Britain left a gamut of anti-gay colonial statutes across it's colonies that are still in the books today in some of those countries----just because the Brits changed their minds, doesn't mean the rest of the world is ready to do the same...
As much as I dislike Starmer I’d rather have a liberal to a National Socialist. One thing we know from history from these far-right social politics mixed with leftist economics people is that their social views always come first and they always end up cracking down on workers even more than liberals or conservatives.

The majority of people aren't LGBT. Britain is way more homophobic and transphobic today than it has ever been with the rise of the far right that Galloway's words incite. That's why there should never be any referendums about the rights of minorities voted for by the majority, a majority that has no real understanding of it and are more likely to be bigoted about it.

Novara decided to feature just this part of the interview which was the original intent of the piece. GG knew that but went on anyway because he knew that people will find out about Bastanis true continues. Bastani lost.

It's one thing to pick up on something a politician said in a different interview, it's a different thing entirely to frame your own interview (this would have been their audience's first exposure to the interview) based on this one thing. It's just dishonesty, plain and simple.

Nothing wrong with Galloway’s opinion. He stated a personal and widely held belief about what constitutes a ‘normal’ family structure and what he thinks very young children should be taught in school. He hasn’t threatened the rights of LGBTQ people. Novara Media is now acting like a Labour Party media source to undermine opposition. Very disappointing.

A British MP who's doing great work exposing the barbarity of the Netanyahu regime and the corrupt state of British politics is trying to be undermined, it seems, just because of his opinions on sexuality and how he chooses to protect his own children in his own way, that his opinions on the matter differ from the presenter(s) opinions is neither here nor there. I stand with George and not with the presenters.
If he doesn't want people to judge him for his bigoted views on LGBT issues, he could have just kept his mouth shut. He chose to voice his honest, heartfelt bigotry, and this is the consequence.
His children don’t need protecting from gay or trans people.

I may not agree with everything that Galloway said but I agreed with a lot.
It's a topic that is bound to be controversial, as is sex education. It can be difficult to exult the act of sexual desire as a loving and lovely act without promoting it to children bordering on sexual maturity.

We literally label ourselves the “queer” community. Queer means strange. LGBT acitvists constantly talk about how we live in a “heteronormative” society, so of course we’re not normal. However, the point I see Galloway making is that there’s a difference between saying “these people aren’t normal but we should afford them the same dignity and respect” and trying to pretend that we are normal to be inclusive at the cost of the truth.

In their full interview, Novara mention that Galloway voted for gay marriage, a Conservative policy, about 10 years after same sex civil partnerships had already established the same rights. I would have liked to have seen that discussed and unpacked and also his Stonewall award for promoting equality for gays and consistently voting for it.
Heteronormativity is seen as a bad thing in queer circles. Assuming straight people to be the norm is something that is pointed out in order to be criticised. And queer is a reclaimed slur it is not us calling ourselves abnormal

He unfortunately showed his true colours when he spent 15 minutes demonising him as a homophobe and then 1 minute saying he's interesting and he learned loads listening to him. George is entitled to his personal beliefs and it was very clear that there is no hateful intent and everyone is still to be treated with respect and affection despite his religious beliefs. The clip you released was virtually clickbait on your behalf, the full interview gave much more context. There was no hate directed from him towards gay people or anyone else for that matter. The snowflakery of some Galloway supporters is really funny. I quite like the guy, but that interview was not a takedown. It was journalism. It reaffirmed to me that I agree with him on a lot of foreign policy issues and that I disagree with his position on a lot of LGBT issues, for the most part. I am now better informed. What’s wrong with that? I still prefer him to Starmer.

George Galloway is for equality for all people of all genders. He's not homophobic and there are many gay members in his party. He is a Roman Catholic and is entitled to his beliefs. Fir that he is being demonised
No one is claiming he isn't entitled to believe whatever religion he wishes to subscribe to. But he is not entitled to spread nonsense and fact free rubbish, especially when that can incite more hate and bigotry (whether he means to or not). And as for this "normal" and "don't want kids sexualised", well one, what's normal? (there's no such thing as normal) and two, no kids are being sexualised or taught anything controversial in schools, unless you think telling kids that LGBT+ people exist.

All Abrahamic religions not just the Catholics are uncomfortable around gays. I agree with you Galloway is not homophobic. There are more important issues to focus on.
He is homophobic, firstly because he claimed that gay relationships are not normal or equal and, secondly, because he equated education about trans and gay people with the sexualisation of children. This evokes on one level an old homophobic trope that gay people are all about sex, furthermore, there's a whiff of another homophobic trope, that of paedophilia.
So, no, he is definitely not "for equality for all people of all genders". He said it himself.

According to Oxford dictionary, "normal" means "the usual, typical or expected state or condition"--so Galloway is correct when he says that homosexuality is not normal. Why is such a claim polemical?
It is for the simple reason that the antonym for usual is unusual, the antonym for typical is atypical while the antonym for normal is abnormal. You would have to be disingenuous if you claim that the latter word is not used consistently in a judgemental or derogatory sense. I am left handed. Nowhere have I ever seen myself described as abnormal or even not normal. Here's a question for you to ponder : Is it normal for about 10% of the population to be left handed? Now, by extension : Is it normal for between 5 and 10% of the population to be gay?

