contemplating it, brother has his transport business private hire just do social services contract schools ect, maybe , enjoyed the chat ! very informative and to the point cheers!
I drive a private hire in Colchester, very busy but some passengers make me really hate the human race. It can be stressful at times especially when bookings are running late all the time.
Yeah, I don’t wait over any allocated time. If they’re not there then, cancel and move on. Same with “oh can you stop at x/y/z location on the way?” Only if you put it in the app as a stop, otherwise, no.
Brilliant vid bud! One question I have (doesn't apply to London though), do you know if I have my private hire licence with Gloucester City Council, would I be able with that, to Uber in Bristol?
Excellent video. Thank you. Currently I live in South Wales and moving to London. I am registered with uber eat and want to do private hire.(uber drive) So I need to get TfL application and do everything as you explained?? I would be grateful if you advise me how do I go about it.??
Hi, Yes, start the TFL application as soon as you can to get the ball rolling, as TFL are notoriously slow to process applications. You’ll also have to have a medical, but don’t do that yet until your application progresses. Start looking into the Topography test too, as that’s weird as it’s more about how well you can use a mouse & an A-Z when you do the test, than anything else. Get yourself a copy of the London Master A-Z & start familiarising yourself with how you look up hospital locations etc (by grid number and page reference).
Hi mate I have commented before and taken your advice and did my topographical test last Monday but the question I have is about DBS has the low change since you made this video because up to now I haven’t been asked to do my dbs ?? Or I thought the TFL do it as part of the application process? Any idea?? Thanks again for the full explained video.
Great video and very informative thank you, can I ask, I used to drive black van years ago so it was all cash, but what happens if the customers payment bounces ie: no money in their account, do you still get paid or do you lose it?
Hello mate Great video How long after you passed topographical did you get the badge…???? Also you said bolt was 48 hours to accept was you able to work after that
Breakdown of costs for TFL licence application (correct as of 14th February 2021): tfl.gov.uk/info-for/taxis-and-private-hire/licensing/private-hire-driver-licence#on-this-page-3
Thanks so much this video provers a lot of useful information. Just one question how do I revise using the (London A-Z Book) or in general please help thanks
Thanks for the information. I am working full time, thinking of working on private hire during weekends. What is your opinion ? Is it possible to work as partime ? Or do I have to have my own car full-time?
Any taxi firm ask's you to sit a test tell them you have no contract of employment with them your self employed you can drive for UBER and put you out of business 🤣seriously they are taking the p##s you will be using a sat nav
So watching fully, Apply on TFL then get my GP to sign a form and then send that as well. Anything I should do with the topographical test in terms of preparation? It's not like a london knowledge? And after sending and paying for everything I should expect a response within 3-6 months at least?
Hi I got a bus licence CAT D do I need to still give a topographic test & also do you know when they are opening back for a fresh private hire licence Thanks.

Ola also don't show the amount you get - its an estimate which is also a bit of a lottery- ola pay every day - Friday to Sunday paid on a Monday
Could you post more info on the vehicle requirements for 2021? Great video thanks for all the info.

Thanks Rob. The apps take the payments up front, so if it fails the job cancels (normally before you’ve even accepted it).
@@PrivateHireGuy brill cheers for that, shouldn't have let my hackney badge go as got 240 people in the queue in front of me apparently 😭
