I was thinking the same thing, and I assume it's the voice. I pictured them all hanging out and he busts out that voice goofing around, then the lightbulb goes off for the idea for the skit.
This is one of my favourite board game videos ever! Hilarious! Awesome content, as usual. I had fun playing along and put my answers below. 1. Win (I play mostly solo) 2. Solo (see previous) 3. The Mico (Shem Phillips and Sam Macdonald have become my favourite design duo) 4. Remember every single rule. I enjoy the cleanup. 5. Twilight Imperium 6. Box fart 7. Never play trick-taking 8. One full day of social deduction 9. Stand. This ends up happening most of the time, anyway. 11. Never play a new game. I can't imagine never playing some of my favourites again. And I play most of my games 10-20 times. 12. Combo a wombo 13. Subscribe!
Another fun and incredibly entertaining video with the perfect introduction to Jimmy. His interrogator character was on point! Loved watching Mike and Nick trying to keep it together. Keep ‘em coming!
❤This was so new and cool. The set, lighting and switchboard for the cameras so good. Did I mention the audio??? Man… dark background with the lighting and clean audio… Chef CHEF’S kiss ❤
These are great quandaries for boardgamers lol! edit: Package these questions in a box and sell it! I bet gamers will buy it. "Would You Rather: Boardgame Edition."
I did intend question 11 to be only games you had played, not all previously released games. Loved the video, keep up the good work! Also, very impressed with the correct pronunciation.
This was awesome! I'm just glad the two of you chose opposite answers on the first one, because otherwise you'd only ever be able to play co-ops with each other.
Oh my word! I can't even!!! XD No way I can pick fave moment, between picturing Cascadia with stick trees, the brave confession about preschool artwork (which your daughter will never let you live down once she is old enough to surf youtube and finds this video!!!), the thought that ya'll are not that much younger than me ('cause your mind immediately goes to back pain with standing), and the hilarity of box farts....wow. Just WOW. Nobody should miss out on this episode!!!!! ROFL
Nothing feels better than taking a turn so long in Darwin's Journey that every one else's grumbling gets louder and louder with each "...which then lets me..."
The remembering rules vs instant clean up seems like a controversial answer, but why does it matter if you know all the rules if you still gotta explain them to the rest of the table. Clean up speed for sureeee
It takes real talent to ask questions that are so bad that you come up with 20 and none of them make the cut - like you're so weird that it's almost a super power.
not sure what the machine is called - where you walk on a long ski-like (rotating thingies.. not just a stepper ) - you could watch tv, or play games on tablet i suppose .. while working out, and the workout is keen on joints
Cut-n-paste from board game geek: Not sure if there's a proper name for this type of game, but I'm looking for a list of games in which there are several tracks that are bumped up or down during the game. For example, Terraforming Mars and Sky Mines. I love both of these games and I'm looking for more similar goodness. Anyone know of a list for this type of game?
I absolutely love this video already (and I'm only 2 minutes in). #1 Lose, I'm mostly there anyways XP #2 Solo, there are so many games that would suffer so much at one over count #3 I'm not so on top of artists so I'll just say The Micho, at least we get to keep most of Garphil's games #4 Easy as hell the remembring of all rules - I'd miss the satisfaction of putting everything in it's place back in the box #5 The Quest for El Dorado, mostly because then I'd have Knizia's mind and be set to be creating board games forever #6 Box fart, they're both bad, but sticky cards is one of the worst things for me. #7 Press your luck, I prefer trick taking but both are good #8 Social Deduction for me, I don't think I'd like it, but you can't take the good art from Spirit Island #9 I'll take the standing, I'd have to find a high table to play on, but at least I'm not destroying every single game I touch #10 Tough, though I'd choose Horrified, I'm not going to mess with horses of zombies #11 Never play a new game, I've got some favourites I'd hate to never play again and have played enough different games before that I've got choices #12 Combo Combo all the way! #13 Like - I'm already subscribed This was a FANTASTIC video, loved Jimmy in it and the questions.
Right, so now we need to figure out how might we hear this on your This Game Is Broken podcast? It's too good. Also, "have every card you touch feel just a little bit sticky" or eternal Cheetos fingers?! Eww! These should both come with a trigger warning. 😄
For which board game I would have wanted to be the designer, I’m going wingspan! Changed the industry and was a game that brought sooooo many people into the hobby (including myself)
Hey Jimmy! Thanks for the fun video! David and I enjoyed it! Great challenging choices. I pray I will NEVER have to pick the lesser of two terrible options in real life!!
I feel like the only play games solo vs only play at max + 1 players is way too brutal on the max player side. It would still be a tough choice if it was simply solo vs Max player count. No one should have to only play Caverna with 7! If you only ever have 3 players you probably never playing a board game because there are so few games that have Max of 3 players 😂
Cool! Funny video. The voice was wrecking me haha I figured it would be trick taking but man it’s not board game related but I was hoping to hear about the LOTR one haha
I don't know about Nick, but Mike is a legit actor. I think they both understood the assignment on this one and nailed it. They only used the interrogation as a funny framework for the questions.
Nick trying to hold it together the entire time 😂
Psh and I succeeded...
Whoever this guest is, having him on more would be a good idea.
oh heck yeah we ain't letting him go
@@TheBrothersMurph he really fit in with you guys! who was he? I've thoroughly enjoyed your interactions.
what came first: the idea for the skit or the voice
He was BORN with that voice.
I was thinking the same thing, and I assume it's the voice. I pictured them all hanging out and he busts out that voice goofing around, then the lightbulb goes off for the idea for the skit.
Yes.
Please do more stuff like this
You got it!
Bit of coup getting Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs era) for this video.
His voice is perfect for this. I cracked up when he said bump a track or combo a wombo.
Bruh solo games only? You're never gonna play with other people which is one of the best parts of games...
Big props to Jimmy here! Loved the detective character, and how everyone handled the scene so openly and enjoyably together.

