Can I just tell you, you are so beautiful and I really appreciate you being a wholesome person inside and out. You don't add any frills and go over the top with your makeup and clothing to make a video. You just come on as your lovely self, who you truly are, and I am so thankful for that. Thank you for being real in a world of fakeness, it's admired and appreciated. ❤
You got some amazing plants! I loved the video! If I could make a suggestion ... don't apologize for how much money you spent. There's no need to, or to justify it. You bought these with your own money... now enjoy!
My black Friday splurge (I made 2 orders) Varigated pink dragon, pink Varigated bambino, pink Varigated black velvet, microzia splash (can't remember spelling), Lightly varigated longiloba, purple longiloba and Red Crystalinum.. That's it. I felt rather sick and disgusted with myself but secretly rather happy at the same time. The plants are tiny though so all acclimating in prop box. I justified them being small. Work and life has been rather hellish.so I think I deserved it. Usually I'm rather reserved and level headed. This is the most I've spent in one go like ever... I am so impressed with your burle marx flame and especially the spirito sancti. Bravo, very nice plants. Happy Xmas!
The plants look gorgeous! Anyone who's had an eye on those plants knows how great of a deal you got on these plants; I'm glad you were able to get them so large and healthy and for such great prices!🌱
I miss ordering plants online so much!!! Its hitting -30s overnight where I am, and -20s during the day, Im not even going to try that level of cold would for sure kill them :( Thank you for giving me my online plant shopping fix!!!
There’s nothing wrong with splurging on yourself every once in a while I don’t like to splurge either but I will if it’s something i’ve wanted for a long time
Bloody love your clips you are regularly on in my living room whilst I do stuff with my house plants. You also make me laugh because of your ADHD obsessions (I’m undiagnosed but am sure I’m similar). I have no focus on housework too, I just want to look at and play with house plants. Thank you Clare/Claire. Glen x
Seeing Downtown Plant Club through a Plant event youtube video gave me a bit of an incentive to buy from them and being that I"m closer to the company since I live in Germany, I also made my first purchase for black friday. I bought two anthuriums that are hybrids for great prices and my experience was also amazing!! i can't wait till they restock some of the other plants cause i'll definitely buy with them again.
So perfect timing to buy gifts for yourself! I participated in an online auction last night in Bedford, New Hampshire (US) and managed to get three plant beauties including one that we share a love for...a 45-inch tall Euphorbia Lactea White Ghost! I also won a stunningly colorful Orange Marmalade Philodendron and a huge Lil Phil Philodendron that is almost 4 feet in diameter! Wish there was a way to post photos here. All from Frizzhomes Gardens, a cool little place here in southern NH.
Omg!!! Amazing!! I literally just bought the Burle Marx flame, and the Fl var. banana myself but mine were tc, but either way we can compare the progress!!! You def deserve your splurge! Enjoy!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!
Beautiful purchases!! I hope they adjust well for you. Got myself a 3 tier plant stand for my prayer plants & treated myself to a both a neon & pearls & jade pothos. Keeping it simple...for now 😂
Loooove the plants! I didn't know Downtown Plant Club and I'm from the Netherlands 😂 So I will def be checking them out 👀 Can't wait to see your plants grow! 💚
I also bought from them this Black Friday, and got my Philodendron Spiritus Sancti too, and I'm so happy with it ❤ I got mine as a younger plant, and it's looking fantastic, and nice roots! I'm really happy I'm not the only one happy with their purchase 😊😊
MERRY CHRISTMAS, Claire ,its a beautiful baby.Im very happy you got yourself a present you love.I hope it does well.I know it will as you have v excellent planty skills which I envy.Thank you for a wonderful video and sharing.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I treated my self to a 5’ Norfolk pine tree for my birthday (which was a bit of a pic me up after the us elections). I decorated it and it is my Xmas tree! so pretty!!
They look gorgeous 😍 I did manage to resist their black Friday sale 😂 I have ordered from them before and it's been fabulous. Usually I get their order delivered within 2-3 days here in Scotland. So the delays were definitely because of the black Friday 😅 💚
I was caught by the black friday sale too... Got a cactus I really really wanted and that wasn't available in my country from an Italian nursery. It is looking good so far! And you've got amazing plants for bargain prices. Really looking forward to updates on these!
