- Giorgos Provias is the man who created the choreography for Zorba's dance, later becoming famous as "sirtaki". Sirtaki is actually a simplified version of "hasapiko", a traditional Greek dance. Unfortunately, Provias didn't appear in the film and wasn't even mentioned in the credits, due to a financial issue.
Amazing Choreo and I love Hasapiko
Poli oreo. Nostalgie....

This seems to be Aptaliko zeibekiko, which is related to but different from the Greek zeibekiko.
See at 01:08 for the best dance steps ever !
Baletto Jimmy, baletto, ohi zeimbekiko
@@stavrosnicolaou4702
Never wrote anything about Baletto or Zeibekiko !
And the music is not for Baletto or Zeibekiko !
@@JimmyTheGreek2000 if you think the muslc is not zeibekiko what csn I day
@@stavrosnicolaou4702
The music is for the Aptaliko(s) dance, which is one of three variations of Rebetiko(s) dance.
The dancer is jumping around and is not dancing either one of those dances.(Rebetikos or Zeibekikos !).
The fancy dance decaration at 01:07 is very cool indeed, I wish I could do it !
@@JimmyTheGreek2000 rebetiko dance? Did you discover it recently?
I hope I don't offend anyone. Is that what a person does when they too drunk?

Neither sirtaki or zeibekikos!
"hasapiko" is Turkish and Anatolian Greek traditional dance. Greece even tried to ban hasapiko during dictatorship for being non-Greek music. Also this dance is not invented. Just a careography maybe...
Let me laugh, A Turkish Mongol from Asia has a view! The Aegean from the Turkish side is the Greek culture from the 6th century BC, everything is Greece, all the inscriptions are in Greek! Theatres, libraries, everything is Greece, Greece is everywhere!
John Patrinos hey buddy, at least I’m not a caveman with unscientific, racist and fascist ideologies. You keep laughing. Do you know who would laugh to such a moron with ancient ideologies like you??: Vamvakaris would laugh at you, and compose a song about your idiotic/ironic ‘existence’ among the humankind. Get your facts from academic articles and books that are scientific only, and for now, please take your cheap right-wing bullshit propaganda, and FUCK OFF, go back to your cave, and never leave that cave if you care about the human civilization. Thank you
@@ButthurtImmigrant you sir are a low class individual. You have no knowledge of who the great singers and song writers of zebeckiko music is. Are you a Turk ? Sound like you are. It’s unfortunate that you make all raunchy comment but are afraid to use your real name. Cowards will say anything.
Unfortunately for you, the original name of the Dance & Music was called: Makellarios & was recorded since Byzantium at least 500 years before the arrival of the 🦃’s! 👍
This dance is from Byzantine times.
