    watched the video to the end, an interesting idea to use the cultivator to the tractor

    A power steering pump and a steering assist hydraulic cylinder from a larger truck would give you all the lifting power for the 3 point hitch.

    Great idea, just need a bigger motor on the tiller. I have a semi-homemade tractor that I may do this with.

      Thanks! Yeah. A bigger motor would make it much better. I'm playing around turning it around so it faces forward and with better height adjustment. I was thinking I could do it in 2 passes, shallow then deep, but now you got me thinking...

      @@jessealt5415 Yeah but the reverse rotation sure makes it do great. The cheapest way I have found to get used motors is to buy old lawnmowers. I have gotten them for as little as 50 bucks when something other than the motor went bad.

    Jesse, it would be nice to have electric start on that tiller, but when is relying on their budget, the wife also has concerns.

    My plans to start on my tractor seem to be on the back burner. Due to some unknown health problems, so I've had to wait. I've also had to relocate, and that took me 22 miles east of Lancaster. I'm in Chester County now, not far from Gap and route 41.

      Are you keeping your workshop or does that have to move too?

    A bigger engine would help. You cud build you a tiller if you can fine 2 old rear tine tillers you can make them so they are side by side then a good size engine with electric start I'd have them from the tillers to the engine chan drive it last longer then belts would I hope I have gave you a good idea👍

    Your tiller is being used the wrong way that’s why the tiller is made to go forward with its tines if you spin the tiller around your tiller would not stall and the soil with not bunch up ahead of it put your tractor in low gear and take your time with the tiller in the opposite direction try it with the tractor in reverse first and see the difference

    • @jessealt5415
      @jessealt5415  Рік тому +1

      Hmmm. I didn't think about that. Rear tine tillers spin in reverse so I figured it was OK. I will try it in reverse. Just a few weeks until it's time. Thanks Justin!

    A question did you reverse the tines where the cutting ends dig

    • @jessealt5415
      @jessealt5415  3 місяці тому

      I did not reverse the tines, but it does dig in pretty good. I want to try mounting the tiller forward facing for this year, but I only have a week or 2 at most before planting.

    so to the tiller running backwards but seems fine i thought it should be turned around?

    • @jessealt5415
      @jessealt5415  9 місяців тому +1

      It would might work better turned around, but the fabrication was much easier this way and it works. I think it does a more thorough job this way because any large clumps it throws out get run over again. On the downside, it builds up a wall of dirt that limits how deep it can till without running out of power.