Gorgeous plants and so so fun! I gave in and took advantage of a black Friday sale too, got 6 new hoyas coming my way and I cannot wait!! Hoya Mathilde, Polyneura, Memoria, Krohniana Black, Lacunosa Silver ‘Long Leaves’, Callistophylla, so excited but I definitely have a plant problem lol
Watching this unboxing was crazy to me because I received these exact same plants in tissue culture just last week! Looks like we're on the same page in terms of gifting ourselves this holiday season!
Hi Claire, I have brought about 20 plants this month already to add to my already over 150 plant collection! The struggle is real and I'm still thinking about next month haul! I'm most excited about my burle marx flame tissue culture and sarian seedling 😊 x
@TheJungleHaven It's not bad! I still have a wishlist of rare plants which I keep adding more to, I keep thinking I will clear it and not buy anymore 😬😇. Grow tropicals is my go to, I'm currently waiting for Crystal hope to come back in stock, I adore this plant and its beautiful ruffled-like leaves 😊
I bought myself a Burle Marx Flame a couple months ago, for $88 (compared to the like $300+ it is here, even baby TC are like $125) and it was a big guy! I felt so lucky. I look forward to seeing you grow it!
I've ordered 11 plants in two days on black friday week. I've got two paraiso verdes, a monstera albo, a baby anthurium warocqueanum, baby philo snowdift, baby ring of fire, baby silver sword, baby mamei and a few babys too young to identify. 6 of the babys were in a sustainability box
I have struggled with growing Musa Florida in the UK for years haha I lost my previous 3, but luckily my current one is doing a lot better, though it's losing leaves now in the winter. It really does need warm temps and a lot of water, so get it into pon or leca asap and it will thank you!
I had such a giant smile when you opened the PSS!! Jealous and may have to peak into shipping to Canada lol 😝 Merry Christmas to you and thanks for the video. Take care of the new babies…giant babies 😉my newest are marble queen pothos going on a moss pole, a little ficus elastica tineke both 5.99 and a dieffenbachia panther, has about a dozen stalks and is about 3 foot tall and wide for 39.99 all at a Canadian Tire.
Would love to see you do an update on the Musa in the future! Mine is looking a little sad but I got a Black Friday deal on a Soltech grow light so hopefully that’ll help perk her up!
Great haul, Claire! In March of this year, I purchased a cutting of a Burle Marx Flame and I paid $130 USD for it and I didn’t think twice. I was at a small plant show and the seller only had 3 cuttings so I had to think fast and I grabbed one. I bought my daughter a Spiritus S. this year for her birthday so yeah, I dropped some $$🤑!! Those were great prices and I would’ve done the same. Keep us posted on their progress!! You got some beautiful plants!!
I live in the Netherlands and I've ordered from them quite a few times now. Overall a very good experience! I do always switch out the soil the plants come in, because it retains too much water for my house. Also their Anthurium seeds are amazing. They send you at least two sprouted seeds (with already growing leaves). I haven't lost a baby plant, they grow amazingly, and I now have at least two plants of some really nice hybrids!
I also treated myself to a variegated Florida Musa on Black Friday. My local rare plant shop had two in stock for $53 each, and I bought one immediately. I'd been looking for one for about a year now and I'd never seen such a good price.
Yeah, Downtown Plant Club is indeed a webshop from the Netherlands. I ordered from them before and their plants and prices are great! I'm very curious as to how they'll do the coming weeks. I want to buy myself a big Anthurium Warocquanum but I am scared to have it shipped with this winter cold weather 😬
POLAND , bardzo ci gratuluję tych pięknych roślin, Spiritus Sancti też jest na mojej liście , ale czekam aż będzie jeszcze tańszy , życzę ci żeby roślinki ładnie rosły.....Małgorzata
Someone was Green Week online shopping 😊 And I can confirm Downtown Plant Club takes great care when shipping plants, I also got a free heat pack for my Musa Nono 💚
Spiritu Sancti is on my list since I started my plant journey. But it's not only very rare and extremely expensive here in Russia, but it's also such a big plant. Like if I get one, I'd probably have to give up at least 3-5 other plants to make space for it...
