 ye I can
DreamKiller 33 yea a youtuber told me that too
Chloe Hawkins same
I think I like the direction they ended up taking with the movie. I would have liked to see more of the underworld, but I'm hoping that gets explored in a sequel.
I love moana 🙂😍
I was dissatisfied when tamatoa was done with in that part of the movie and now I know that he could have been a bigger character I am still dissatisfied but understand
I really like that they changed hei hei but they should make another movie of moana so moana goes back in time they should call the second movie Moana 2 back in time that would be so cool or they should just make another moana movie where her and Maui go on another adventure together
I think they were awesome! It was really cool to see all the deleted scenes! keep up the work on your channel! you've got a new subscriber! Now, the one deleted scenes movie I want is zootopia, unless you already made it
Moana: well teach me how to fish
Maui: (snorts) seriously?
Moana: yes
Heihe and Pua should aa ghave bothwent on the journey and became animal buddies
I wish the changes where still in here
Ooooh awesome video!!👏🏻😄
fun fact: maui's hook Is made out of his grandmother's bones.
I think she's part of the moana makers so yeah I guess
These are soooo cool
Wow! The timetraveling Moana sounded super awesome! It caught me as a big suprise.