As for your question--well that is just changing the subject. The fact that something happens less than 10% of the time makes it atypical and unusual by definition and your question just asks if it is normal for there to be exceptions to general rules. I don't see the relevance to the question at hand.

The perfect is an enemy of the good. If you are looking for the perfect politician, in the sense that he or she fits with all your ideology and aspirations, don't worry, you won't find him or her. What every voter should look for is that political representatives are decent and capable of defending the main guidelines of human rights and social sustainability. Galloway clearly fits that logical and legitimate aspiration.

The Novara Media interview highlights that Galloway is conservative on various ideological points of his agenda. The deepest complaint about politicians is dishonesty. And the devious doublespeak, decontextualisatoon, character assassination, nit picking focus and many other techniques used to facilitate that dishonesty.
Here is someone actually willing to go out on a limb and express his own real views on topics he is very very aware, that are controversial. Especially in modern political culture.
He has actually supported gay rights through his political power, his vote. Has received awards accordingly. He has behaved with affection and respect towards gay people and trans people.
Yet Novara chose to characterise him as a homophobe and a narrow minded, possibly confused or self destructive dinosaur.
Because he actually expressed his own view on how his children should be taught about sexual and relationship matters.
And apart from the tired attempts at conflating trans controversy with a gay context....Novara implies that he us a homophobe over the definition of the word "normal". Using the very political cowardice and dishonesty we all complain about.

Bastani asked Galloway his views. He got them. If he doesn't like it don't ask. When you interview someone guess what. It's about them not you.
100% George should be praised for being his usual upfront self. If he just wanted an interview with a politically correct politician, he had plenty more choices than george.

He has stated on multiple occasions during the interview that he has personally shown only respect and affection to homosexuals and transsexuals. He supported their rights even at times when many did not. The man was even awarded for his contribution in elevating their rights.
From what I understood from a related video on his channel, NM also did not respect their agreement on when to publish that interview.I wonder why they mentioned nothing about that.
All of the above makes it reasonably clear to me, that NM decided to smear Mr. Galloway. It decided to do the same disrespectful act as the mainstream media is doing to eg Francesca Albanese when putting their own interpretations for that person's words with the aim of "hurting" their reputation.
Based on the same interview I am convinced that George Galloway is not homophobic and I cannot see someone coming to that conclusion unless he is so biased and overly sensitive on the matter, or it is in ill faith.

The rationalising over the very obviously loaded term "normal" here is also pretty hilarious. Even if he meant it as akin to statistical likelihood within populations, when talking about a group that has been treated as other, vilified, violently attacked, murdered, criminalised over history because of a departure from straight hegemony, calling that group "not normal" is woefully poor judgement at best. And it's contradictory to his other objection - "Adam and Steve" shouldn't be considered normal because it's a minority, but he's also scared that gays could become the dominant population, which would then be normal, but then we'd all die, so he doesn't want that either. It's all thoroughly bemusing.
The mention of "Adam and Steve" is an obvious homophobic slur, despite his backpedaling attempt to say he meant there probably ARE couples whose names are Adam and Steve. Utterly risible and contemptuous. We all know the line 'God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,' as a way of othering and delegitimising, implying there's something unnatural about homosexuality and therefore not to be accepted by broader society.
But perhaps most hilarious of all is the straight people here sermonising on what homophobia is without ever having experienced it or ever having really thought about it. Or even having thought much at all. Lots of 'he's just being honest ', as if honesty is a get-out-of-jail-free-card for offensive remarks; lots of euphemisms like "socially conservative" and "strict religious" views, as they lend respectability to small-minded bigotry.
And as for the video going out before the scheduled time, a teaser went out and the full video was released when it was supposed to be. This is pretty common, and this clip was chosen because it's the most divisive. Click bait is right, but he still said the things he said and could only have caused the furore it did because of the content he provided.
I don't need to agree with everything he says, and Galloway can be unbearably smug sometimes. But he has balls, he has integrity. He's not a genocide -accepting piece of shit. I'm not sold on the 'normal' argument either. Openly supporting the IDF is done by millions of people. It's not normal. I'm disappointed in you guys on this one to be honest. I get that a lot of your subscribers will be more sensitive to issues on trans rights and sexuality than say your aberage GMB news viewer, but isn't George entitled to his view? He said more than once that he believes in equality and he has voted to that effect on gay rights. He's more conservative than maybe some of us would prefer, but on the big issues he's 100% right. I don't get the issue he's perfectly entitled to hold this opinion. He has demonstrated very well historically as an MP his support for gay rights and positive legislation . Until it comes time to set the school curriculum, where according to Galloway, kids must be taught to be nice to the gays, but that they’re abnormal and that trans people can’t use this or that bathroom. “I’ll pat you on the head and have you over for dinner, but I won’t give you rights”. Doesn’t seem very respectful to me. Of course he has a right to this view. And the rest of us have a right to say “that’s abhorrent”.

I’m not too keen on how self congratulatory the interviewer is. These comments by Galloway and NM remain far from concrete about:
A. What kids in school are actually being taught about sexuality.
B. What are the moral consequences for the current curriculum
C. Whether or not the sex education is even the biggest issue for kids these days.