Due to watching you (and a few others on you tube) from Canada and turning the east end of our small apartment into even more of a jungle there was no room from either cut Christmas tree or artificial this year, so I opted again for a small Norfolk pine plant :) I keep loosing them after Christmas so determined to have it for the rest of my lifetime in our jungle this time lol. This was my happy plant purchase!! I am struggling with my one cat palm and lost two of three alocasia cuttings, a pickle plant and a cactus recently :(
The Spiritus sancti looks sooo nice, had mine as a baby plant a year ago and it starts to get some really nice long leaves. This christmas I treated myself with a beautiful philodendron whipple way (smooth pastel colours) and a baby ilsemanii with great variegation, it will be total fun to find out how they work 🥰
I love musa 😍 they are sooo easy to grow and they grow extremely fast 😍 I found that mine likes my forest floor mix regarding the soil: it’s 3 parts coco coir, 1 part bark, 1 part pumice and 1 part worm casting ☺️ like my Calathea, it always wants to be damp
Plants make the BEST gifts! Even if it's from yourself ☺️ I bought my mom a monstera from a local little boutique store, and well... I bought myself a philodendron silver sword. Merry Christmas Claire!
Oh Claire they are gorgeous everything crossed they all do well after travelling, you really shouldn’t feel you have to justify buying them after all apart from being a passionate hobby it’s also your work 🥰 now off to do some browsing only…honest 😂😂
lol you’re gonna need a bigger place!!! Yea the burle marx flame definitely isn’t readily available in Canada either for less than 100$, they don’t think price will change anytime soon cause it grows so very slowly, but it’s definitely on my list too, the planty gods def threw love your way at 42 pounds!!! I’ve struggled with my musas as well Had to look it up! 1 pound is 1 quid right? They the same thing just nicknames? I’ve never been fully attracted to the spiritus sancti other than for its rareness and wanting to keep it from extinction, I definitely wouldn’t say no though, you’ve been blessed Claire ♥️ reminds me of a Philo Billie crossed with an anthurium Vittarifolium sorta eh? Let us know how they do!
@TheJungleHaven I'm looking at one in a online shop here in canada for 45$, which is nothing for the sancti. I so want to order it but at the same time I'm highly suspicious that it is not a real one... it's also a tiny baby, but you know...
@@lesfibresfantastiques7265 Yeah I'm always nervy when I order from a new place... Personally I'd do lots of research, maybe look on IG and see if other people have had good experiences?
I love the variegated banana but I'm almost certain would be a pain in the ass in my desert climate. As you can see it's my avatar picture instead lol.
I have two orders on the way. One order is a dischidia ovata and a Hoya DS-70?... The second order is a Hoya Bai bua, Hoya GPS 7240, Hoya Clemensiorum, and a freebie💚💚💚 can you tell that I have a type? Lol all of your plants are beautiful 💙💙
Congrats on your new plants! I keep my fingers crossed for no damage!🤞 Do you or somebody have some tipps on how to find different plantshops online? (other then the sponsored or usual ones) 🧐🌱
I read reviews like crazy and take tips and advice from others experiences. I've had a few here or there that have been a bit dodgy, but on the whole, I've rarely had terrible experiences ordering online
I didn't really get anything for Black Friday, but there is a plant nursery about 15 mins from my house that breeds anthuriums and I have just been steadily buying them since June. They had a 50% sale a few weeks ago, so -- of course -- I bought two. I keep telling myself that I have enough now and need to stop. And then another week or two passes and I've bought another one. 😳
I've had some great plants and some not so great plants from DTPC - some of their rare anthurium seeds turned out not to be the actual plants advertised, which has happened to quite a few people, but that was a while ago. I also got a half dead Papi which I saved and is now huge and gorgeous. Most of my other plants from them did great. I haven't ordered for a while so not sure if it's still the case but their shipping was always a little dodgy - they listed the plants as 'plastic pots' on the shipping invoice rather than declare them. I haven't bought from them for a while due to that because I was told it can get the buyer in trouble with customs, so curious to know if they now list the plants on the shipping form on the parcel?
That's interesting, I did notice they labelled mine as "plastic pots" on the invoice too... I assumed this was because lots of couriers don't cover damages on live plants, but I could be wrong about this. Also interesting what you said about the Anthurium seeds, I guess that's the risk when you can't see the actual plant. Thanks for the insight.
