I’m always interested in your videos, from arcane measuring to fishing adventures. Ramble away! Many people’s fully prepared lectures aren’t as good as your off-the-cuff ones.
Quality is great, staggeringly good really. In the same way that it's easier to ignore info you have than invent stuff you wish you had, these stream of consciousness captures beat the heck out of something you didn't get to because of the hassle of the full 'studio' versions you now feel you need to make. Thanks as always.
Brian, before building an F1 and the CF Canoe, I built a SOF Greenland from the Morris book using anthropometric measurements. It’s a great paddle. It would be interesting to compare survey data to your LPB.
That was a really well executed presentation. I've been wanting to take an out of production composite boat that I own and reproduce it with a marine ply doorskin veneer core. However, curves tend to be more challenging than chines. Interesting to hear that you're considering fuselage design. More builders means more paddlers means more stewards. If lighting and sound were cause for not doing anything, most people would never get out of first grade. The message and information came across well.
I enjoyed this video too - thank you for shooting and posting it. One question: how would you measure the positions of the ribs of a skin boat? That would seem to be a bit tricky with the skin on!
I'm always wondering about your F1, if it could be translated to stitch and glue panel construction. Because, y'know, bulkheads. Has anyone ever tried it, or is it even something you would be ok with?
I’m really not sure. I think someone tried it a while ago and told me that the panels couldn’t handle the twisting of the planes. But I doubt that they did a precise survey like this. And also it’s possible that the design could be changed to work with that technology and still perform the same, but I’m just not sure.
hey I wanted to ask if I could use nylon canvas instead of ballistic nylon or dacron. Both are expensive and hard to find. Really need an answer would appreciate it

I enjoyed it. I learned some details I didn’t understand in the past. Thank you.
Super interesting! ...and very clever! Thanks! 🙂