Best Answer: I am going to go with Mike as wanting to be the original designer of Dark Tower.
These are great quandaries for boardgamers lol!
edit: Package these questions in a box and sell it! I bet gamers will buy it. "Would You Rather: Boardgame Edition."
This is the greatest "Would You Rather" I have ever seen for so many reasons.
I couldn't help but crack up every time Nick started to lose composure 😂
Jimmy peeping down the lens after the Klemens Franz comment had me dying
I'm at the point where even if I didn't enjoy board games, I'd still watch your content. Absolute sauce every time.
Also, Jimmy is GOLDEN.
I did intend question 11 to be only games you had played, not all previously released games. Loved the video, keep up the good work! Also, very impressed with the correct pronunciation.
This video was so good. You guys bring unique creativity and humor to the content for our hobby and I love it!
Yes.. I get that a lot.. I was born before the show haha. I have older sisters who watched it though so I’m familiar
No way would I EVER want to spend a week with zombies… Mike knows this about me. So it’s Horrified for me. Definitely.
😂😂😂 Had sooo much fun watching this hahaha you guys are just awesome !!!! (including your very funny guest ;) )
This was good, but playing homemade Codenames on the floor is still my fava fave.
Agreed!
To be continued!!! 👌👌👌
I had to check to make sure I was subscribed after this vid. Lol. Def deserves a sub even though I was already subbed.
Blooming brilliant - fun take on the format. S tier guest performance!
SO good! So good!
Oh hell no to the sticky cards!!! I'll take box farts any day!!!
This was amazing.
Who’s the new guy? I like him. he’s funny.
This is golden 😂
My wife, "that was a Harry Potter reference, I like him even more now."
Also....Jimmy = Star
Nice work!
This was so funny I joined your patreon. 😂😂😂
We saw that! Thank you so so much!!

Hilarious. Keep doing this stuff. Also Nick cracking up at the beginning got me
Nothing feels better than taking a turn so long in Darwin's Journey that every one else's grumbling gets louder and louder with each "...which then lets me..."
Literally the best part about that game. Inevitably someone says "wait is it STILL your turn?"
@@TheBrothersMurph My best turn was after a 2nd bonus action in Stroganov I got Steve to yell out loud, "what the $#@%!"
I would like to have never setup a game again before not putting away.
Ian is the goat illustrator!
Great.

@karynnoel500 the one Murph that shows me any respect! Ima get the new addy and send you some more peanuts.

As a non-euro gamer: what does bumping tracks mean?
Cut-n-paste from board game geek:

This is up there with the hot tub series with Jeff for your best work
This was great!!! Good material as always. Fresh!
I've only watched 20 secs....Nick trying to keep a straight face 😂
Seriously, where do you come up with stuff?! You guys are the best 💕

What game to be the retroactive designer of?
Chess

Original Dark Tower for the win!

I didn't know the questions were for an interrogation. Gotta go rewrite mine