Hi Claire! I want to thank you for all of your fantastic videos. I love watching them! I have found alocasias to be my favorites. I have them all in pon with a little reservoir and about 50% humidity. But I struggle a lot with guttation. Thats not good for my wooden floor. Do you got any tips? Do you got the same problem? Greetings from Sweden! 🌷🌿❤
I have to say I've found the same thing with my wooden floors. I've had to sand back and re-varnish a couple of areas where my drippy ones are. Alocasia is really bad for this, so the only thing I can really recommend is putting them somewhere where they've got a mat underneath them, or keeping them in a cabinet environment. It's just how the plant works annoyingly!
I had to leave my e-mailadres to enter their website for the Black Friday sale. I got up early but they never send me the code to enter the website. I thought it was a scam lol. I mean those 90% discounts seem too good to be true.
I'm on a self-imposed plant ban but that M. Burle Marx "Flame" is going to end up in my collection in the New Year. 😍 Have a great Winter Solstice Claire, Ross & Yoli. 🙋🌲🪴🌵
Can I just tell you, you are so beautiful and I really appreciate you being a wholesome person inside and out. lol Claire: “it’s a plant I’ve wanted for years and years and years…” lmao 😂 legit like every other plant 🤣💚🪴
You got some amazing plants! I loved the video! If I could make a suggestion ... don't apologize for how much money you spent. There's no need to, or to justify it. You bought these with your own money... now enjoy!

Don't worry girl those Black Friday plant sales got me too!! 🤣

Oooh yeah that's cold for plant shipping. I'm sure it'll be even more worth it when you're able to have a little shop again
There’s nothing wrong with splurging on yourself every once in a while I don’t like to splurge either but I will if it’s something i’ve wanted for a long time
You'll love watching the spiritus sancti grow, I splurged on one this year and it's been amazing watching the leaves mature and get bigger lobes ❤
I actually can't wait!
Claire, you should really look up the begonia breakdance. Its a bit weird but beautiful. I really think you will love it!
I looked this up this morning after seeing your comment. It's like a firework, it's amazing!
Glen x
I bought 13 new Nepenthes 😱 yes, it's an addiction. I'm blessed that the care is very similar for all of them so I should be fine, but still, eek!
Ahhhh wow what kind of Nepenthes!?
I’ve done 2 orders from Downtown Plant Club this year and both have been fantastic - not a bad thing to say about them! ❤
I think their prices were very reasonable. I wish they were in the U.S.!
Omg.. that Spiritus .. ❤
I'm glad you got some awesome plants. Those anthurium hybrids were incredibly tempting!
So perfect timing to buy gifts for yourself! I also won a stunningly colorful Orange Marmalade Philodendron and a huge Lil Phil Philodendron that is almost 4 feet in diameter! Wish there was a way to post photos here. Those are some great plants! Online plant auction sounds great / very dangerous!!
That is a very good price for a BMF of that size! Love it!
Happy to hear you like your plants Claire!
Omg!!!
Keeping it simple...for now 😂
I bet that looks gorgeous! Epipremnum is my FAVE - I want more!
Just like most of us for Christmas, you seemed most excited over the cheapest item.❤ 😂😂😂
MERRY CHRISTMAS, Claire ,its a beautiful baby.Im very happy you got yourself a present you love.I hope it does well.I know it will as you have v excellent planty skills which I envy.Thank you for a wonderful video and sharing.❤❤❤❤❤❤
And yes you got such a great deal on those plants.
Wow 2 of the best plants, the sancti is gorgeous, lucky you!!!
I treated my self to a 5’ Norfolk pine tree for my birthday (which was a bit of a pic me up after the us elections). I decorated it and it is my Xmas tree! so pretty!!
Are you American or one of those Europeans who is obsessed with us?
They look gorgeous 😍 I did manage to resist their black Friday sale 😂 I have ordered from them before and it's been fabulous. Usually I get their order delivered within 2-3 days here in Scotland. So the delays were definitely because of the black Friday 😅 💚
I was caught by the black friday sale too... Got a cactus I really really wanted and that wasn't available in my country from an Italian nursery. It is looking good so far! And you've got amazing plants for bargain prices. Really looking forward to updates on these!
That spiritus sancti! WOW!
Congrats on the new plants! They are beautiful. ❤
I’m a new plant mom(less than 1 year where I’m probably acquiring too many for such a new mom) and alocasia is my FAVORITE!
