Just bought 3 db drive wdx 6.5s in a ported box. I don’t know if they are g1 or g5 or any other of the “G”line because they are in the box and I have not seen the motors. Bought them used in almost brand new condition for $350 with the ported box and was not given any model numbers. One thing I do know is the gasket on them says wdx all the way around it. When I get to the shop I will remove them to find out exactly what I’ve got. For them only being 6.5s in a small enclosure, they sure are heavy as hell. Thanks for the video.
Now I just looked up the 12-inch G5 sub and the dealers wanting seven or eight hundred dollars and damn near all of the subs are sold out on the DB Drive site except for the 8in SMH, I hate when that happens
I've been watching your videos I have a lot of respect for you and trying to learn as much as I can from you just getting back in too it now that I'm older I'm trying to be better at it so that means learning the science behind it so I can sound my best. Had two massive eights the hippos built a little box for two it's ported in a 2010 Kia soul and man I was surprised guess I got lucky on the build they started popping when I cranked them up so thought I damaged them or one so purchased two of the eights only g1 got them both for 280 😁 and man still popping. 😲 So I'm thinking ground in my amp is going bad gonna use my warranty get another one. I'd like to try and convert my ported box into a horn box I just watched your video explaining it I like the thought of the freq. playing the same. Do you think you could help me out a little on the specs and measurements I'm trying to get there but just learning the right ways. Love your videos I'm a fan forever now that I found them. If you can't I understand that's how you make a living I would like to do the same one day tired of driving these ol trucks
U do some nice videos bro. But I have a question. I recently bought a db drive WDX-G2 Basscrate dual 8" factory subwoofer enclosure. It is rated at 750 rms @ 1ohm or 1500 watts max. Recommend amplifier is the WDX 2k mono 2000.1 I'm so confused. Usually a single 8" G2 is 750 rms on it's own. But the factory Basscrate with 2 of these G2 8" is only 750 rms. Can u help me out understanding this?
the g5 has a smaller vent to increase velocity that causes the hot air to be pushed further away from the speaker allowing cooler air to be pulled in and not constantly recycling the hot air.
I see you love 8" subwoofer they take up little space with lots of output nice. Now if I'm going to get a 8 inch sub the American Bass makes an XMAX 8" I would love to see you test it. I've never see a XMAX 8" on a video. Now about the 2 subwoofers your testing that taller db drive g5 sub is nice😀
That Xmax 8” isn’t modeling good in my programs. The HD844 does better. I called Bob and told him this and asked me to just try it. Maybe one day I will , but in my opinion the best 8” Bob has is the HD844
With a 2 12 inch setup. Other then a amp, what else would i need for this setup? Would i have to get an extra battery, capacitor, hi power alternator?? Trying to go simple. Was gonna go with the speed series till i saw these.
Had a question. Im probably going with 2 10 inch wdx g1. I have a car with a moonroof. So basically the whole roof is glass. Would i have to worry about the glass breaking??

I've always used "Memphis" brand subwoofers but decided to give this a try. Anyone have thoughts on these subwoofers, amplifier and price i paid. Thanks
This is a real late response bc im looking around for people w these subs. I have the G1 12” rn on the 2000 watt and I’m soon switching to the G1 15”. On their website the recommended amp for the G2s are 2500 but at 1250 RMS so I’d figure that would be fine. If you even see this how have those been hitting bc im getting ready to switch mine really soon
DB drive doesn't sell on Ebay or Amazon ect. (therefore no warranty) only on thier websites at MSRP. Only sales though "brick & mortor" (pricing in store or by phone only) from authorized dealers are allowed.
I used to go to the shop that owns the DB Drive brand before the brand launched. Now you go and they push DB Drive on you so hard. If you tell them you don't want it they ignore you and move on to the next sucker. I just take my money elsewhere.

Mazdaspeed 26 misprint... they recommended a 2k amp so obviously it’s 750x2=1500...so a 2k amp.

Kicker L7 QClass 8’s is the best 8” overall in the 8” arena in my opinion

I bout a 4 db platinums when they first launch $90 a peace best subs I ever had but they got high high I know there good but I not shure 800 good