Claire they are so beautiful 😍 and they looks so healthy
Gorgeous plants and so so fun! I gave in and took advantage of a black Friday sale too, got 6 new hoyas coming my way and I cannot wait!! Hoya Mathilde, Polyneura, Memoria, Krohniana Black, Lacunosa Silver ‘Long Leaves’, Callistophylla, so excited but I definitely have a plant problem lol
I can’t wait to hear how they are doing! Great video and beautiful plants
Watching this unboxing was crazy to me because I received these exact same plants in tissue culture just last week!
Looks like we're on the same page in terms of gifting ourselves this holiday season!
Oh wow what a coincidence! Great minds, eh!?
Thanks to your videos I bought an alocasia Jacklyn, a euphorbia and TWO antharium's... Might have gone a bit wild for black Friday but so worth it!
That looks like a great price, please keep us posted on all those new plant babies x ❤thank you
Those are all such beautiful plants Claire ❤️
I'm so THRILLED with them!
I also watch Roos from the Netherlands and it seems they take good care of their plants there, and yes alot of them are much cheaper than in the US.

They also had Musa Nonos so I brought that home as well. It seems like it is similar to the Florida Variegated but gets pink coloration as well.
I've seen the Nonos pop up recently too! I'm typically a fan of white variegation over pink personally. Glad you bagged a great plant in the sales!
Ooo gorgeous I totally went crazy and bought a burl Marx flame as love the way it looks most expensive plant I ever bought but I do love it x
Yeah, Downtown Plant Club is indeed a webshop from the Netherlands. I ordered from them before and their plants and prices are great!

Merry Christmas Claire!
Stunning plants! I just got myself a birthday plant, it was a 10” Thai Con for $50!
Wow what a bargain!
Oh wow that is a big beautiful Spiritus! 🤩
Wow nice plant haul 😮. Haha yep, ordered two variegated alocasias, hopefully not a bad decision. 😅
Nice unboxing 💚😍
Eeeeeee.. fabulous Sweety. I'm jelly 😊
Beautiful plants! Great choices. Keep us posted on how they do. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞
Haha I've also recently bought from this company for the first time and really loving my new babies ❤ The plants are stunning!
good fun stuff, glad to see you happy!

love them all. Is it possible to do an update video to see how these plants are doing.
Spiritus sancti for 50! What a catch!
I know right!?
@TheJungleHaven I'm looking at one in a online shop here in canada for 45$, which is nothing for the sancti. I so want to order it but at the same time I'm highly suspicious that it is not a real one... it's also a tiny baby, but you know...

Exciting! Let’s go!
I love the variegated banana but I'm almost certain would be a pain in the ass in my desert climate. As you can see it's my avatar picture instead lol.
Thanks for the link! I just ordered 3 plants! hahahahaha
Holy crap, I wish we could get a burl Marx flame, that size, for $53.00 US dollars. That would cost at least 117 pounds here in the states.
Congrats on your new plants! I keep my fingers crossed for no damage!🤞 Do you or somebody have some tipps on how to find different plantshops online? (other then the sponsored or usual ones) 🧐🌱
Are u in the uk? Or the states?
@HeatherTurner-f7r Germany!😅
50% off sale on plants is amazing. How could you not!?
@TheJungleHaven Thanks! Have a nice day! 🪴
I ordered a var. musa on Black Friday, too!!! 🍌 🍌 🍌 🍌 it just shipped, so I'll be seeing mine soon 👀 I hope it looks as good as yours ❤
Plants in the UK are so much more expensive than in germany. 100 pound for a burle marx cutting???
At the beginning of this year you'd have been looking at £3-400 at least! It's crazy how prices differ
I had to leave my e-mailadres to enter their website for the Black Friday sale. I got up early but they never send me the code to enter the website. I thought it was a scam lol. I mean those 90% discounts seem too good to be true.
I get myself presents
So you should!
I was doing such a good job at not buying any then woooopsy 😅
#algorithmcomment ❤
Hehehe ooops!
I'm on a self-imposed plant ban but that M. Burle Marx "Flame" is going to end up in my collection in the New Year. 😍 Have a great Winter Solstice Claire, Ross & Yoli. 🙋🌲🪴🌵
I bought a pink black velvet alocasia and variegated dragon scale alocasia🥹
